Hi, I know it's a little too early but please share how's the battery life coming along..
Screenshots along with other info on wether or not Stamina/Ultra Stamina mode was used. Thanks!
From it's first 100% charge.
1h30m of screen on time, no stamina modes used. Light-medium usage for browsing, facebook, reddit, etc.

That's quite average imho, isn't it? I mean after all the great reviews bout a 2-3 day battery life.. Was it more or less similar on the second charge?
Anyone else gettin better results?
I can't give any quantitative data, but qualitatively battery consumption is just awesome. I'm an ingress player so I'm used in measuring phone batteries in terms of ingress usage time. (screen on, GPS on, data on, moving around continously). The battery goes down sensibly more slowly than my previous phone.

First full charge with Stamina mode activated. Mostly browsing via WLAN, testing GPS, setting up Email etc..
74% used, over 6 hours screen on time over a period of 35 hours.
Very impressive so far. This is the first phone I've used that beats the LG G2 for battery life - and it trounces it!

Hey Ben it's pretty impressive indeed. Any stamina mode or so activated?
Nope. Just as it comes.
That's pretty awesome. Mine currently lasts around 16 hours, with heavy usage (I'll try to get screenshots in the coming days). Mind sharing the settings you're using?
Wow amazing! Do you mind sharing your app usage as well? Thanks!
That was just with general browsing using Chrome & tapatalk, video streaming using Showbox & BBC iplayer and general messing about with the phone. No games.
Auto brightness is on, stamina is turned off, but I do use greenify (non-root mode obviously) to kill apps when I've finished with them.
Amazing battery for me as well. I used the phone HEAVILY today! Lots of browsing and talk time.
There will be no problem getting over 6 hours on screen time.
This includes a lot of music playing as well, and the total is off by about two hours since I rebooted the phone at the AT&T store.
I had stamina mode enabled for some of that, but only the performance part, I disabled the part that turns off networking when sleeping. I honestly can barely tell any difference (except for longer battery life) between having stamina off/on when it's just the performance part, so I tend to leave it on now.
This is my 2nd day, I have 4h screen time and I'm around 45% now right before going to bed. Should easily get me to 2 days of full usage. Which is amazing. This is just the best smartphone ever if you ask me...

Can you give me more details about your settings? Do you use double tap to wake it up?
Here are my stats. I literally tried to use it as much as I could while watching NFL all day. I had a ton of usage today with lots of background processes. This is paired with moto360 all day with stamina mode on with exception of gmail and hangouts. One gmail account and exchange for work.
Forgot to mention I also have Acdisplay - came from a motox and can't live without this function now
Two days so far using it from 100 to basically zero.
Not as impress as I thought I would be. Does this seem normal to you guys?
No stamina mode activated because I wanted to see how long it could last alone. I was really hoping for the "2 day" battery life the reviews were raving about.
Think it may get better after a few more days?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Of course. I have double tap to wake on. BT and LTE are disabled unless I need it. Wifi/3G always on. Brightness is at about 30% with ambient sensor on.
Lost 3% over night, but I had a battery drainer app trying to access location all night! And I also really like, in battery stats display and cell standby are on the top. With my Samsung Android system/OS always was on top and it drove me crazy
Btw I'll post stats after another few cycles. This is just a first impression kinda thing with alot of usage time while setting up the phone.
Turned phone into stamina mode before going sleep with 37% remaining. T2w on. WiFi off.
Woke up 8 & half hours later and it dropped only 1%.
This phone is legend in standby mode. Bonkers
Does tap2wake supposedly increase battery drain?
I know it does on phones not designed for it but I figured phones designed for it would have a special kernel or something to reduce drain to normal levels...

