Hello guys,
I havd a galaxy s5 g900h
And even it has warranty but i need these features :
1. Titanium backup
2. Optimizer app that can fully optimize my phone (those need root)
3. I really really need to move huge games (like wild blood) to sd becausd my s5 is 16gb
4. I need tasker
5. I wanna use xposed
So i have no xp in rooting and have nevef rooted a phone before, i come acroos the net and found two methods, one is with phils touch cwm recovery and one is with cf auto root
I cant understand the difference between tbose two, and i dunno what to use?
*towelroot does not support my phone
So i need u guys to please help me and tell me which one is right for me, the only thing i know is that ppl can flash custom roms if they root with cwm method.
So a few questions comes to my mind:
1. Are custome rom really good?
2. Are they rooted?
3. Arent they buggy?
4. Do they have samsung smart services? Like smart pause, smart stay, air view or ....
5. Will my all sms and photos remove every time i install a new custom rom?
6. Do i really need a cuatom rom?
7. Will titanium backup work in cf auto root method?
8. Will exposed framework work in cf method?
Thanks
Cf root method works fine in our 900h model..
Cf root method requires to root your phone.
And CWM or TWRP could be flash, after once you root device by using CF root method..
Custom ROM will have all basic functions and it'll not cause any problem in pic-sms-songs etc..

i need a root that grants me access to my s4 sytem files and change them
and a root that can also run odexed and deodexed apps (not sure if possible)
but i dont want to feel like my device is rooted . i want to keep stock everything . just change some apps and acess system files without doing anything else . (its like a stock rom with ability to change what i need)
maybe an app that give FULLLLL backup of my phone (system . apps . system apps. touchwiz UI. and al those stuff

Root with deodex support is not possible you've to install a ROM that is deodexed to have a deodex firmware.
BTW don't hate so much root... You can mod whatever things you want but keep all stock like me (I don't like so much Aosp ROM and touchwiz ROM that change much things).

Just root the stock ROM and flash a custom recovery (ClockworkMod, TWRP, etc) and you will have exactly what you want.
No need for a custom rom.
Root works fine on stock. It's the apps that give you access to do the stuff you want, not the ROM. The apps are all on google play.
If you want further recomendations for a custom ROM, you cannot ask for that on XDA. Opinions on custom ROMs are just opinions based on other people's needs. As such, they have no meaning to anyone else. What the best rom for you is, might be the worst rom for me. So "best rom" questions are not permitted on XDA because there is no best rom.
As for choosing which rom is right for you, you are expected to read teh development threads as all the information you could possibly ever want to know is contained in them. Then make a few choices for yourself and test them out. See which one works best for you.
That said, if you really want that stock feel with no differences in UI or anything else, then your best bet is to root your stock rom and stick with it. IT's insanely easy to do. Takes 10 minutes (if you stop to eat a sandwich while doing it)

Odexed vs deodexed is explained in abotu 500,000 places on XDA. Use the search feature and you will find more than you ever wanted to know about it.
CF Auto Root will root your stock ROM. You use Odin to get it installed. It takes 30 seconds. Literally 30 seconds.
Then you have root.
Then you can use all teh root apps you want.
You can also install a custom recovery either via odin or with apps that flash it for you from the phone (Like ROM manager or TWRP Manager)

Yup.
That's one of the catches. It's why they make T Shirts that say "I VOID WARRENTIES". It's kind of a badge of honor.
However, you can also use Tiangle Away by Chainfire to reset your flash counter, thus hiding that you have flashed a lot of stuff.
However, you cannot udo the Knox flag, which says that the phoen has been messed with. However, warrently doesn't seem to be affected by this in real world trials thus far. Many people report sending knox tripped devices in for warrenty service and not having any negative effects.

Root it.
Use Triangle away.
THEN make all your modifications to the phone. Triangle Away won't be the cause of the brick if you do it in that order. Triangle away causes problems when you try to use it when you aren't on the stock rom or recovery. So use it before you change the rom or recovery.

I used mskips toolkit to install my custom recovery (TWRP) and it didn't trip KNOX for me, you can find the thread here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678641
As for doing your backup try this which I found using google in about 3 minutes of searching. http://www.addictivetips.com/android/what-is-twrp-how-to-install-use-it-on-android-devices-guide/
This might help with things that you might want to do later : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192841
Hope this helped

Hi, i really hope someone can help. I recently got my hands on a galaxy s5 G900FXXU1ANG8. I've had an s3, an s4 and a note 10.1 and successfully managed to root them all with no issues. The 2 major reasons for needing root access is so i can use APP QUARANTINE and GL TO SD. I've decided to root the s5 but having looked at loads of stuff on the net about rooting the s5, there seems to be loads of conflicting and confusing information. Can someone please spell it out for me in nice simple terms on how to root the s5 and links to anything i'll need for G900FXXU1ANG8. Rooting my other devices was easy using the odin method as there were Clear instructions on how to do so.
I did see 1 post about rooting the s5 by downloading towelroot and running that. Is it really that easy? and if so why are there so many conflicting and complicated other posts out there.
Theres so much bloatware thats not wanted on my phone, taking up loads of ram, hence the need for app quarantine. And i'm an avid mobile gamer and the best games all take up loads of storage space, hence the need for GL TO SD. Just a couple of games fills up most of the internal storage space.
I would be really grateful if someone could help and sorry for sounding like a thicko.
Thanks all.
This is what I did in the past with my S5 (G900F). First install a custom recovery (Philz recovery) through odin (pc version) and then go to recovery and flash the SuperSu zip file.
I used this guide:
http://www.androidrootz.com/2014/04/how-to-root-galaxy-s5-recovery-root.html?m=1
Or you can also root it from Odin PC.
http://androidcentral.us/2014/03/samsung-galaxy-s5-rooted/
Or

Thanks.

