[Q] Android Wear on 4.1.2 - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i know it states that 4.3 is the minimum requirement for android wear but am i wrong in assuming that 4.1 should at least work to some extent? i will be upgrading my phone soon but in the mean time i would like to get my moto 360 working on my current phone
System Version: 9.18.79.XT926.Verizon.en.US
Model Number: DROID RAZR MAXX HD
Android Version: 4.1.2
as i am not able to install this from the app store due to version restrictions i have tried downloading the apk online and sideloading it into my device to no avail. i keep getting an unable to parse package error. does anyone what i might be doing wrong here or if this is even possible? has anyone tried or done this?

I think its not possible to install an app like this.
I tried to install an app of android 4.4 on android 4.0 it gave a message of problem installing app.

you need min. 4.3... CM11 is a option

You can upgrade the RAZR Maxx HD to cm11 to use a watch or take the kitkat update.

[Q] Syncing Smart Watch with CM S4

Hey Guys,
I've recently rooted and installed Cyanogenmod on my S4, thinking that once I have 4.3 on there, I could now use my Samsung Smart Watch.
I managed to find a Galaxy Gear .apk and installed that. When it runs and tries to connect to the watch, it fails every time. I was going to try and install Samsung Apps, then download Galaxy Gear from there and try again. But the only one I could find was from this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277473
And that APK won't install using APK Installer. (Just says: "X App not installed.")
I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with the S4 and the Samsung Smart Watch. Or knows of a different way to do this. I'd love some help.
Thank you
The Samsung Watch is most likely not going to work with cm since the watch and its software is propriety. You will need to use a stock Rom base 4.3.

I thought I read people were getting it to work once they had a rom with 4.3.
That's a bit disappointing. Thanks though.

I successfully got it downloaded on my son's G2 this morning, but since it has TWRP on there it obviously did not install. Does anyone have the stock recovery I can revert to? I couldn't find one in any of the other forums. Doesn't look like the update is really major, but I don't want it to keep trying to update on him. If the flashable ZIP gets posted I'll probably just use that if I can't get the recovery reverted back to stock.

OTA updates are always slow. If you want 4.4.2 now; download the image file and flash it via fastboot. Make sure to back up all your files to a computer.

Running Dandroid 4.4, official update to 4.4.2?

I'm running Dandroid 4.4 on my ATT and after initial setup I was prompted that there was a system update to 4.4.2, so I thought OK this is cool if I can receive direct updates from Google.
So I click update and my phone reboots to TWRP but does nothing. Now I remember this same thing happened when I ran the CM11 nightly updates as well so I reboot and try again. But this time it says my system is up to date at 4.4...
Does anyone how to alleviate my OCD to have the latest and greatest? ?

You can't and should never try to get OTA updates while using a custom ROM. Especially one that is ported from another device that has different partitions. If it would have gone through, you would have a very expensive paperweight.
Always get your updates from the developers ROM thread. Dan does a good job of updating almost on a nightly basis.