What has been the average battery life with your TF? Mine has been good but feel like it could be better. Today for example, after charging and an hour of soem use, it was already down to 90%...but observing, it may also have like a "sweet spot" in the % meter as I often see it stay in the 50% to 30% ranges longer than the 100% to 90%...
Pretty damn good, I usually OC mine to 1.4 and have it at performance and it still lasts like 8 hours.
I have gotten into a habit of leaving mine in the dock until the dock battery is used up and then I will switch between netbook mode and tablet mode. I'm not sure on actual hour usage but I usually get between 3-4 days. And this is really my only computer at home, so I use it quite a bit.
With average use, youtube, games, reader, web browsing about 2-3 hours a day I only have to charge about twice a week. I love it. In the one test I managed I had my screen at full brightness and always on, gps and wifi tether running while I drove around town taking my wife to yard sales I ended up around 7 and half hours before i reached 15 percent. I'd say its pretty damn good. A hell of a lot better than my Adam I had before this.
Really good. Charging every couple of days
pretty good, i dont use it all at once but if i use it normally charge every 2-3 days
Mines pretty good, OD'd to 1.5 idle at 4XX. Yesterday on a 12 hour work day: browsing about 2 hours, Fring calls, playing games for about 2 hours, USAToday/CNN apps about an hour, Polaris about 45min, and watched The Hangover at 720p.
When I got home I still had about 41% left on the battery, it was on WiFi all day, bluetooth off, and auto bright on.
Lasts 8 hours if I continuously game on it.

10% down for an hour of use means at least 9 hours till you get to 10% which is pretty good, and just like the producer specifies. It's better than any other Honeycomb tablet out there, including Samsung's Tabs.
I can get on my TF to 11-12 hours of moderate web browsing (forums and static blog pages, not much power hungry flash) with auto-brightness (in fact close to 10%-0% brightness cause I mainly use it in the evenings, in a low lit ambient) and other than WiFi radios off, before it reaches 10%.
That's good battery life. Comparable to my wife's iPad 2.
I was out at work for 14 hours, when i came back,my battery has fallen by 22%. This happens often. In battery usage graph, i see that my tab was been awake intermittently a no. Of times during the time it was on standby, i mean like it was awake 50% of the time, in short bursts. At the same time, wifi was also on for very short intervals... my wifi is set to disconnect when screen off. I hav pulse,news360 and youtube widgets. And the asus time n weather thing. My mail did not sync during the standby time, as i received the gmail notification sometime after i switched it on. So it was probably an app that was causing multiple 'awakenings' ! Ne idea wat? I dont sync with picasa, so that may be ruled out.
Ps-this was undocked.
Pps- i found out the picasa sync option was checked, so i unchecked it. But i dont know if the battery drain was due to this. Isnt there any app like spare parts that can atleast tell the no. Of times/duration an app was used?

after using mine for about 24 hours fairly heavily, and having it oc' ed to 1.5, and a fair ammount of gaming, id say i could get a solid 7 hours of use out of it while still gaming a good ammount. Prob more, but no long term results yet.

What can one do to squeeze the most out of the battery.
- keep the the brightness at 50%
- set wifi to turn off when the tablet is on standby.
Anything else?
My stand-by time has been horrible. From 100% down to 85% overnight, then down to 35% after 16 hrs, and the next morning, 15% left! So I literally have to recharge every other day even with very light use!
I have set wifi to disconnet when screen off, and I have weather, pulse, gmail and c-note widgets on
I use my tablet for email, sometimes youtube and lots of games. Its on stock 3.1 with root and OCed to 1.4. It's probably like 2 hours everyday usage. I only charge it like twice a week.
I set my brightness to Auto, Wifi is on, might disconnect when screen is off, not sure.
Once we get charged up (and back down), let's see how the battery life in the S4 compares to the quad core.
Please make sure to include your screen on time, as that is the best indicator of light/heavy use.
pleasantly surprised
I can't believe how good the battery has been so far, 84% after 13hours (over night)
I am a light user. still - that is impressive for stock. I never got close to that with my OG Epic on stock which was usually 3% per hour.

screen on for 38 min, 33% of battery usage.
Heres mine on a first day full charge...
Not too bad for first day with moderate to heavy use!
This is heavy usage. Screen on time of 3.5 hours. Downloading Max Payne and a lot of apps. Downloading and listening to audio on Google chrome. Lots of Pulse usage. Games, YouTube, and 30 minutes of phone calls.
*edit* Bluetooth and wifi on all day long.

