Hello!
Many question on one post...
To open your magician, it will be difficult to open the bottom side where is the camera objective (written 1.3 Mega). I personally had problem with the HP in front of the phone (screen side) and many people said that was software problems.
I decided to fully open my magician. Has I said it was difficul to open the bottom side up the battery, I scratched a bit all the side to open it with a cutter or knife. When this part were away, take care of the camera and disconnect the flat cable to remove it. Also hard to remove the sides buttons but possible. I finaly reach the front HP and found that was one of the two pins of the HP that was (tordue: don't know this word in english).
So it is possible to fully open the magician...
Try a full screen keyboard for your sms.

Thx in advance!

Glad you liked my video
Anyways if you read this thread you will find lots of stuff to help you out with Ultimate Launch!
Great app!

Make UltimateLaunch Full Screen
I found the best utilization of UltimateLaunch is to make it occupy the full today screen and include current today screen in it in addition to any prog shortcuts.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365334
Full screen for me is 267 pixels under the "Fixed plugin-height" section of the Display tab. Its a great program that will even let you use your existing today plugins (like HTC Home, quicklauncher, and many more) within one of its tabs. The Youtube video above says it all.
Agreed Guys, amazing program but I require a bit of help.
I had 3 sides of a cube, and it was working perfectly even after a SR.
I added a 4th side with SPB Weather and some contacts using SmartUtilitie's Makecall.exe. and it works great until I SR then after the today screen is blank, I check the settings and UL is still checked.
Only way to get it working again is to uncheck, SR, and recheck, then it works until next SR. ANY IDEAS???? Really love this proggie.
Sometimes I faced this problem of another page appearing in the wrong place.. interesting is I can actually access that plug-in which shouldn't be there!
Sometimes I also experience redraw problem in the page. After 'rotating' it a few times, everything is back to normal.
I now have Hermes/TyTN and are used to and want be able to navigate everything office-related quickly with the keyboard (mostly Outlook Mobile and the ”File explorer” (Word-documents)
So more specifically (but feel free to answer in general terms as well):
- Is the above easy and quick?
(Especilly concerning Outlook Mobile)
- Is it possible to customize a button shorcut to the ”File explorer”?
- I noticed that the keyboard lacks soft buttons and directional arrows - how does that work out?
- Do Word Mobile documents open quickly?
I'm thinking about buying a Kaiser/TyTN II after a litte disapointing test of Touch Pro, but would like to enjoy the fun, exciting and practical things, like Google maps, of a Touch Phone as well.
/Dan
-There are 2 soft keys you can customize
-The D-pad/Optical scroll will still be usable in landscape mode and will be rotated so that it works correctly.
-It one of the fastest phones out there so yes they'll open quickly.
Thanks!
I´m afraid it lead to some more questions :s.
Okey, now I think I can see the scroll wheel which I guess works for instead of vertical arrows, but what about sideways?
By soft keys I meant the keys above the keyboard (se attachment), which one´s did you mean?
The reason I ask if it´s slow with opening Word-documents is that Touch Pro, also one of the fastest, took 15-25 sec. to open a 50kB doc. which is ridiculous because they usually are 150-200kB.

You can set those two keys to anything you want on just about any windows mobile device so setting that to file explorer shouldn't be problem at all.
When I was talking about the optical scroller, I was talking about the Xperia. I does not have a scroll wheel. You know those little mouse pads on labtops. Well it has a mini (sorta) one of those for scrolling on the bottom of the screen or you can use it as a D-Pad.
The touch pro has touchflo3d that may slow application loading time because it causes over head. On the standard today screen the Xperia should fly with opening word docs.

May I ask what disappointed you in the Touch Pro?
Except slow opening of word files?
Some clarifications:
- The two soft buttons.
There are two physical buttons below the display that you can use or you can just touch the buttons on the screen itself.
When the keyboard is open there are no physical buttons on the keyboard so you have to touch the screen or use the two buttons below (now on the side of) the screen.
- Directional Keys
Around the optical mouse there are 4 directional keys that work both with the keyboard open and closed. They work fine and they logically rotate with the screen orientation.
- Optical mouse
As Kloc said it's not a scroll wheel but works similar to a touch pad on a laptop.

