Hello, is there any way to get the stock lock screen on CM?
I have since long ago flashed CM on my S5 so I am unable to transfer the corresponding apk (if that is even the correct way to do it). The Play Store alternatives are very buggy from my experience.
No chance. Links to framework files not present in CM. Its not just a case of pasting Keyguard.apk

Hi! I'm new to these forums and customizing my S4 in general, but i think im getting the hang of it.
So basically right now im running cyanogenmod 10.2 (with clockworkmod 6.0.4.7) and i was wondering
if there is a way to keep the camera from the stock firmware? I was thinking going back to stock jelly bean,
backing up the camera app (with titanium backup) and then restoring it once i installed cm10.2 again.
If this way doesnt work, can you tell me one that does? If one exists, of course.
Thanks
No you can not do that. The TouchWiz camera is specifically for TouchWiz, it's deeply embedded and no way of making it work on any other rom.

Im new to rooting and stuff so please explain things in detail. I have samsung galaxy s4 i9505 on android 4.4.2 XXUGNG8. I rooted it yesterday using cf autoroot. I had to disable knox because of supersu. I also removed youtube.apk which was a system app so i could install another YouTube apk which had more features. Everything seemed to be working well untill i pressed the power button to just switch off the screen and then my phone just went to the samsung rebooting screen. The song didn't play and the screen that says samsung galaxy s4 gti9505 never came up. Just the screen saying samsung. Then it went to my lockscreen. The reboot is like a quick reboot. It doesnt take as long as a normal reboot. This doesn't always happen. It had happened 5 or 6 times since last night when i press the power button. However its annoying. It also happened after someone called my phone. After i finished and they put the phone down it just rebooted again.
Please can someone help me? Someone else already said to flash the latest firmware for my device. But will that remove the root? Also, i cant find the right version. For my phone the:
AP: I9505XXUGNG8
CP: I9505XXUGNG8
CSC:I9505BTUGNG2
Please can someone help asap. Thanks.

Based upon the information provided, the most current version of your ROM is here. And yes, you will lose root when you flash the firmware through Odin. It will be as if it came new out of the box.
If i flash the firmware again should i stay unrooted?

Btw thanks for the firmware link. Right now the knox thing is 0x1 on my phone. After flashing this firmware, will it go vack to 0x0?

Root and debloat the stock ROM using the tools and guides in the forums. Whether you want to install a custom ROM or not is of course your decision. I tried a couple, namely EchoeROM and Imperium ROM. I personally found Imperium ROM to be more pleasant to use. I also thought it had a more professional appearance. There were a couple things in EchoeROM that took me back to web page interfaces of the 1990s. This time around, after replacing my phone's SIM card tray and removing the SIM lock with RegionLock Away, I focused on debloating the stock ROM instead of installing a custom ROM.
I chose to debloat because the only real selling point to the two ROMs above is that they are Galaxy S5 ports, and I found that the features they added were ones I didn't need. Even the S4 feature list is a bit overkill, but while there are more than a few gimmicky features in the S4 firmware, there are things to like in there. Yes, a lot of people complain about Touchwiz and how heavy it is. They're right, but in my experience taking the time to debloat the ROM and then installing a launcher from the Play Store to use in place of the Touchwiz launcher goes a long way to make the ROM pretty damn snappy. Is it ever going to be as snappy and responsive as an AOSP ROM? No, but in day to day usage I really believe you're not going to notice it.
I mentioned before about replacing the launcher with one from the Play Store. There are a ton of launchers available on the Play Store. I personally use Google Now Launcher, but I think I'm in the minority there. Most people use Nova or Apex launchers.
Regarding Knox, once set to 0x1, that's it. There's no going back.
Did anyone ever figure out how to freeze or delete My Magazine without causing other issues? I'm on 4.4.2. Thanks
You can flash this if you are using a stocked based deodexed rom.
It has been a few months since I made it, I believe it is a 4x5 grid also.
Once you flash it, you can safely remove My Magazine. I have edited the smali to remove all calls to that app.
I accidentally deleted touchwiz from system. I'm using nova launcher as a substitute but I'll like to know how to get it back. I try downloading apk from Web but is not working. My goal was to get s6 touchwiz but I deleted it without backing up. Help is greatly apreciate it. Note 4 lollipop
Do you not have a copy of the ROM you're running? Just pull the touchwiz home apk from that using 7zip
Just reflash your rom or download tw. You can find several tw options. Like 4*5,*5 5 6*5* and so on xda or do as above

Hi all!
Using the advise on this forum, i've been able to root my phone.
I've never rooted a phone before, and am looking for advise as to what to do first, what apps and bloatware its safe to remove, what stuff to install. (S5 SM-G900I, if that helps)
Is there something that changes the range of the brightness slider? Its too bright at night normally!
What are some cool things I can do with Tasker?
Can i have apps or information showing on the lock screen, or the charge screen? What other options for Daydream do i have now?
Thanks!
There's a lot you can do. Depending on your tastes. I would recommend looking into cyanogenmod. I am using an s5 right now, running cyanogenmod 13 with xposed framework and modules. Google everything!! With your model number and or provider you should be able to figure out everything with google. I assume your recovery is twrp or philz touch.... You can flash everything from there.