one thing im NOT noticing here is Allshare Service taking up a high percentage in your guys battery stats...
on mine its been at 7-9% and i dont know why, i have something waking up my phone when the screen is off and it might be that... ive forced stop, but i check later and its active again, ive disabled the service and the Allshare play in the application manager but still comes back on... hmmm i think im gonna have to root and just get rid of that file, or freeze it or something
Question... Does having all the motion settings on effect the battery? Also does having the NFC and sbeam on hurt the battery?

I wish I could get some stats like that. The screenshots are while I was sleeping and 7% seems like a lot of drain for it just sitting there. Only thing on was wifi. Cell standby time on is always the same as the time on battery, is that normal?
edit: the phone now shows 79% battery left with time on battery of 12h 46m; cell standby the exact same; screen on at 9% with time on of 48m. I'm fully stock and running power save mode.
Here are my stats. I think the battery life isn't too bad so far but we will see.

No, they will carry over until you re-charge or change the battery.
I was going to make a thread like this, but it was already here! Here are my results after my second full charge and regular usage. The results are on par with my fully modified and decked out Epic. Of course, this device has a bigger battery, but it also has a larger screen. Between the hardware and software upgrades, I'm very impressed with the stock battery life. This includes wifi on at all times as well as signal w/data. Some motion features are enabled, nfc is not, and google sync is off (I use stock email). Now how much further can this be improved?? Remember not to be discouraged, Screen On times will vary depending on what the phone is used for. Showing pictures is much less battery intensive than watching YouTube videos.

When I'm not going to use my tablet for a while, e.g. a few hours or when I sleep, I do a clear-all recent apps. That has worked well. For example, last night before bed, my gpad was fully charged, I long-pressed the home button to bring up recent apps, did a clear-all, turned off the screen and went to bed. I woke up this morning and found the battery at 98%. I streamed some news for 5-7 mins or so. Before I left the house around 6:40am, I did a clear-all again and shut the screen. I came back around 5:50pm. The battery was at 96%. I hope this helps your battery during idle too.
PS: every so often I do a reboot esp when I feel battery is draining peculiarly fast. I do that with my Note 3 every few days also.

To be honest guys the battery life of mt G pad is amazing, last forever really, no need to underclock , no need to close recent apps , i am very very happy with it. Its even better than the ipad2 of my wife , which ipad 2 had extremely good battery.

Greenify does this automatically.
Tried this, but it didn't work for me. My battery life is horrendous. As a test I closed my folio cover at 10 last night without clearing recent items. At 5:30am it had lost 10% battery life. I then cleared recent tasks. And at 6:30pm, 13 hours later it had lost another 8% battery life.
I have battery saving mode set to On starting from midnight to 6am. Yet it's not kicking in because at 5:30am when I checked it there were new notifications. Wifi is supposed to be disabled during this.
Any help would be appreciated.
I just turn mine off before I go to bed at night and, if necessary, charge it overnight. Doesn't take long to boot up and everything is running clean in the morning. Plus, I think it's better for the battery to charge with the phone off.
disable wireless
I don't have any paritcular problems with power consumpition on my g-pad, but i generally found the best way to save battery in night is to disable wifi, bluetooth, gps and sync, and on other devices mobile data.
If you are on Cyanogenmod this is very easy done by setting up a profile - this also adds the benefit of beeing able to lower sound volume, change lockscreen security and a few other things.
My gpad with aokp have a decent battery life. Not exceptional, but good enough for me. Atleast i can reach 6.30/7h screen on time with 2 days of use (most of this time, reading ebooks, and surfing web. Screen on 50% brightness or less)
I would try your suggestion. thx

Agreed. My nexus 7 (2013) kept draining the battery, no matter what ROM I used and what apps I had installed. Every ROM, at some point, started to drain and it got old very fast. No problems with the G pad on the stock rom or custom rom.

