First off, I searched for someone with a similar problem and couldn't find anyone in the same situation.... Also, I'm very familiar with the root/flashy/etc. process coming from a GNex
So I rooted the G2, no problem at all (before OTA). Trouble came when I tried to flash recovery. I couldn't get it to do so, but I was following a guide that stated I needed to perform the OTA before flashing TWRP.
So I finally accepted the OTA and when I did, see first pic, it clearly asked if I wanted to perform a factory reset, I accepted. Then I get dumped into Fastboot, see second pic, and I cannot get out of Fastboot at all. In addition to that, when I plug it up via USB, it won't recognize the phone at all either.
Verizon of course said I was good to take the phone back and have it replaced, but thanks to the "tell tell" message on the Factory Reset option, check first pic - top left corner, they can clearly see it's rooted and will likely not replace it, and I'm out a ton of money.....
Are there any ideas out there as to how I can recover anything????
Thanks in advance!
You not the only one! I think the recovery partition may have got corrupted from a bad CWM flash file. I get the same black screen, fast boot bull****... phone still works at least lol.
You can always flash back to stock with the lg mobile suite, got me out of a bootloop. It should fix recovery partition I would hope

Where do I go to get that?
Or is there anyway I can actually make the phone connect to my computer via USB so that I can hopefully use the Verizon Upgrade Assistant?
I used the LG mobile support tool found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
follow the steps, after the top right of that program will have drop down with "recovery update" or something to do a full restore.
I hope you can get into download mode for this, power +volume up
Good Luck!

Thanks for the thought, however that thread is assuming you have ADB access which I cannot get my computer to recognize my phone while it's in fastboot through ADB....
Downer I have a day old phone and I may have to go ahead and make an insurance claim against because I'm not paying $549 for a new one...
Or is there a way I can completely bork this so it doesn't even get to the Factory Reset option, or at least so it won't show Rooted, so I can just take it back to VZW haha???
Hold the volume up and while holding, plug in USB. Should put it in download mode. If adb then can recognize, reinstall the recovery. If not, hold the power and volume down until it starts to reboot, when you see the LG logo, let go and immediately repress them and hold until it asks you to push the power button to reset phone. When you do reset, it will actually take you to the twrp recovery.
VZW LG G2
So if u can get into download mode use the lg moble softwear to restore it.adb is not required for that
So heres my issue, ATT G2. Installed clean rom xe 1.1 then was dumb and used titanium to restore my app data, not system, just app. but someone that caused a system ui to keep crashing, so I got into recovery mode by holding down and power button (white screen that asks to reset to factory). Did that and it booted to TWRP ran a script and then went back to LG screen and then blank screen with flashing led and that's where it stayed, won't go any further.
I've put it in download mode now and am using LG flash tool but when I plug the phone in the box for COM41 in the flash tool just says waiting for connection and thats it. then when I unplug it it says failed, obviously. Is my phone a brick or can it be saved?
I think it's getting a model information check fail in lg flashtool, ugh this sucks.

LOL, i just went through the same thing. I'll be posting a fix tonight I worked out with Scott.
"There is a "back door" method. This is why they updated TWRP by the way...
Download this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...with cmd.zip
Extract it to desktop. open the command.bat file.
Type "adb reboot recovery" then press enter. You need to keep doing this during the factory reset.
This assumes you have drivers installed. If you have no drivers installed for recovery mode then just select generic Google Nexus ADB drivers.
You kinda have to hammer the reboot recovery command. Its all timing... To hammer it... press the up arrow in the dos prompt and that will repeat the line. then press enter.
Keep doing it until you see it reboot to twrp and you should be able to sideload or load from storage.
It may take 10 or 15 minutes to get the exact right timing so dont give up.
And of course, this is all dependent upon you having the drivers already installed."
- Scott
For timing, you'll need to wait right when TWRP starts writing the script and start hammering it out. Timing is everything so when you see the TWRP screen starting hitting the up cursor and enter. It should load recovery. Don't bother using the tool, it won't work as it thinks your device is a D802 and won't be compatible with the dll. This will get you back to normal and from here you can just wipe and reinstall the rom again fresh with out losing media/data on the your drive.
I tried to download the file since I am in the same boat, but the dropbox is giving errors... Could you please repost the link to get the file? It would be greatly appreciated

I haven't tested it on VZW unfortunately. Check with scrosler. However, I assume it should be similar if not the same, but don't quote me on that.
Updated Link guys: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qsjwguwtlyczwdh/adb with cmd.zip
so I got it right when it said teamwin to reboot but everytime it reboot it tried to run the script and would never actually go into twrp. att is sending me a new phone but I'm worried when I send this one back they'll get me for being rooted.

The minute you see the twrp screen pop up start hammering away at the adb command listed before. after you type it once, you can keep pressing the up cursor and it will just replicate the previous command. You are opening up the cmd in the adb folder right?

yeah just tried it again and as soon as I hit it it starts rebooting again goes to TeamWin screen and then runs the same script I posted before and when it is done it reboots and then goes to blank screen. I had just put the latest twrp on the day before too so I don't understand why it isn't booting to it.
My biggest thing is will ATT freak and send the phone back once they get it and go to download mode and see it says rooted or if they try the hard reset and see it goes to a TeamWin screen.
side note, if I can type adb shell and get it to prompt me there, is there anything I can try and type quickly to have it do anything else?

