[Q] OTA 2.5 with cwm - Nvidia Tegra Note 7

My tegra note has cwm and a OTA 2.5 is avaliable. I did the OTA and tablet reboot in recovery, but I did not do anything, only reboot to system . Can I update in this way or should I download ota 2.5 and flash by cwm??

I'm just a newbie but am pretty sure that you cannot successfully do standard OTA with CWM or any non stock
recovery in place. You need to get back stock recovery (and not sure but might also need to re-lock boot loader).

0089_US and rooted but no Clockworkmod... can I put it on after ICS?

Hey guys, so I've got my 0089_US tablet rooted currently and protected with RootKeeper, but I don't currently have CWM. If I do the OTA ICS upgrade, will I still be able to install CWM at a later date provided I still have root?
No CWM after ICS update
I'm also interested to hear if anyone has been able to install CWM after ICS update.
I followed the process to keep root and restore stock recovery and managed to get ICS with root successfully (big improvement over HC). But now I have no CWM recovery and I'm not too sure about reinstalling as I've read others have experienced boot loop issues when they tried.
Has anyone successfully installed CWM after ICS update?
word is no, CWR is not ready for ICS yet but i hear root worked. I am having issues getting back to stock recovery to install in the first place. guess i'm waiting for a modified CWR flashable update.zip
seamonkey420, look forward to positive results. really want to CWM at ICS

[Q] Lost root and TWRP after JWR66Y update.

Hi,
I lost root after updating to JWR66Y, and when I open up SuperSU, it says "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
So I turned off my phone, pressed volume down+power button to go into TWRP and re-flash SuperSU.zip, but the screen only shows broken android with exclamation mark on it.
So, my question is, what do I do? I want to flash TWRP via adb and then flash SuperSU.zip via TWRP. Is that the correct procedure? I'm afraid if something goes wrong I won't have a way to restore my nandroid backup or something.
Thanks.
you always lose root if you take an ota update or flash the factory img. when you flash stock, its just that, stock. its been that way since the beginings of android.
you want to fastboot(not adb) a custom recovery, then flash the latest su binaries via your custom recovery.

Restore stock recovery only?

I have the Verizon G2 and I was so excited to root and get custom recovery that I forgot to see if I was on the latest update... and I'm not. So of course I can't take the OTA with a custom recovery. So is there a way to get to the latest firmware with TWRP? Or a way to install stock recovery? Either of those would work I suppose.

OTA Update Root

Hi everyone ! I'm here because I want to do an OTA update. But i'm root and I have a custom TWRP and the ota file. If I flash it from twrp it will be working ? (Doesn't matter if I need to reroot and reflash twrp) Thanks !
you need to extract stock recovery from you current fw, and i am not sure if even then ota will work, I think you need full rom and flash it from huawei recovery
Install Custom B602 rom by persona, you won't regrete

Moto X Play - Can I return to stock with nandroid & perform OTA?

Hi folks,
I am using Lineage 14.1 for a while. So, I want to go back to stock once Lenovo released Nougat.
I have a Nandroid backup of my old Marshmalow stock rom made with TWRP.
My question is: If I restore the nandroid backup, can I make the OTA update or will I brick my phone?
Hope someone can help
Thanks
You backup probably doesn't contain the valid recovery for OTA update (because, to make your backup, you need to replace the official recovery with TWRP). So, once you restore your backup, you must also flash the original recovery with fastboot.
Check if System Status is still official in the boot loader. If its 'Official' you can flash stock recovery after restoring your backup and then can install OTA update. If status is 'Modified' you have to flash the whole OS with fastboot commands to get OTA. But dont downgrade to Marshmallow after getting Official Nougat, your will hard brick you mobile and there is no way to ressurect it as of now!