Not only is it the Fastest & Smoothest.. But it's also been by far the most Efficient for my G-Pad 8.3..
I can honestly say.. It has become the Stabilizing Element in my rocky relationship with the G-Pad 8.3.
I wonder if android system drain is same as other model. Seems like att also has the same issue, but one can dream.
Through the two days I've had mine, reports from other models have held true - Android System is the highest on the battery use list at around 30-35%. That said, I'm still getting 4.5 - 5 hours of screen on time, so the high Android System use isn't taking a major toll on the battery life.
Wait a week before answering this question. Everyone is going to be using their phones A LOT in the first couple days (tons of screen-on time) and in the meantime many things will be syncing and caching in the background for the first time.
Also, don't worry about what your battery stats says unless you are actually getting bad battery life. Android system notoriously is getting a bad rap right now even if the user's battery life is fine. Just leave it alone and enjoy the phone.
Cheers
OK! After a few days with brightness at around 15%, location on battery saving, data on overnight and not Wi-Fi, with email, texting, news, and tapa pulling data, am getting very good results. Looks like I can easily get 6+hours SOT.

Mine has been horrible since I got the phone 4 days ago. I lose bout 10% an hour or more. Not sure what's causing the drain. Phone stays slightly warm and google play services and android system are the top apps taking up the battery. If it stays this way, I will be forced to go back to V10 which gave me excellent battery life with same setup I have as S7Edge.
I am experiencing the same. I lose 10 percent an hour. I hope it changes.

I average about 3% an hour loss while at work (i.e. no wifi, bluetooth connected to Wear watch, and minimal SOT). So after 9 hours, I was around 73%. I'm getting about 5.5 hours of screen on time with playing games. Overall pretty good considering I have high-accuracy GPS enabled and no other power saving features enabled. I did disable a lot of app permissions for all the apps I have installed (i.e. I have ~250 apps installed) so not sure if that affected the battery life much.
I too am losing about 10%/hr. While I am impressed with the screen on time, I can get about 5.5hrs, the standby drain is crazy.

I don't know what you guys have running on your phones, but I'm not seeing anything close to that.
Mine dropped 15% in 8 hours overnight last night and about 30 minutes of screen time, with always on screen enabled. Which I consider acceptable. If I wanted to enhance that I could probably turn always on off, and enable greenpower to limit 4G when screen is off.
On St Patricks day (parade day), I was out for 6 hours, with 30 mins of screen time (just texting and pictures) and it drained from 100% to 92%.
The longest I've gone with out plugging it in so far has been about 15 hours, and that got me down 45% with 2 hours of screen on time. FAR better than what I got on my previous phone, the S5.

I'm getting an average of 7 hrs sot. This thing's a beast.
It's alright, 30hrs runtime, 11hrs SOT, 50% brightness mostly Web browsing (notice lightning+ 15%). I can make it work.
I got 12hrs of battery until it was completely dead on my initial 3 days of use. Android system was at 40-45% which seems high. Wiped system cache, disabled Nearby Device scanning, and turned off sync for a couple useless accounts and battery seems to have gotten way better. I will see how battery drain is overnight and tomorrow.
Side note: I always keep on Wi-Fi, Location, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Always On Display. Disabling these features seems non-realistic for a normal user.
~1.5 days normal usage right now. I'm sure it could be 2 if I put it down more often, or didn't work in a bad service area.
Everything is always on. Location, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Auto brightness.
After a few days, mine is really really good. Hardly any standby discharge at all, and easily make it through the day and charge anywhere between 50-65% at night.