I have a Verizon LG G2 I tried to flash my backed up stock recovery with Flashify so I could flash the most recent OTA. After accepting the OTA update my phone restarted, tried to install the update, hung at a black screen but was still turned on. If I power it off and back on it shows the LG logo, some white text, then goes to the same black screen. What appears to be happening is that my backup recovery did not restore properly and it's hanging when it tries to go into recovery. It's almost like my recovery partition is blank.
I've tried to follow the instructions to flash back to stock, but I do not believe I'm actually able to get my phone into download mode. When it is plugged into my windows 7 computer with the LG drivers installed it shows up in device manager as QHSUSB_BULK.
Is there any way for me to push a stock recovery, or even a custom recovery to my phone so I can somehow salvage it, or am I permanently bricked?

Ive looked through a lot too. and its crazy how that would happen i made sure it was rebooting correctly before i took the ota and then when i did the ota bam! only screens i can get to come up are the hardware key control mode and the factory hard reset which both go to white screens after I do them both. every one else probably has not taken the ota.

One difference in what mine is doing and what your phone is doing. I go to a solid black screen not a white screen. It's very hard to tell my phone is even turned on. I'm having to look if the back-light to verify if it's on or not. I can hold my power button for 10 seconds through one LG logo cycle and then it turns off.

Ignore all the message, unplug you phone get ready to type the command, plug it in and immediately press enter to run the command. it took some trial and error, and i had to use this other post to help me out. I actually got fastboot working first, then used this post to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 to get download mode working, and to flash twrp recovery. After that i used this post to run the command line from with twrp. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 . I didn't have to flash the factory tot to my phone, but i have that option now because download mode is working. This process will work, there is hope for you getting your phone back. I'm fully recovered. I decided 12B is not worth it in the mean time, but if you want 12B you need to flash the factory tot and then upgrade. There is a way to root 12B, but as of this time you are unable to get Custom Recovery on it.

When selecting ADB and trying to sideload stuff to it, it tries to load but always fails. If I try to push stuff it always comes back :closed
I cannot access any form of Fastboot. All i can do is let is loop or enter recovery. Since it seems to be the only thing I can access, can someone please assist me in what I should be trying to sideload that might get me a step further? I cannot fastboot so anything there isn't an option. Seemingly all I can try to do is sideload something. What... I'm not really sure. And no :crying: I don't have a backup.

1. Hold the power button until the device is OFF.
2. Download LG drivers to the PC (LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.11.1) and LG mobile support tool (B2CAppSetup).
3. Install these packages.
4. Plug in you USB cable into the phone but not the computer.
5. Hold volume up and insert the USB cable to the PC- the phone should boot to 'download mode'.
6. Open the support tool and click Options>Upgrade Recovery, follow the prompts.
7. At the first prompt indentify your phone using IMEI/ESN, then click OK
8. Let it do its thing, the phone will reboot and most likely have a bunch of error messages and some FC's. Just hit okay to all messages, the phone will settle after 2 minutes or so.
9. Download freegee from market and reflash recovery of your choice.
10. Make sure you have a ROM saved to the SD to flash
11. Use freegee to reboot to recovery
12. Once in recovery you can reflash the ROM as normal.
13. Reboot and Profit!
*$* Or you could go back to Stock and start fresh!
*$* BEFORE ANY FLASH ALWAYS STOP and MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
Good Luck and if you get stuck let me know

I'm stuck in bootloop, no custom recovery or root. All data has been deleted. I have tried the LG support tool, but it locks up. It also tells me my device is a test model, something bad has happened. I can get into download mode but can't flash stock, via the flash tool. It says wrong device, and at the download screen where my phone says rooted it says the model is a D802! Somehow this info got jacked up! I can almost make it through the D802 flash but it fails also. I only did that to confirm my suspicion that the phone thinks its a different model. I'm open to anything, I've tried it all.

How was this resolved?
Hey folks. I recently borked my Verizon G2. I was running a CM11 nightly, decided to try out Mahdi ROM, but apparently something went wrong. Everything flashed just fine according to TWRP, but now I can't boot up. When I turn on the phone I get a black screen with small text that says
Code:
[660] Fastboot mode started
[710] udc_start()
if I plug the phone in to my PC from that screen, it adds
Code:
[870] -reset-
[880] - portchange-
[3720] fastboot: processing commands
When I enter download mode and plug the phone into my PC, it shows a screen that says "Firmware update" with a standard "do not unplug" warning, then there is a box at the bottom that says "B53" in gray text, and "ROOTED" in red.
I've tried several methods of restoring, but none of them worked for me, and they didn't even seem to have any effect at all. Here are links to the posts I've followed to try to fix it.

So I'm lost, and I have already gone a few days without a phone, and I need it for work and whatnot. Can anyone help?

Couldn't get that to work
If you can boot into recovery, do a FULL wipe, then try to flash back to stock again. The restore to stock fails if you do not wipe your device before hand. Also, you don't need to use any special method to flash back to stock, just install kg's usb driver form their site, then install their mobile support tool (again from their site) when the tool opens, go up to the right hand corner and press device recovery or something like that and connect your device in DL mode, then the tool will restore the device back to the stock rom.

all of this happened to me, and i'm past it, but i never found out if this phone is truly unbrickable?
Finally got it up and running again. Have to start from scratch, but at least I have a phone. What finally worked for me was the LG Mobile Support Tool. I plugged in my phone and let it do its thing. It took a while but it worked. Now to go about re-rooting...
Thanks for all your help folks!
