Record from screen with out rooting? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I want to be able to record video footage from my Samsung S5 Screen (e.g screen cast) with out having to root my phone and voiding the warranty.
But every time i see a way of doing it, it tells me the phone needs to be rooted.
Is it possible to do so with out having to root my phone.
Thanks

with no root and not being tethered I think this is the only way:
EASY screen recorder NO ROOT
i cant post the link, but if you search in Google play it will come up
it costs and i have not personally tried it, but it might be worth a shot.

You can probably root your phone without voiding the warranty via Towelroot method.

The app that steve4335 is recommending is a great app for no root screen recording. I use it myself and it works beautifully!!

If you are running KitKat, there is the new screen recording built into the OS, accessible through the command
Code:
adb shell screenrecord
or through the android device manager in eclipse.
Otherwise, don't expect good results because if not built into Android, it's kinda hard to record on a high frame rate without slowing everything down
thank you

There are some root tolls to do it without Kitkat like this one: http://lifehacker.com/scr-screen-recorder-for-android-captures-high-quality-s-995276159
I'd recommend using the adb method though. If your app isn't fast, improve it.

There seems to be an app in the play store that can do it: Screencast.
I haven't used it so can't say if it works well, let me know how it does!
Edit: Fail you need root... Better read before everything else xD
Edit2: Found a nice article that could help you here.

I can vouch for screencast - we used it for promo videos a while ago and it does a good job (needs root though)
Thank you but I need to be not root... I think it's is possible to take screen capture (image), so is it possible to add a lot of images (of screen capture) in a video directly by an application?
Thank you

Wait... you want to create an app that offers that kind of functionality to other apps or do you want to capture the main content of your application???
If you want to make an app for this functionality, without root I don't see an option to do that. For your own app, you can try to constantly call getDrawingChache() on your view on top of your view hierarchy and then write that bitmap to a file... But I dougt that will give good results, as it is not working on a surfaceView for instance.

Many thanks for that information
Mine is UE40ES6100W and i've no fullscreen/mirroring option on my TV menu.
I've wi-fi direct and it pairs but i just can't do anything that i already done with stock video app, only watch movies and in my case without subtitles so i use BubblePNP wich is excelent for that.
Just for curiosity i've investigated and stumbled into http://www.samygo.tv/
This weekend i'll search a little deeper to see what's this and what can we do with it.

DPI changed, need another camera - good as stock camera?

Hi, i changed the dpi of the screen, now i can´t use stock camera anymore. My phone is not rooted.
If i install a new camera-app, will there be used the samsung drivers or will only use stock camera samsung camera use the samsung drivers?
Will a 3rd-party camera-app be as good as stock one and make same good pictures?

Is picture quality same as with samsung stock camera?
Does google camera or another camera app also use samsung drivers or do they use android standard drivers for camera?
Only samsung stock camera is working with heart rate sensor to make selfies?
-----------
Stock dialer is not displayed correctly, too. But it is only displayed a little bit smaller, buttons are working.
With camera app i can also see only smaller screen, but it seems that buttons are still to press on the place they were before, but now they are diplayed a little bit to the right. So i can use stock camera app, but i have to press buttons with good luck...

s10+ Call recording

Any advice on workaround for this?
I need to have my calls recorded and have been doing so for a while now on PIE its been disabled by Google,
I dont think rooting will be the solution due to my banking app.
Any advice please?
Thanks
You'll have to purchase a Samsung phone with 8.x, so your options are the s/Note 8/9. Also, Magisk can hide root. It's held that functionality for a long time.

I use the Cube call recorder app and it works just fine for me.
There are a few 3rd party apps that will call record. Just have to choose your preference. May have to pay a few bucks for it.
is your S10+ use snapdragon 855 or exynos. I rememeber on exynos version, SS has stock call recorder
I have an exynos S10+ and it has been recording calls just fine.

Don't see the option for call recording available on my Exynos model. I've tried 3rd party call recording applications and all seem to capture from the microphone. Can anyone recommend an application that can record calls without the use of the microphone? On my old Sony Xperia Z3 which I have replaced with S10+ I used to use Call Recorder - SKVALEX that records perfectly clear audio of both side using API, however, the application requires root.

Question Enable Auto Phone Call Recording

Hello to everyone,
I hope someone could help me, i need to record any phone call that i make/receive, the phone should record the call without messages to the caller about the phone call is recorded.
Did someone can tell me how can i do this? i have seen that one option is to root the device but if someone have other suggestion is better for me than root the device.
I have also tried this app: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...cord-phone-calls-from-the-phone-line.1441643/ but use the microphone so sometimes there are very noise.

Yes. I am in the same situation. The only things I can think of are, 1. A call recorder app. or, 2. Using a different dialer, say from a Oneplus phone. But I'm still looking into it. I have been using a call recorder app that seems to work somewhat okay but not that great.
I Hope Simeone could help US..
I have also seen that changing the phone app Is not the solution because some apps uses CSC

That's good to know because I was going to try it. The thing is, depending on what version you have, call recording is built in. So that tells me that all variants could have it built in maybe ? Not sure but I am continuing to do research when I have the time.

Not really. I do have two apps installed that are recording calls pretty good ! One of them I installed from Google play called Call recorder. And the other one is one that I came across in one of the posts for the Nothing phone. I have both running at the same time and both are recording calls pretty good. However, I would rather have the inbuilt option.
I'm from Italy and have Nothing Phone for a couple of weeks now so I may be missing something.
I've tried ACR, a well thought app for call recording, but unfortunately it doesn't record bluetooth calls (earphone or car's) so as a couple of other apps. I guess it's a problem that every third party app is having, given Google policy.
So, I'm using the Google phone app call recording utility (upper right corder three dots > settings > call recording). This option has popped out the first time I put in the sim card. I suppose everyone can access this option but with Google you never know...
This makes available a button on the phone screen, a switch between call recording and not recording. Actually, it's only manageable when the call is started and it's available switching in the second screen of the app.
Overall it works pretty well, even on Bluetooth calls. The calls are accessible via the call log history and can de saved. The only drawdown is that you have to put a meaningful name to the file when saving it.
What drives me CRAZY is that it doesn't have the option to ALWAYS record the calls. Apparently, it's an available option (Google has a help page dedicated: https://support.google.com/phoneapp/answer/9803950?hl=en) but not for the Italian version. Or at least for my version
Does anyone know if and how I can make it a permanent choice? I don't want to manually switch it every time...
Any help is very appreciated
