[Q] Should I buy this LG-G2? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, i'm buying an 1 week used LG-G2, but this guy said he tried to upgrade the software to the G3 one and he failed and every time he tries to turn it on this screens appears (Picture is in the attachments) , he says it can be fixed by flashing it, so i came here to see if hes right or if anyone else had the same problem and found a way to fix this.

i think that only with JTAG you can flash it, i also think that that phone will never star, try to boot in recovery, if it boot in recovery, maybe the guy just flashed the wrong kernel

@raulitomat picture isnt really hd but I believe that there stands the udc fastboot right? If the pink lg logo comes first andthen that then its probably an kernel issue.
Try to flash another rom if you can boot inrecovery,
If that doesnt work try the go back to stock guide in the general forum or download the fastboot drivers and do fasboot flash boot boot.img
Just the same stuff as Stefan said
If you cant boot into recovery then you need to do download mode method or do
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Download an recovery for your g2 model, I suggest twrp recovery from dr87 I believed that was his name. You can adb push downloaded roms to your g2.

only you know how much you're willing to gamble... The Nigerians told me if I sent them $20 they'd mail me a check for $1,200,000. I don't think their check is worth 20 cents, so I'm not willing to gamble that it might be a real offer.
Make it a conditional sale, you'll buy it if you can fix it... meet the guy at the local LG repair center and get their opinion... have the $'s on-hand... You don't buy a used car without having a mechanic check it out..

I bought a phone stuck in fastboot and it works fine now
Take the risk if you want, it's your choice

ATT D800 Fastboot Loop No Recovery No Download Mode

Hello All,
I've been searching for hours. I had rooted my LG G2 weeks ago with no problems. I then un-rooted it and I thought reset it to factory. Today in Target I pulled it out of my pocket to make a call and it was black screened to Fastboot.
I have tried holding down Volume - and Power and entering recovery to reset to factory but it immediately goes to Fastboot loop.
I have tried holding down Volume + while plugging in USB for Download Mode but it immediately goes to Fastboot loop.
I have tried adb commands, error: device not found.
I have tried manually updating the Android drivers through Computer Management and selecting many of the Android Platform Sooner versions. My Win7 PC recognizes the phone as ADB Interface > Andriod Sooner Single ADB Interface in Device Manager.
I have tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 and flashed both laf.img and I cannot get into Download Mode.
What else can I do? Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks for your time!
hey same exact thing just happened to me. i had it rooted from earlier, but ended up keeping the stock rom on my AT&T LG G2 D800. What I think happened was ATT just pushed out an OTA update (not sure about other carriers), supposedly some small 15mb update to prepare for upcoming releases and despite declining the install, the phone of course did it anyways.
No recovery, no download mode, factory reset doesn't do anything.
Thanks AT&T! :good:
Are we completely boned here?
This worked for me

Follow this thread, I tried the TWRP terminal code and it worked. Let me know how it goes
Did anyone figure this out? I am stuck in fastboot mode. I can run fastboot commands, but thats about it.
I can't get to ADB, I can't get to recovery, I can't get to download mode. I reboot the phone and it goes immediately back to fastboot.
I've tried flashing recovery, the laf.img, and even rom's inside fastboot and nothing is seeming to work.

If you can't get adb access with either single sooner or pdanet drivers, you may have to resort to this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
(actually kind of sounds like fun to me)
if you're stuck in fastboot mode then you can simply use the fastboot commands to write the aboot, sbl1, boot, recovery, laf, rpm, tz and dbi partitions.
you can substitute stock recovery.img for a properly patched twrp/cwm img (renamed recovery). from there you should be able to boot into download mode... custom recovery.. or boot back up.

I found a site that had the backed up D800 .img files. I had to use Ubuntu to write them back to my device.. after like 15hrs of googling/writing on forums, I finally got my device to boot back up! lol..
of course there was a popup saying that my device was suspected of rooting and it won't update.. but who cares, it works now!

I have the same issue. Flashtool thinks my phone is a D801. It boots normally for a few seconds and keep rebooting. Im Reading, dowloading and trying every method around since yesterday afternoon with no luck. I did replace the .dll you provided but i have a different error now, something like mismatch different files and it shows both files names. I just got this phone from a friend. it shows d801 tmo versión in flashtool so i think he was messing around with any tmo based rom (if exits). So flashtool does not let me flash the phone because of this(Think this is a 801 tmo)
I also tried lg suppor tool but it never download the firmware. It get stuck on downloading firmware or checking phone settings (something like that), I found my cell model on the back on the phone so im pretty sure is a SL980. So what comboof files i can use? Do i still can use the.dll provided? Do i have to rename something?(btw...i did and didnt work).
Any other tip? Did i miss something? I have no phone now so im kinda desperate. Thanks in advance for any help.
Sorry for any mistake, english is not my first language.
I will try ti explain you later what i did to fix this issue

