Damn, is that slow? I have an average of 200Kbps but I feel like I going at light speed when I max out at 250Kbps. Turn it on and off works most of the time, if not try to connect to your network with all devices connected off. If it becomes faster than its your network.

I think that all Tab4 must have the same downloading speed . My SM-T530 show me 6.6 Mb/s
Are you downloading the same thing at the same time on the same network?

Of course not . I understood so, that him, adammo666, disturbs download speed at all in his device .

No no no. I'm not downloading nothing at the same time.
Only computer connected to my wifi is off,
I'm turning on speed test on my tab 4 7.0 sm-t230nu and it shows 450 kbps download and 420 upload (about 1,5m from wifi router). Speedtest ends.
Then I'm turning speedtest on my htc one from the same distance and it shows 3500 kbps download and 420 upload (Just like it should be). Then my face goes like: WTF...why it's not the same or even similiar?
Ok so I changed my Wi-Fi network from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz now my download is ok(2600kbps), but it doesnt work like it should, it f.e. says my network is connected but I can't load any page. It's strange........
Even better, I changed Wi-Fi router (to not the one ISP delivered) and it's ok now
There ya go. Usually isp routers are garbage

Hi all, just done a line speed test from my phone on about 10 differnt sites and everyone of them gives me the same results, just want to know if what i'm getting is way off the mark, every site says way off the chart
Your line speed:
4080 Kbps
500 K bytes/sec
and no i am not using cable or adsl just using the phone with the normall usb lead first time i've ever seen speeds like that from a hermes i'm normally lucky to get about 1.5meg at the least. the last site i used was http://www.info-techs.com/speedtest50.html

i tried it.. im in an edge area... and got the same results... i think that speed meter is broken...
The Hermes is limited by design to ~1.5mbps. It's physically incapable of achieving anything higher than 1.5mbps even though the HSDPA spec allows for various high datarates.

With the USB lead? You mean you are sync'd to your pc cos if so, you are using the internet passthrough from your pc? Or are you using the Hermes as your modem?
I'm not in the house, havent been from last satuday in a b&B in Norwich without any net access only the hermes for company and that speed test was broken as i've just done it again and i'm getting 690 ere in norwich back home in manchester i get about 900kb/s - 1.3meg i though that speed test was funny but after 10 differnt sites telling me the same thing i didnt know what to think then even www.dslreports.com/mspeed gave the same test result
Unless your enjoying Norwich's free wifi net...

posted this in another thread cause someone didn't believe the speeds I was getting in the same town they were. As you can see there is No WiFi turned on.
Enjoy
its general knowledge that that testing website is just not accurate at all. try using some other speed tests for comparison, and you will see the difference.
Well, I'm sure you're on HSPA+ but 12Mbps is impossible.
Sooooo the last I checked the Nexus was limited to a 7.2 mbps MAX by hardware...
Thats pretty ****ed up, I was wondering why when I changed the DL size speed seemed to increase each time.
At Speakeasy and Speedtest I hit 3.5 but even that is much after then the 1 I get with Clear.

Clear is pretty lame here. It gets especially slow during 5-8pm
Ya heavily considering telling them to GTFO and just stick to tethering my Nexus
If you really want to test the phone's speed use the phone thetered to the PC and use dumeter to monitor 3 or 4 parallel downloads.
The maximum you can reach on a 7.2 network is 6.7 megabit.
If you have a 10 Mbit modem (like the N900 or the milestone) and your network is updated you can expect 8Mpbs as maximum.
If you can manage the 5 or 10GB soft cap (T-Mobile throttles after 10GB of usage on phones, but older plans are capped at 5GB (total internet is 5GB)) go for it. The only good thing Clear has going for themselves is unlimited usage for the time being.
I am getting 12mb/s on that site (mobilespeedtest.com) also. In the same location SpeedTest shows me 1,4mb/s which is more accurate

I never really use my wifi on my phone even though I have it at my house. But last night I connected to wifi to compare download speeds with my sons droid x. Well come to find out that this thing is downloading videos at 1.5gbps !!!! I could not believe it, is this a normal speed for the Fascinate? I also have rubiks rom with the data throttle remover. Could I get some feedback, just want to know what most people are running on wifi. Thanks.

1.5gbps? Are you sure that its not mbps?
At that speed, are you downloading videos within a second?
If you are download at 1.5gbps, that's unworldly fast. You mean mbps? Also, Wifi speed also depends on how fast your home internet service is in the first place.

It has to be Mbps; the max speed for wireless N is around 300 Mbps.
correction
My bad guys it is"mdps" After I posted I realized that I mentioned to put mdps.But I still think that's pretty dorm fast, it beats every laptop on the house and this is a phone.
You still probably want to say mbps. Today's phones can match any laptop on the a,b,g,n WiFi band. It all depends on you isp speed and what type of wifi you're using.

