So I tried rooting my phone and did so succesfully, I then went on and tried to install a custom ROM, so I backed up my current ROM using the CWM Recovery and went to install the ROM being sure to factory reset first, something went wrong and so I used the backup file I made before.
The backup file seemed to be corrupted and now I'm left with my phone that just goes into the recovery mode when I turn it on.
Help? It's an i9506
In short
In short, could someone just link me to a ROM of any sort suitable for the i9506
have a look on samsung - updates dot com
take a "old" firmware before 06-2014
Do you know of any other ROM's? That one will take almost 8 hours to download because of their stupid attempt in making money and slowing downloads.

I had the same thing happen, and I did all of that including the whole flash counter reset thing, but now I'm stuck. I have a fully functioning phone, besides one thing: it's not activated. Now that wouldn't be a problem if I could actually activate it, but every time I try to activate it (*228), I get the Verizon wireless activation instead of US Cellular. I am in way over my head and have no idea what to do to try and fix this. I just want it back to stock at this point. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for all the help guys!, Ill let you know on how I go.
Was also wondering if anyone here had found any customs ROM's for the i9506 that would be sweet!
I'm still trying to fix this, the first ROM I downloaded took 18 hours and left me with this
<ID:0/004> FAIL! (Ext4) <ID:0/004> <ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed. <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
So I tried another ROM from SamMobile, same deal.
I found another ROM which was sucesful despite the fact that every 2 seconds a 'Unfortunately Samsung Keyboard has stopped working' error would appear.
I am so lost right now and on the verge of giving up and selling this phone can someone please help me or atleast provide me a ROM I could flash (i9506) please.

maybe u got a problem with usb drivers?
restart pc

did u put it in download mode
I'm using Odin 3.09, phone was in download mode
You managed to flash 1 stock rom right? Then flash that rom and perform a factory reset.
I do but it doesn't solve the "Unfortunately, Samsung Keyboard has stopped working" issue.
You should also know that I do have backup files but they show up with MD5 mismatch errors, I've tried various things to fix them but no cigar.
As you guys can see I'm reaaaaaaaly lost here.
I've successfully loaded Cyanogen mod onto my phone, questions, the cyanogen mod is 4.4.4 does that mean that I can't go back to 4.3 for a stock ROM?
This has got to be the most useless forum I've ever visited. Bye I'll figure this one out on my own.

Hey guys just looking for any help if at all possible.
My install has been anything but smooth. I had many issues actually getting cyanogenmod on to the phone in the first place ( seems the help out there doesn't really cover the international i9505 very well, where it does you often just hit a brick wall)
In anycase i finally got it onto the phone and was looking for an explanation as to why the phone is not detecting my carrier. I mean its just not detecting it at all. I have made some strange findings when looking through the phone. It doesn't know what baseband i'm on for example.
Now for the real problem. After all the hassle of getting CM onto the phone i decided to reboot it to see if that would pick up my carrier. Now the phone takes AGES (2-5 mins) to boot up, some times it hangs. The phone functions fine when it boots.
I used CWM recovery to install CM because TWRP just would not work, infact CWM recovery was a pain in the arse too, the only way i could get it to boot into recovery mode was to download the rom manager app and use its widget to boot into recovery because manually trying it just resulted in multiple hangs.
This is the first time i have rooted/flashed an android device so i may be making some rookie errors here but this is bordering on stupid now.

i have reinstalled CWM and flashed a new CM nightly from here.

Look no further, because the full wipe is the fix, like it or not.
My newbness is screwing me here i know it. The phone is fresh from the o2 shop so i dont have anything to lose, how do i do a full wipe?
I have had some progress on my own. I downloaded a new .tar stock firmware from sammobile, the BTU version. This time odin flashed it no problem what-so-ever. So if anyone reading this gets the same problem mine was with the o2uk firmware on sammobile.
I have a new problem though, the phone just doesnt get past the samsung logo at boot. it doesnt freeze as i can see the blue glow round the samsung logo pulse but it just never boots. left it for ah hour after first flashing and nothing. I removed battery etc etc but wont get past this point. Is this full wipe easy to do?