Thats great, thanks for your time in replying.
Do you have any idea if GL TO SD and APP QUARANTINE apps are working with sm-g900f?
Also have they updated triangle away to work with sm-g900f 4.4.2 yet, and found a way not to trip knox warranty flag. Just incase i need to Unroot for warranty reasons?
Thanks again for your kind help.

Hello,
So i had search ways to root my Alcatel One Touch Idol X Plus, found some like using "Super One Click" and "Mobile_Go", but didnt manage to do the root because of some errors during the rooting process, so i need to know if its really possible to root my device with this programs or new ways to root.
Secondly i need to know where to find some Custom Roms for my device (i know its a low popularity device), or how to update to KitKat.
Thanks in advance

@DewiLLpt There are various apps available to root your device.
I'd suggest to try the one click root methods before trying to go further deep.
Here's a few you can try.
1.Framaroot
2.VRoot
3.KingRoot
Try and report.
Your device doesn't seem to have any custom roms but the news is that you'll be updated to KK later this year. The news is not official though.

Thank you @vaisakh7 for the reply!
I tried the Framaroot, error nº8 shows, so i use the VRoot and works perfect, my phone is now rooted, also installed some apps that required the root and works fine.
Will wait for the KK or any custom rom.. but what can u say about this one its legit?
Always make all necessary backups and preferably a FULL backup of Roma who have, before proceeding with the installation.
To install the rom must have the TWRP 2.6.3.0 already installed, here I leave the links where they can consult all the information to make root and install TWRP.
TWRP Recovery 2.6.3.0: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ur623tu4uvzqnb/twrp-2.6.3.0-advanced-6043D-c92-v2.img.7z
xda link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/tcl-s960-alcatel-6043d-multilaguage-mod-t2802375
androidiani link: http://www.androidiani.com/forum/al...dolx-s960-guide-root-recovery-rom-custom.html
After entering the TWRP make every wipes, format and system format custpack and only after installing rom.
When you first install it is normal if it takes a little tear (do not worry is normal).
As far as possible I will making improvements and weekly updates.
Attention, installing the ROM is your responsibility, not blame me for any damage caused to your phone. And to point out that the installation of the ROM is losing buying / manufacturer warranty.
Hugs, and Enjoy It

Hello friend,I to have Alcatel one touch idol x+ plus and I have rooted with kingroot app in 2 minutes(For rooting install kingroot and run it on WiFi or 3g, you can obtain root access safely) .The popular custom rom which is the called "LEWA ROM" which is stable, bug free is available to idol x+ but I didn't applied the rom because before apply a custom I want to make a full backup of Built-in rom but I can't because there is no sd card.I am still searching and thinking that is there a possibility of backuping using twrp manager through otg,Any I will try later .

Not to be rude, when you ask these kind of questions, you need to read more by searching.
1- confection to ? has nothing to do with root whatsoever. Troubleshooting that would be great start. By insuring drivers.
2-no root without pc. Odin is safest bet instead of trying other apps or methods outside xda. Not taking the warranty in mind here.
3-you can't use stock recovery for anything that is called useful. No you can't flash roms with it, nor flash supersu.
4-twrp is a great recovery that you need and should use. It's easy and does what it should.
You can't root without ?.

You could use an app in play store to flash twrp but again you need root. Root requires ? as far as I know.
What ? du you have? Only one USB port? Ask a friend or family to borrow their ?. Takes only 10 min.
Pc isn't a problem. My note can connect to pc. I see malfunction note when I connect to pc. Windows don't recognise this phone. I'm sure it isn't drivers problem because every other phone is OK with my pc.
Thanks for help.
You can try root your note 3 using the towel root on this link https://towelroot.com/ press the λ button can install it the you can use the app to gain root access it work for me when I was on kit kat it's completely safe try it .It might work on lollipop too I don't know
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Free mobile app
geia!towel already tried, without success!now with kingroot my phone is rooted!
thanks everybody!
now i think i can use flashify to add custom recovery?
Hi,
I'm following this site for years now, whenever I need to root my phones or just have some technical question related to them, mostly I find the correct answer right here. So, I decided to ask something for the first time, because couldn't find an answer good enough about this matter.
I have a Galaxy S7 Edge (G935F) right now and I decided to root it for the first time. Didn't go so well, I got the "Verification Failed, Unable to restart your device..." error. Doesn't matter, I lost everything I had on my phone, but now it's working again. But after I wasted 2 hours and a lot of data for nothing, I realized, that I can't use a rooted phone anyway, because I need multiple apps (bank applications for ex.) which won't open on a rooted phone.
I have three questions:
1) Is there ANY method to successfully hide my phone being rooted, which works a 100% for apps like bank apps?
2) Can dual boot solve my problem, having a primary custom, rooted rom, but having a secondary clean rom for only these few apps? Or those apps check for something deeper, than that?
3) If 1) and 2) won't work, is there any other method to have a rooted phone, but use apps which doesn't work on a rooted device?
TL;DR: Wanna use bank apps on rooted phones, but they won't start because of the root. Any method to make it work?
Thanks in advance!

What is Magisk? A custom ROM? A custom recovery? A root thing like SuperSU?
A little more explain would be good, like the title says, I'm a newbie.