Just to let you know wireless N has virtually nothing to do with download rate. That has to do with your ISP wether it be Verizon's Broadband or any ISP... Wireless N can reach speeds of 600Mbps with a dual bonded router and dual bonded adapter... This will only matter if you transfer files on your LAN... Not over WAN... normal maximum bandwidth around the country is anywhere between 1.5-25 Mbps... not to say there isnt faster.

There are millions of these threads. And people from ALL around the world connecting from many different devices with different radios.
Even 2 people in the same city can see amazingly different speeds based on tower load and a million other variables.
2 to 3 Down...0.5 to 1 up
Down:
Max = 5mb
Min = 2mb
Up:
Max = 1.7mb
Min = .8mb
All results are from LA on speedtest.net
Most common results are about 2.5 down and 1.5 up.
G2 on CM7 Nightlies
Radio = 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
max 3 down and 1 up. Unfortunately.
Would be also nice to have WiFi max.Will try tomorrow at work.

As these phones are designed to do 14.4 mb/s you'd think we'd be able to get half that. The most I've seen in my area is about 5 mb/s and that's a rare occurrence. I would love to see 7.
Best I've seen in the L.A. area is 6.1mb down and 1.8mb up. But ya, totally think we'd be able to get at least half of what we are capable of. Then again, The network is still pretty new in comparison to other networks. Even though its "America's Largest '4G' Network"...

My numbers are almost identical to this. Downloading a Tubemate video today over HSPA+, I got about 8mbps max, 6mbps average.
On WiFi, I've gotten about 15mbps down, 8mbps up.
On 3G on AT&T in a somewhat rural area.
Max of 3Mb down, more commonly around 2 and between 1-1.5 up.
On wifi, get 5mb down and 3 mb up (with torrents running on my PC)
Well, data plan just activated about an hour ago. I went outside to test and was getting 0.4 MB/s then realized I was using 2G.
Turned the option off, tested again, and was getting around 2.06 MB down and 1.58 MB up.
Is this normal for the speeds to be low during the first couple hours/days of having a data plan?
Im sorta disappointed in the speeds (its not much faster than the current home DSL).
Im in Anaheim, CA area btw.
I average about 4-5 mbps down and i seem to hold steady at 1.7-1.8 up
though there are a couple of sweet spots in my city where i pull down 6-9 consistently.

On WiFi I only got 10+mbps the first time I ran a speedtest... After that it's never been over 7mbps Idk why though, speedtest on the computer always scores ~20mbps... Is there like something that lowers download speed on the phone?
EDIT: lol after posting this I just realized... I always force 2g on my phone to save battery... I connected to 3g/4g and turned back on my WiFi and BAM 14mbps... solved my own problem... The 2g/3g settings affect speeds on WiFi aswell
As far as m.b.p.s. on down and uploading speeds? Where I live inside my home I get 50-80 m.b.p.s. on downloading speeds and 10-30 m.b.p.s. on my uploading speeds with my T-Mobile samsung Galaxy s9 plus device.I was just wondering if you guys we're getting roughly the same speeds as I'm getting or if your are receiving aloe faster speeds than I'm getting. Depends. On my carriers network (Freedom) my phone displays lte and I pulled 100Mbps down with 25Mbps up yesterday. Today, I was roaming on either Telus or Bell and my phone showed 4G instead of lte and I got a whopping 5Mbps down.
On Wifi, I can max my 350Mbps internet connection and my lan speeds are usually upwards of 800Mbps.
On my home wifi, i max out my bandwidth. 220Mbps down and 20Mbps(Virgin UK). Mobile data on 4G at home, 197Mbps down and 49Mbps up (EE UK). I do get slightly higher download and upload speeds sometimes whilst out and about in London. Had similar speeds on the Note 8 as well, so for me, nothing changed.
Hope this helps.

Check the bandwith of the channel (20/40/80) and if you are using channel aggregation, your downstream channel is probably too crowded for your current settings
Topic:
240/20 (my plan) on wifi no issues,
Average of 60/15 on LTE, some locations are way less (10mbps) some others are way more (200mbps), but thats the normal stuff here
I found though that this is the best modem i've used (including phones and actual modems) regarding agreggation, my S8 drops aggregation faster, generally once it reaches 1 bar of signal (like indoors), while my S10+ just keeps going along, it generally drops it only once the signal is really poor
But because of that ,it is much more hesitant to drop to HSPA+, which is a technical problem per say, as here HSPA+ as really good coverage overall and its clean (constant 20mbps) due to everything moving to LTE.

Well, I tried everything possible for a possible increase in download speed but nothing worked. Everytime I did a test from Ookla it showed around 30 Mbps, but when I download something from PlayStore and Calculate the time using stopwatch, the speed comes out to be 83 Mbps Download.
I have 500MB/s at home and my S10 gets upwards of 350± . Newer ASUS router, 5GHz using Ookla Speed Test. It's a beast of a phone and Beasty bandwidth capabilities! Love it!
