[Q] No signal on S4 i9505 after cyanogenmod m10 snapshot update? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI Guys,
Still fairly new to cyanogenmod and haven not really done much other than use the regular installer.
I have no signal on my s4 since the latest snapshot update, I can receive calls but to send texts or calls I have to turn on airplane mode then turn it off to get signal. This happens on 4g as well as 3g.
Locking the screen disables signal as far as I can tell, anyone else have this issue and is there a fix somebody could walk me through if you don't mind?
I googled around and seen that it seems to be something to do with the baseband? Will I need to reinstall cyanogenmod completely to fix this or is there something small I can tweak?

You are using a really old modem.
You never updated to android 4.4.2 officially right? That means you are still on the old bootloader. When you boot to download mode, do you see a message with knox and 0x0 or 0x1? If not, then you need specific modems (wifi fix/non-hlos) to make it work. I don't have time to look for it now. If no one else helps you, then ill search for it tonight.

The further down that post, the newer the modem. I would take on of the bottom and take the combined package.

Service Search Issue *Solved

I have recently updated my 1337m from Bell from 4.2.2 to 4.3 darthstalker and I am having a weird issue. When I turn on my phone screen I lose my reception and it searches for it again. Sometimes it will find it instantly other times not at all. If I go to search for networks and then hit back while it is searching it will find my provider, bell. If I lock my phone while I have reception my phone will continue to get reception and I can receive calls in text but if I lock it without reception I do not get reception.
I also tried flashing to 4.3 hyperdrive rl12 but the same thing occurs. I also have uses the kernal that came with darthstalker ROM and ktoonz most recent kernel and again I get the same issues.
Sorry I've searched for this issue and could find anything. If you need any more info please let me know.
Thanks,
ab111
*Solved. I was using the 4.2.2 baseband. When I updated the baseband it fixed the issue.

[HELP] [Q] No Mobile Data Signal

Hi,
I recently was getting frustrated with the ROM Gummy. ROM GUMMY: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563973) so i wanted to try something new and never thought i'd get a problem as when i flashed GUMMY it was so simple and everything worked.
However, when i flashed to the ROM S4 Google Edition: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474) i noticed my signal / network won't stay connected. It may work for 2mins then disconnect - so i tried another ROM thinking it was caused by the S4 Google Edition.
I'm now currently on KOT49H【4.4.2】Google Play Edition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353) and still getting no signal, only if i keep changing it to automatically find a network.
I've been reading it could do with Modems, or have i really messed something up and won't be able to fix my phone? I'm sort of new to this all so if you could explain more than tell me to do something that would be great.
Phone: Samsung S4 i9505
Baseband Version: i9505DVUBMGG1
Network Provider: GiffGaff (o2 Company)
Any help would be great.

You have to flash a new modem for 4.4 like nb9. If you have a bootloader without knox, flash only the modem.bin file. If you have knox, flash modem and non-HLOS.bin. there's a nice modem thread in the general section.:good:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025

Modem issue SGH-I337M on Goldeneye Rom

Hello all,
I am relatively new to custom roms and flashing my phone, I'm trying to learn as i go but I've found myself stumped.
I've recently flashed goldeneye rom, and ive been having issues with my signal strength, if my phone is even in my pocket i with have no signal
I previously ran cyanogenmod 11 and had no issues
I am on the MTS network in Manitoba, Canada
my baseband version is
I337MVLUAMG1
I'm getting confused when i try to look into all the different modem version
anyone have any suggestion on which one to try?
did you follow Canadian install instructions in OP. IE--Kernel Fix
Hello, I´m having the same problem with the signal.
I can´t find the fix you mention, would you be kind enough to point to it.
The rom is very well done, the only problem for me at least is the signal when the phone is with the screen turn off and i lose all signal.
I've been experiencing the same trouble with goldeneye and echoe illusion rom. As soon as I stop using the phone line or internet, the connection usually goes away after 15sec to 2-3 minutes. I have to ask the phone to look for signal again and choose the service provider to get back service, which usually takes 30sec. When I click on my service provider I get back to 3-4 bar signal strength instantly.
I can't find that link. You will have to research it.
You guys should really start your own threads in Q&A. Hijacking one makes it hard for others to follow with 3 different posts on maybe 3 different solutions. It may or may not be the same answer for all of you. One may just be not a clean flash. One may not be flashing correct modem etc. I am not on i337m.
When you start your thread give all your info like phone info, how you flashed, any details on what you did to fix, build number etc etc. More the better.
Good Luck--:good:
if you're on kitkat based rom but still have jelly bean modem you will have signal drops. when I updated to kk I first flashed the modem alone (NC1 in my case) while still on jelly bean and then I updated to kk based rom.

Lost Signal after Lollipop update

Hi guys
My phone was rooted but never flashed a ROM on it. Today I updated my phone to Lollipop through Kies Mac. After that my signal is not there. When I reboot the phone I get signal for few seconds then it gets lost again. Also phone never saves my Wi-fi connections.
I did reset my phone but still the same.
It was locked to Vodafone and I unlocked it in Vodafone shop when I first bought it do you think anything related to that?
How can I downgrade to KitKat or get my signal working?
Same here. Do any of you guys know how to solve this issue?

Please use the search function of this site and google, don't be lazy. There is a thread about downgrading . Also try flashing lollipop modem/bootloader, for this visit any of the TouchWiz Lollipop rom threads (like the one in my signature) most of them talk about flashing modems and bls.

[Q] No signal

Hi all,
First of all, I have a Samsung galaxy s4 from Canada specifically from Rogers. I have got it hardware unlocked, rooted and I am on Cyanogenmod 11.
Now to my problem, I am in the Philippines and I would frequently lose signal, if I'm lucky, it would re-aquire the signal but most of the time, my work around is to turn airplane mode on and off and it would connect back to the carrier for maybe a minute and fully lose signal again.
Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated as it is such a pain to airplane mode and off when I'm jamming to my BT speaker
Here's information about my phone:
Model: sgh-1337m
Cyanogenmod version: 11-20150309-nightly-jflte
Android version: 4.4.4
Baseband version : 1337mvluamdj
If i could help you guys, help me with my problem just let me know.
Thanks all for reading.
Signal issues are mostly connected to the modem,

Hey, thanks for the reply!
I'm a little new to this, could you go in depth on how to do so. Or maybe direct me to a few links I could follow? I am not in Canada and this is my only phone, so I don't want a chance to brick it.
Thanks!
Edit: do I need a computer to reflash the modem because that is something I don't have at the moment.
Here is a modem list. It also has a guide on how to flash.
There was another thread that included the latest lollipop modems , but I can't find it anymore.
You will need Odin which means that you require a PC.
Go to sammobile.com and check what version you need for your carrier and country
