Hey guys I created this to show progress on porting AOKP from the S3 and get some collaboration from devs. If any devs want to help please chime in. I can send my zip file of my attempted port. So far though I am going to need a ported kernel, the one in my zip is just our stock N7100 kernel. I don't have the note ii so I have no way to test it, and I only feel comfortable having devs test because I am not at the point of releasing anything, and have not yet asked permission to use other dev's work. Basically once this is booting and stable I am going to get permission and I will post it up in the Dev section.
I know that there are a lot of threads for compiling cm for many other phones but are there any dev available to make a guide for our beloved S4 i9500. The more people compiling cm for this device would be better and possibility of more bug fixes if we learn enough to do that. Been reading up a lot on this but was still wondering if a build guide can be posted please.
Hey man did u manage to get the tutorial coz im looking for it too and i have managed to download android 4.4 Supernexus source but i need help as well compiling for the Gt - I9500
Hello guys/gals, I am back this time bringing you a very useful thread for y'all newbs and noobs on the internets coming across this thread and seeking help. I will be trying to help you if possible, not only LG L3/L5/L7 but also on this thread you can ask, POLITELY for a stable or smooth kernel/rom. A part of my motivation for starting this thread is for helping people but also for trying to get the Recognised Contributor  . But the main goal of this thread is for HELPING.
Anyways, let's make the form that i want from you:
-device (L3/L5/L7/whatever)
-ROM name, Android version
-kernel name/version (if downladed from here)
-the issue that you are facing, with as many details as possible and some description of the steps you did and where you got stuck.
-if requested, Logcat
4 simple requirements and I or any other OptimaTeam member who knows will try to help you out. Good luck and have a good day. :highfive:

Hey Developers,
I have already built a CM ROM from source for my LG Optimus L7, which wasn't that hard. But now I want to build a ROM from Android Source (AOSP). So my question is: Can somebody give me a guide for the L7 or some advice for building an AOSP ROM?
Thanks:good:

From AOSP you will have to take almost exactly the same steps. Basically there is nothing different to building CM, AOSP, PAC, CarbonRom, etc., but the source of compilation is different and also the thing you will have to do is add the device specific libraries etc. into the AOSP rom sources on your PC and then compile.
Coming from Galaxy s3, the only thing I miss on my s4 is the lack of a good aosp kernel. It is sad to see that at present there are no aosp/cm kernels under development. On my s3 there was boeffla kernel available which had a lot of settings we could play with and get the most out of the phone. I hope someone can take up this herculean task and provide us with a super kernel. I know it is just too much to ask for but if someone could take the initiative, me and some of the users here would be more than willing to participate as beta testers and do our part.
Wrong thread.THIS IS ANDRIOD DEVOLOPMENT THREAD.and this post is actually useless as it is a request for ETA.Also persues kernel dev told that he will work on this when he get time.Totally unnessary .please do some research as one of members have same post in s4 QandA
Keep calm.Coz IPL 8 belongs to KKR
The time spent whining about no development would be better spent in learning how to do it yourself. Remember, this is XDA-DEVELOPERS, not XDA-USERS and the developers don't have to do anything if they don't want to.

Hello all.
Like the title says, I am trying to compile my first kernel.
I really like the CM11 i9505 nightly kernel, but it would be amazing in my world if it also had voltage/overclock/and gov additions.
It is my understanding that if I compile the kernel myself adding these features would be easy as they mostly exist in a single file that I could copy from similar kernels.
I have been trying to build my first build environment, but it seems that I am failing in amazing ways by trying to follow the CM guides on the their wiki. :crying:
I have an i3 dell 6420 laptop with Ubuntu (installed and functional) that I am dedicating to this effort, but I seem to need spoon feeding on this first attempt.
Does any one have a good step by step guide that I could follow for building the CM11 kernel?
Failing that does anyone have the time to chat in a live state on a weekend or late evening to help build this?
Of course if someone has a CM11 nightly kernel with the added features, I wouldn't object to using that and not reinventing the wheel.
Wrong section,
Ask a forum moderator (any one) to move your thread to the developer only section(of this subfroum)[emoji6]

He could just read the kernel tutorials in the android or chef central sections
