I've been a regular user of SD merged roms for Lg E400. I love the SD merge feature as it bypasses the very low 150 mb data storage limit .
However ,
>> With SD merge, External card acts as internal . Is there a way to fix this ? For the external card to act as external ? Its annoying that i have to restart the phone after removing or changing a mem card .
>> Is there a workaround/Modification to only merge a part of the internal memory ? Like , merge 500 MB and keep the other 500 MB as internal storage itself ? I only ask this as it would again allow the external card to act as a real external card !

I just get my SGS and I notice that the memory structure is so defined:
- The internal storage memory (8Gb, but i see only 5,7) is called "SDcard"
- the phisical external Sd card is seen as a directory, called "SD" under the SDcard.
Now my questions are:
When I install big seized programs,e.g. Navigators, all the program data are by default stored in the internal memory, which is limited and fix (not expandable). I would install the navigation map on the exernal Sd.
Is this a problem of Android or just how SGS impemented it? Is it possible to make the external card be rocognised as primary SDcard?
- Why the internal memory is only 5,7Gb? ok 8Gb are theoretical but 2,3 GB less ....

The reason it's so small is because the OS and it's apps have to go somewhere, also when Froyo is released you'll be able to install apps directly to the SD card but know that internal memory is much faster than an SD card so you may what to keep that in mind when you factor in what apps to install to SD.

thanks for the answer, I supposed the 2,3 Gb were for the OS, in fact the space for application is 1,8GB, but I hoped the two memorys are separated.
So with froyo will be able really to install the app on the real Sd card, and not on the internal memory, whichist called "SDcard" by the os?

after having discovered that the 2 internals Go found in the Streak were in fact an extra micro sd hidden inside the device, I'm dreaming of changing this card to a bigger one...
Imagine, one internal 32 Go card, plus an external 32 Go.... 64 Go of memory space user accessible.... wouldn't it be wonderfull ?
So my question is :
can we create under android a new partition that would be recognize as an user accessible space ?
in this case, we just need to copy the 2 Go internal memory card, containing system data, to a 2Go partition from a 32 Go µsd card, and creating another partition with the other 30 Go, that would be usable by user, to store music, movies and so...
what do you think of this ?
what version of android would be required for such an experience ?

Hi everyone i'm trying to increase my acer liquid e310 (mini) (android 2.2) rooted internal memory.
I tested a application called link2sd for rooted phones but it asks me to make a ex2 partition I did that with a program called minitool partition:
Deleted the original partition (7.4 gb)
Created a new one priority of 6.4 gb fat32
And the second one 1 gb priority 1 gb ex2
But once I connect the sd card back to my phone it says something like sd card damaged please format or it says sometimes blank sd card with the format popup witouth format i can't do anything on that SD card

-the android project keeps doing software with no support for small internal memory phones, earning good money for this
- the phone manufacturers continue do make good money from phones with small (150 mb) internal memory
i finally manged to swap internal and external memory in canvas hd.now but now even though i ask it to save the apps in internal it says in external ienly the places were exchanged.how to make this proper

Is there a possibility to have sd memory as internal phone memory ?
I have phone wiht android 6.0.1 (and there is no option to format sd card as internal phone memory).
My phone memory is nearly full (when I transfer apps from phone memory to sd card - I get space, but when I update the apss - they are on internal memory again, I must transfer them again - everytime I update the apps).
My phone have root , Is threre a solution to install apps on sd card ?
Or any room whit this option ? (instaling apps on sd card) ?