Boot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset. It'll cure your problem. The first boot can take a long time, 5 minutes, so let it do it's thing

Thanks guys im back into my phone and its all working normal again!
Did i do something wrong by rooting then installing cyanogen mod the way i did? i mean it worked i just didnt have my phone network. kept saying insert SIM. was i supposed to unlock the carrier or something? i though cyanogen did all that.
Still looking for that last bit of advice people. Is there something i should have done before rooting/flashing to unlock my phone from o2uk or was i correct in thinking CM10.2 unlocked the phone also? if i was incorrect is there any help i can be given with respects to this? Thanks again.
Hi,
here following what I did on my Note 3 (SM-N9005 model ) and some information that may help to find a solution:
ROM installed on the phone (original stock no rooted): N9005XXUDMJ7_N9005PHNDMJ4_N9005XXUDMJ7 (Nederlands)
ROM I tried to install: N9005XXUENA6_N9005VFGENA4_N9005XXUENA2 (Vodafone Italy)
Tool used: ODIN 3.0.9
I flashed as usual by using ODIN the new Rom but quite at the end of the process I got a "Write failure" error.
I noticed that "write protection is set to enable and I don't know if it's the root cause of the brick.
I tried to restore the previous version but I got "Sw version error with fuse/bin error indication" and after that I tried againto install kitkat rom and process stop again with the following error:
ID:0/019> system.img.ext4
<ID:0/019> modem.bin
<ID:0/019> cache.img.ext4
<ID:0/019> hidden.img.ext4
<ID:0/019> FAIL! (Size)
<ID:0/019>
<ID:0/019> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I'm not able to start in recovery mode, I got always the screen ending with UDC start and the yellow triangle inviting me to recovery with kies (of course Kies doesn't work!)
I read several similar topics but I'm not an expert and the result has been a big headache :crying: !
Please help me ! Does anyone may post a procedure that I can apply to get my Note back ?
I really appreciate it
Thank You in advance

First thing to realize. If you can get into Donwload mode, then your chances of full recovery from this issue are extremely high, so no worries.
Second, the write protection enabled feature is specifically for the bootloader itself to prevent the user from flashing a bootloader for another device and REALLY hard bricking it.
If I were in your shoes, I'd try another Stock ROM download. There are times where the ROMs get corrupted and don't flash correctly. I'd also reinstall the Kies drivers for windows, etc. just to make sure that they are working.
For some reason, not sure why, but people cannot flash Carrier firmware, you are better off trying the stock XEO Poland 4.4.2 then trying to switch across to Vodafone's FW
HERE is the XEO stock 4.4.2, try this and see.
EDIT: Write enabled etc has nothing to do with it afaik, if you are stuck on the screen inviting you to recovery with kies, it'll still let you flash the stock ROM -- Now this is all on the premise you don't have a HK Note version, I assume you do not.

Thank you very much to both of you for the suggestion !
In my shoes, what would you do now? Try again Vodafone rom or wait for Italian no brand 4.4 ?

As you are able to recover you can try BUT you might have another failure. As stated above carrier roms seem to fail for some reason.
If it does then you should be able to flash Poland 4.4.2 again to recover.
Are you willing to try again with the potential of bricking?
Definitely I don't try to update to carrier rom till the reason of failure will be discovered. As I own vodafone branded S-view cover and it doesn't work with xeo rom only doubt I still have is if in that rom vodafone removed S-view issue at least for their cover
I don't think so but maybe someone was able to flash it can clarify that Anyone ?
By the way is there anybody that was able to load successfully vodafone rom ? Please give me a feedback ?

Hi Everyone! I've been looking for a way to fix this and have been to a LOT of other Forums about this, but I didn't find anything relating to my problem. I hope you guys could help me
I have a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G530H) running on Lollipop 5.0.2
And a TWRP custom recovery and had it rooted for a bunch of things, but nothing really fancy.
Let me tell you what happened...
Three days ago I was looking through my phone's settings and saw an ENCRYPTION function that I could use to protect my phone.
It somehow looked promising for some reason and it said it would take an hour or more to finish the encryption. So I tried it.
Then hours had past until it took the whole day, I assumed that it might have froze so it made me worry a lot. So I Removed The Battery just to stop it and tried to boot and this message appeared, "ENCRYPTION FAILED" and told me to wipe my data and I did. (I'm actually past this message because I wiped the Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Data, and Internal Storage [Not External Storage]. That's where the "NO OS Installed showed up". So I tried to do some firmware flashing.)
The next problem was I can't seem to Flash my Stock Rom using Odin neither TWRP, both of them keeps giving me big "FAIL!" messages that I can't figure out what wrong things I did.
Here's what my phone is saying
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B47QYMfr69HwazU1c2NmZWxyV2c
Here's what Odin keeps saying
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B47QYMfr69HwRklnU3VpTFFVVU0
I don't have a lot of tools and methods at hand to try right now, but I do have Odin v3.10, TWRP 2.8.7, and my Download Mode is still working and some stock roms I saved as backup.
I would appreciate any help given in an easy to understand way. Thanks
(EDIT) Hi guys! Gladly my phone is fixed by that technician so no need to see this thread haha