I have literally next to zero standby drain. You have something installed that is doing that to your phone.
It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
very good even from the very first cycles.. I have gone through a whole day and a half now (35 hours from power disconnection), with average use, and still I have 41% battery juice left with already 5 hours sot.
sync on, BT off, gps off (just enabled it for about 1 hour) / most of the day on wifi (office and home) then 3G maximum when outside / no power saving modes enabled
....loving it!
bye bye ****ty s7, R.I.P., I don't miss you at all!
I have no idea how you are reaching those times...
I got just slightly more than a day with what most would consider light usage. That is to say a couple of youtube vids in the morning, 15 minutes of music on the way to work, then a couple of web searches and emails during the day and that's it, screen brightness almost to the minimum, BT off, high precision GPS off. Overall, android shows that the screen was on for about 3 hours total during the whole period.
With this kind of usage I would get more than 2 days and a half with the Z3c when it was brand new.

something is surely wrong there. I charged last night, after two whole days and more than 6 hours sot. with the same usage and apps, in my old s7 I used to do one day only and 3-4 hours sot maximum.
I didn't take any screens, but at the end of this cycle I will make screenshots (hopefully with same results! :fingers-crossed
I'm so impressed with the XZ2C & its battery stamina. Same apps as my Unlocked Galaxy S9+ (965U1) and it has superior battery performance. I'll post some screenies later.

even better this cycle.. mostly on WiFi.. and keep running..
Here is my battery snapshots from yesterday:
The little XZ2 Compact blows away my Unlocked Galaxy S9+ in terms of both standby and in-use battery performance.
Both phones have the same number of apps installed.
Both have display brightness manually set to 100% brightness first then Auto-Brightness turned On.
Both phones have these toggles turned on: Wifi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth, and NFC.
The XZ2C has Location set to Device Only and the GS9+ has Location to Off.
The GS9+ is always connected via Bluetooth to my Gear S3 Classic watch.
The GS9+ has AOD turned on 24/7.
I am getting much more reasonable battery times now. Perhaps my battery wasn't calibrated right and I had to do a few cycles.
anyone here that noticed any weird behaviour after the software update? mine always suddenly get warm and uses a lot of battery for no reason. it doesn't lock up or anything, but it get around 40 degrees celsius. the last time this happened to me it did this in the middle of the night when i was asleep. it went from 65% to 2% when i woke up. according to the battery stats of the phone it drained the phone in about 2 hours. Normally when this happens i usually restart the phone and it is stops for a while.
the strange thing is after it happened in the night, the usage is normal again with 37% battery now and 6 hours and 33m sot. device has been running for 1d 8h 53m now. location, wifi and bt are all on and about 99% of the time i am on wifi and 4g is active in the background for fast switching. i have mostly been reading some novels online with firefox and ad blockers (the website has a very battery consuming video ads that can't be clicked away and ads that stay on the bottom of the screen without any way to click it away.
I´m really not in love with this battery. There is good standby behavior, indeed, but if you woke up snapdragon, battery would drain awefully. In total, battery behavior at most is average.
I usually get about 3 - 4 days of battery time with normal use. Best battery time I ever had so far on an Android, and without root, debloating and tweaking nevertheless I always have "data saving" (or what is called in English) turned on though, and tweaked lots of app not to use mobile data, or less anyway.
depending of use type
without net use
and 5x calls per days i reach 5 days without recharging
with few net surfing and few long calls per day
i reach 2 (full) days
note that i have blocked all underground/background data exchange off any apps
6 hours SOT consistently.
Satisfied overall.
Roughly 11.5 hours of screen-on time, with Wi-Fi and mobile data on, with about 1 hour of YouTube streaming. Screen was generally quite dim.
Coming from my HTC 10 that got 3.5 hours of SoT at the best, 11.5 hours is like wearing brand-new spectacles after having severe myopia.
The battery percentage indicator at the top right simply refuses to decrease over normal usage. I love the XZ2 Compact.
I trully dont understand what happend here, i had 2 normal to low usage days with one fully charge, in class charger for one and half hour or so, then 60% of batery was drain out on the drive home(bluetooth on and conected to car)
Anyone has knowledge of how this can hapen?
Battery is like a hammer. Yes and that was on my Xz1c. I think that Snapdragon and Sony soft is better for now. Better than everything else. I had s8 and Samy was
eine grosse katastrofe.
