Hey,
I was wondering if there's a "normal" stock android ROM available for the G3 anywhere. As much as I love the launchers ( and as much as I loathe Touchwiz), I really want to try out the "stock" Android..without any launchers. Just the one which Google gives.

there is none.... because this is samsung device with touchwiz you can have stock 2.2 with vanilla android theme and launcher but thats is....
Yeah, but is there no ROM WITHOUT Touchwiz? I'm kinda sick of it and all the ROMs have an implementation of it.
Jazux is only partly right, there is already an alpha version of cyanogen mod, which is pure asop plus pure open source cyanogen mod features, and there will be an aosp gingerbread as well. Just look through the forum.
But this is not the place for such questions as this is the development section...

By AOSP u mean "vanilla Android"?
Thanks! Can u please post links?

No, there isn't
If you hate Touchwiz that much then go into Root Explorer or Terminal or something, find the apk for Touchwiz and delete it. There you go.
But if he wants stock experience, can't he just install stock launcher and remove the touchwiz from root explorer? ive tried it.
Thats what i was saying! install that and see if u like it. if you prefer simplicity, then go for it. but TW launcher has its own advantages, like uninstalling the app right from the drawer!. i had installled the GB launcher, but found it to be too, u kno, simple...still LP for me is best. omg i can post in dev section yeeahh!!! finally!! haree, i know, i know

some time back(maybe april-may) i saw a person who compiled froyo AOSP for g3 and he/she needed help to convert .img into rfs(no cwm back then)
try searching
and as FadeFx said we are getting gingerbread AOSP but i guess that wont be stable anytime soon
but if the gingerbread rumour is true then it'ld be a lot easier

Touchwiz is an essential part of the Samsung-provided ROMs, if you remove it, the system crashes, there are force close messages in every second or two even if you use another launcher.
Ah! So I'm pretty much stuck with TouchWiz on my G3 then? =/

No, as the others already wrote it, you can change the launcher to whatever you want after you installed a home manager, only thing that you can't uninstall Touchwiz. You can even close it with the home manager so it no more consumes any RAM or CPU time.
Ah! Thanks! =)
The title says it all. I searched the forums but I find gb builds filled with bugs or too many mods... Isn't there a totally stable , bugless gingerbread with good battery life?

There is, as the new blades, Gen3 come with gingerbread. However, I haven't seem a flashable zip anywhere. Good luck with that

I think you are confused aosp is not equal to stock and they can never coexist together in one ROM
Use Swedish Snow,
http://www.modaco.com/topic/350875-romgen2-swedish-snow-rls7-android-235/
It's a stock 2.3.5 Swedish ROM designed for the ZTE Blade, there are a few minor tweaks and customisations to make the user experience better, but it's no where near as customised as CyanogenMod. To be honest it's the nearest you're going to get to an AOSP stock ROM designed for the ZTE Blade
PS: I know it's an awesome ROM since I use it.

Hahaha! I'm using it now, it's really good and better than the others....
I have themed it to look like a samsung stock rom. Battery is amazing. I can play all my HD games(of course after editing build.prop). This is smoother than CM7 IMHO.

Not trying to start fires or be disrespectful is it just me or have all the ROM Devs either left for another phone or are abnormally silent. Additionally does anyone have any info on a bootloader unlock or root for NC4? Like i said not trying to start a flame war just looking for any information. I appreciate everything that our current ROM Devs have been doing A+ job per the normal, just want me some cyanogenmod.

SS can be treated like TWRP but the Aroma Installer will not work on it.
Ok, I understand that, what is the requirements needed from Vision to run on Verizon's locked bootloader?

I have tried Nova Launcher and it works really well but the settings, notifications the little touches that Samsung does with Touchwiz are not my thing i guess.

Have you tried using some Xposed modules to remove certain things and add others? Objective ROM is about as close to AOSP as you can get, pretty much everything that isn't needed to run the phone had been removed.
But the styling is still TouchWiz so all of the notification portion and the launcher and setting.apk.

We can only use the stock kernel on the Retail devices since they have a locked bootloader.
Plz guys help to find good Rom for my S4 without more problems
you should say more about what you're looking for in a rom. do you want Samsung features and touchwiz or a pure Android AOSP or something more modified like cyanogenmod ?
only a Samsung based rom will give you full features in the camera or MHL support. AOSP and CM will be usually faster and give more free internal space. no rom is going to be perfect though as that is also a measure of personal preference and custom roms often have tiny bugs in them.
usually talk of which rom is the best is discouraged here, we are urged to try some for ourselves and make our own choice...

Lol. Seriously?
What harm does root access and debloated roms do?
It is like blaming the gun and not the person who pulled the trigger when someone is killed. :/
And FYI due to the heavy amounts of bloatware and other unwanted stuff, the performance is slow in stock roms and also not all of them are stable.

Stock ROM is the way to go on the Note 4. I personally use TWIZtd ROM N7 port and it seems stable, but there are sliiiiiiight bugs there that could be a deal breaker for some. For me, not really I love this ROM