Yes, I did but it didn't work. I'm not sure what I did wrong, that firmware's version was 4.4 (KitKat). But I upgraded to 5.0.2 (Lollipop) which was from Uzbekistan before I tried the encryption function
And I'm sort of freaking out since this is the only phone I have and it's been a week since I had this problem
And I might bring my phone to a technician tomorrow. Is there something I haven't tried to fix my phone within my powers? Any suggestions would be helpful enough. Thanks guys!:good:
sama gan gimana ya fix nya?
Before I start my explanation, this phone is NOT rooted and never has been (every article I have found so far relates to the phone being rooted)
I have a N910F Galaxy Note 4 mobile phone. Until yesterday morning it worked fine when I started experiencing major lag up until the point where the phone would become unresponsive. To get the phone to work again I had to take the battery out and put it back in 4/5 times before the phone would come back on but after a few minutes the lag returned. Then after it had happened a few times the phone restarted itself and went into download mode with two messages in the top left corner, one reading 'could not do normal boot' and the other 'ddi: mmc_read failed'. After taking the battery out again I got the phone to boot normally again but the lagging and freezing kept happening. I downloaded the stock firmware from sam mobile overnight and tried to flash it using Odin but got a 'failed' message immediately after starting the process.
I then used Samsung Kies to download and reinstall Touchwiz. I thought I had solved the problem but it has not, I barely got through the initial setup before the lag started again. I booted into recovery mode and noticed a red message at the bottom reading 'dm_verify verification failed'. I decided to reboot the phone but it has now restarted itself back into download mode with the mmc_read error message again.
Can any of the wise people on here help me out? As previously mentioned this phone has never been rooted (KNOX warranty 0x0) and until yesterday it functioned perfectly fine. I've spent the last 24 hours searching the internet with the hope that I wouldn't have to reach out for help but found nothing that could help

I've spent the last 24 hours searching the internet with the hope that I wouldn't have to reach out for help but found nothing that could help

No unfortunately it isn't. I'll have to approach Samsung for help if I can't figure it out but they will charge me for the repair.

Thanks for the advice I may try this method, I'm just not sure it would work as Odin instantly failed when I tried using it the first time. I just can't help thinking that one error is causing the other so I'm not which one I should actually be trying to fix. I even saw a video on YouTube that claimed that one of the errors is a hardware fault with the charging flex cable inside the phone. Who knows he may be right.
Thanks again I might try odin again but if it fails again I will have to restore Touchwiz via Samsung Keis again just to get the phone into a bootable state

Download repair firmware for your model from www.tsar3000.com this repair firmware comes with pit file.
Before flashing firmware put your device in freezer without battery for atleast 1 hour.i know it sounds crazy but it really solve the issue.
Flash firmware and do factory reset from stock revovery and your device will be completely fine.

Motherboard sometimes acting crazy because note 4 has heating issues all the time because of 1440p 2k screen with old snapdragon 805 processor.i am not exactly sure why it works when put in freezer but many users successful with this even they fix their hard bricked devices and emmc_fail devices.
So give it a try and be patiant.tty this again and again when you have enough time once it wotks do a factory reset from recovery and your device will be normal.
Ok there seems to be quite a few new threads regarding this issue in the last few days. I'm downloading the repair firmware now from the website you recommended so i'm going to put my phone in the freezer once it has finished

Sorry noob question here, do I not flash the PIT file? I've only ever used Odin to root phones before or flash full a full 'all in one' firmware file

You have to load pit file along with firmware same time together you cannot flash pit file alone.
In odin there is PIT tab click on it and upload pit file then go to odin options check "nand eraseall" then upload firmware AP tab after that go to device download mode and connect device to pc viab usb cable and HIT START IN ODIN.
once odin pass go to stock revovery and wipe cache wipe data factory reset.
That all you have to do.

Looks like you have 4 files repair firmware.
In odin load each file saprately
Load BL,AP,CP,CSC, all 1 by 1 and for PIT there is a tab on top PIT file you can load.

I'll give it a go but it sounds like the same process I've now done twice using Keis. It allows the firmware to reinstall but then the lagging/error messages continue. I'll try it anyway though, thanks