I don't know about navigating to Outlook quickly, but 3 panels carry a shortcut to outlook - the SE Panel, the Spb Panel, and the Windows Panel... and from the latest videos i have seen, it is fast.
There is also another video on youtube where they open various office documents on the device including spreadsheets, word document, etc. and although i did not care to notice, but i am quite certain that it was not slow. i'll try to hunt down that video and post the link here.
Hi again (after sleep and work)
Ok, now I understand which soft buttons you guys mean, I was only refering to the ones that TyTN (see pic) has in landscape mode above the keyboard (very practical). I guess I´ll have to use the touch screen for those commands.
Thanks for the clarification about the directional keys I hope they are quick to work with in keyboard ”mode” as you imply.
And msalmank, if you find the link I´ll be happy to see it, if not one of you have direct experience with opening Word-documents. On Touch Pro I actually turned off the Touch Flo 3D and it didn´t become quicker (not much anyway). Slower than my 2 year old HTC TyTN.
Why I was dissapointed in Touch Pro (except slow opening of Word-documents)?
(I realize that the perspective here is narrow, but as said, I use the PDA mostly in this narrow office-way. Constantly and quickly changing calender-appointments and writing in different Word-documents. Besides that TP does have some great stuff in it!)
- The input method with auto suggestion of Words is really crappy (I don´t know it it´s the same in all WM6.1 phones(?))
- Low sound-signals for reminders and SMS
- Low battery time (but I´we seen completely different opinions on this matter so I don´t know what´s up with that)
- Unproportionaly big menus when using the keyboard in landscape mode (might be fixable?)
I just might buy the Xperia and test it and send it back if I´m not pleased. That might be the simplest solution. But buying the first couple of weeks is always risky, isn´t it.
I'm a PC, and this is my office!

Hey all. Really enjoying my X1 but coming from the more of a business user side of things I now find myself getting a wee bit angry at the little black phone.
Recently the Sony Ericsson panels have started to hang. The shell is active, I can use the start menu and applications launched there on in but the actual panel itself will not respond to input. I tracked this down to my calendar. If I set to not display any calendar entries then the panels work fine, add a calendar entry, the panel will refresh and then hang displaying nothing in the appointments.
I should add that my calendar displays just fine in the spb mobile shell and also in my today screen. Without my calendar these two panels are pretty useless to me now.
Any ideas? I really dont want to have to hard reset the device again!
Same here. Very annoying! Seems to have worsened after installing Touchflo 3d though. And I must say, ever since I’ve done that I haven’t touched the panels very much anymore. Simply works better.
i disabled TF3D... it causes lot of these problems on Xperia.. especially the hanging of the display.
now no problem
Thanks guys, I don't have touchflo installed so can't be that. I think I must have some meeting in my meeting db that the SE panels can't parse. If I wind the date forward to the 28th then all is well again, the panels wake up and display correctly. Guess I'll just have to live without the SE panels for another week then!
Having the exact same problem here. I was also not able to identify the appointment that causes all this trouble
http://tiews.info/index.php?show=software/todayagenda
It's not a solution to your problem, but a very good, highly customisable way to display calendar and tasks items on the Today screen (so it won't work on all the panels). I'm also a business user so I find the default way of displaying calendar on WM is really a joke - big waste of screen space, only little information displayed.
Also having problems with the SE Panels
I'm also experiencing problems with the two stock SE Panels. It is definitely related to the calendar displays as when I clear (via activesync) my calendar, the panels function flawlessly. The moment I sync my calendar the Panels basically render the phone useless and I have to power off and on again. The start key does however work but with horribly retarded response times. The basic panel page or Today screen never refreshes though until such time as the phone is rebooted.
I actually really like the look of the two SE Panels and as a n00b to the Win Mo platform would love to be able to use them. I find it extremely frustrating that having just received my X1, I am unable to use it in the way I woud like to.
Any ideas, help, tips, upgrades, fixs in this regard would be appreciated!
Thanks
Hey Gang,
I'm new to the Rhodium, in the image of an ATT Tilt 2. Its a great machine. And remarkably I can get around the OS with TF3D turned off.
But here is where I have some issues that I didn't encounter with my Kaiser, tilt.
the CSettings application uses a BTOnOFF program. And when I hit the icon on the Titanium plug in. It gives me an error message that BT failed to turn off. Even though BT is not on. Also it won't turn it on either. Any suggestions, I have searched but haven't seen this issue.
I also like the CAnalogClock plug in. But it has to be at the top of the List otherwise it overwrites what is above it. But when its at the top, there is like a half inch till the Top Bar of Titanium. How can I fix that?
On My Old Kaiser, I could use File Explorer on my Notebook, to browse the folders, even including Windows on my Phone. I can't seem to do that now on the Tilt2? Any work arounds for that?
What is your favorite, working, solution for the top bar? I'd like some more colorful icons and functionality. Suggestions?
Its a bit odd to me that, the Kaiser I just gave my GF, has a more current OS than the new Tilt. I was rocking a 23064 release of WM6.5.1. And I have to say, that I loved the new bottom bar, with easy finger friendly buttons. And the new Contacts screen. And let's not forget the ability to have multiple Live accounts in Outlook. I have 3 email accounts I would like to monitor. But this version of Outlook will only handle 1 live account.
Lastly, when I turn the phone face down, the conference calling feature is not activated. Will this only work, if I have TF3D active?
Looking forward to making new friends on this board.