Well, it worked for me when Odin failed. Unless you actually have harware damage there should be a way to recover. GL
I seem to be stuck in a pickle, and at this rate this phone is seeing a swift throw to the curb by my friend who had given me this phone after getting his new one.
So, he had given me the phone and I was glad to finally move on from my issue-ridden HTC One M8, which was essentially on it's last legs. Even this low quality phone was more usable than the piece of junk I have. I got to work, and I installed the RebornROM, and I had went ahead to delete some of the bloatware.
However, it seems that my dumb self removed a Samsung app, and it seems to have triggered the FRP lock. I didn't think it was a big deal, seeing as how reverting back to stock was apparently most people's fix. I saw the Realterm fix, however I have 0 access to the home at all, and no SIM card. I downloaded the firmware, and I started up Odin to flash the stock firmware on. I was met with an error that I can only find scarce info on, and on YouTube it seems to be from Indian tech channels who are telling me to buy z3x-tools, and I'm not here to go ahead and try to do that.
To be more specific, my particular error is: SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2. BINARY: 1. I could not find info on this error from xda, and I'm confused really. What's going on here?
As per promise to my friend, if I fail to find anything on this issue by tomorrow, the phone meets it's doom by the curb. After all, I'd really like to not use this janky phone anymore, as I'm quite tired of being unable to do nothing (to be more specific, it's using an older version of Cyanogen because I can't afford to use Sunshine to upgrade my bootloader and S-OFF, and everything on the phone is slowly stopping to work, in particular my camera app crashes instantly, flashlight does not work, a good chunk of the left side of my touch screen has stopped responding and I've had to use one-handed mode to text, along with flipping the screen, and it is a gigantic mess of issues.)
Please help out, xda. I've got nothing else I can really do for this phone, and here I was figuring this would just be an easy night of fixing the damn thing.
After some fiddling, I have now gotten an error on startup that isn't even the FRP lock anymore; it's a notice telling me to use the Smart Switch app's emergency backup. Attempted to install it, and after jumping through multiple hoops and several fixes, I am stumped at "Error 1152: Temporary files failed to copy" upon attempting to open it's installer.
Pushing on, I have received a new error. I instead am just attempting to install the AP file, and I now receive another error: KERNEL REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE:1, BINARY:0. Even more fun, because there's even less information on this one. In fact, I have only found others crying for help as I am. Regardless, I am now trying the other 3 files. BL outright fails to download, CP has replaced the screen I saw originally, instead putting the kernel error up top instead of the old FRP lock error I'd get. CSC seems to have put the FRP lock error back though. Afterward, I had a feeling that maybe BL will work now? I simply got my usual old SW REV error I mentioned already.
From here, I learned of an issue here. I think I need a different AP file. My phone is the MetroPCS version. The only reason I say this is because I realized the AP file caused the Smart Switch error, then CP -> CSC brought me back to the failure. The KERNEL REV issue occurs when trying to use my AP, with these logs:

This leads me to think perhaps I have a corrupted file. However, I have found 1 single link for the firmware. Perhaps someone can help me?
Can you get into recovery and see which firmware you are on? Does your phone boot into the os? I've been through a lot of these issues. I just recently didn't have a sim, so no real term, and had the Google lock, but there is a way out of it.

I ran into the same issue on another on5 when I had unlocked it for a friend, rooted it, then stupidly took off oem unlock and and rebooted to give back to him. I had to Odin the exact firmware I was running in order for it to work and fix the phone. I was running a t mobile older version ( an APF1) while trying to flash an (APL1) which wouldn't allow me to flash the AP partition in Odin. Once I flashed the full APF1 firmware with a factory reset, it booted normally, but unrooted, of course. Finding the correct firmware should hopefully fix your problem if your circumstances were like mine.
Check out these links. There are also other links and other threads to check out as well. Also check out sammobile.com as they have the the stock firmware for this phone.

You can also pm me for link to my drive account as I have both of the baseband versions of this firmware. Hope this helps

Here's another thread to check out as well. Make sure to use the latest version of odin as well. Oh and one more thing it you're gonna use any custom Rom on this device I suggest only using the one by @SuperStars as all the others are for the Indian variant and will cause sound yo not work at all on any other Varian even though they claim to work for the metro/tmobile variants. Superstars can be found here:

Unfortunately, all of these are not the solutions to my issues. I require the AP, CP, CSC, etc. versions of the firmware that can be sent through Odin. I have no access to my recovery or OS due to the lock already being on.
All the links I sent you were to the odin flashable .tar files which is all the files needed to get your phone up and going again. Most of the links will show the download as a zip file which you would extract after downloading then use odin to flash the extracted files to your phone

Are you sure? I downloaded from every link and it seemed to be a standard recovery .zip file from each one; that or the link was expired, deleted, etc.

Sorry to bump this, but I need a response to this now. I have no files to flash and my old phone just bricked, so...
Can anyone help me out? I need an Odin flash in order to do anything, in which nobody has provided me any reliable file. The last guy in the thread earlier from a couple months ago gave me broken links instead of anything, and then didn't respond after I made him aware of this. Someone please.

Use the PL1 firmware. The most spread around one is the PF1, these should work. If not, I'm not sure what to say. Browse a bit more until you can find a solution. This fixed my phone finally.