ok this is what i did to unbrick my phone in your same conditions, in some steps maybe i made some mistakes but i went to the fastboot mode and there i replaced all kernel files of ls980 to fix the issue:
first you have to proceed to back to stock your phone with the T-Mobile USA D80110C_1.kdz :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
now your phone is a full d801, it will boot the system but will be unstable, you must be fast to go to make the developer options and debug your phone, make it on plane and and charging mode, maybe you will be able to do it after some reboots, u must insist.
download the ioroot11 program to root your device, remember always that is unstable, your device will be recognized for not long time, so you have to open the ioroot program often until it recognize your device and root it with the program.
after this step, if your phone is rooted but is still too much ustable to use the adb command (i tried to sideload and push the recovery but it always made me a sideload error), download this program:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633941
is a simple tool to flash the recovery, it worked in my case, you have to install the recovery of the d801, in my case the philz recovery worked, if everything will be right, you will flash the recovery.
When i was inside the recovery i tried to flash the justin sprint t mobile through the sideload command but it didn't work, same with cm11, i flashed the ls980twrp.zip and when i tried to go to recovery again i was in fastboot.
from fastboot i used the command fastboot erase to erase the partitions: aboot, boot, dbi, laf, misc, persist, recovery, rpm, sbl1, tz.
to erase you must use the command fastboot erase aboot aboot for example, to erase the boot you must repeat boot(fastboot erase boot boot) and so on.
after erased all files i flashed the partitions of ls980:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/LS980/Stock_Firmware/zv7_partitions
cmd fastboot flash aboot aboot and so on, (i didn't flashed the primaryGPT).
when i flashed all these files i pushed power volume+ and i was in upgrade firmware, so i went back to stock with zv7tot and dll..
it wasn't simple to find a way to back to stock, i guess to made some mistakes but i fixed my issue in this way, i am responsible of what i do with my phone, i cannot guarantee the same results with the others

if you can go to twrp you can flash with adb, i wasn't able to go in recovery, just download with the d801 firmware, that explains why it was complicated
Thanks for all your help. I was able to erase everything via fastboot and my phone fell down and power off before flashing img and now is dead. what ToledoG28 said is exactly what I have been attempting to do to correct this issue but I am facing an additional issue. I had got to the point where I am running the d800 version on my ls980 and it is unstable as you said. I believed I had found a way out but when I connect to the computer no matter what I do I get no adb for no reason as far as I can tell.
makes no sense at all to me as I had adb before all this perfectly fine.

you gotta go do device drivers and your device will show up as some unknown device so you install the adb devices for your phone and then you should get adb to show.

[Q] Please help, I think I bricked my phone :(

I went to flash the latest version of Mahdi ROM, which I have done many times without a problem. This time, however, the patch.zip that I downloaded failed to install and then I was stuck in a fastboot. I found another post on here where someone said that putting certain commands into the prompt would fix it so I made sure that I had all the right files for my LS980 and went ahead and did it.
These are the commands I followed that got me to this point:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase aboot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash boot 6-boot.img
fastboot flash aboot 4-boot.img
fastboot flash recovery 10-recovery.img
fastboot flash laf 11-laf.img
fastboot reboot
But now I can't seem to bring up anything and I've tried powering it on, going into recovery, and going into download mode but none of those things seem to be working. When I plug it into my computer, it makes the little sound and it's recognized but only as an E: drive with one lonely folder in it titled "image" and then I get a bunch of pop ups saying that "You need to format the disk in drive S: (and other various letters) before you can use it".
I really hope someone here can help me and that I haven't completely ruined my phone because there's no way that I have the money or means to replace it.

I wasn't able to fix it at all and ended up going to Sprint and getting a new phone. I basically just said it stopped charging correctly and then I woke up one morning and it wouldn't turn on. They took it as a hardware issue and I got it replaced. Thank goodness for Total Equipment Protection. I'm not sure who your carrier is, but Sprint gives two free replacements (as long as it is hardware or something similar) and then it's $25 for every replacement after that. Needless to say, I am going full stock and sticking with Nova Launcher this time around.

I should have said I fixed the problem by flashing stock. All is ok now.
I just rooted again and am trying to figure out how to avoid the same problem, which happened when I tried to install TWRP via AutoRec. The thing is, I have the F320K version and it doesn't seem to like the custom TWRP in AutoRec. But I don't see an alternative, yet.
I'm missing something.

Install the Autorec specific to your model. There should not be any problem cause most of us used autorec to install twrp.

I did that, but got the white line issue and didn't see the fix from Cloudyfa until today. I guess I'll try it again, knowing I'll get the white lines. Kind of freaked me out a little.
I'll let you know after the process, tomorrow. Thanks.

(Bricked) White Lines After Installing Autorec, Now Stuck On Fastboot Mode (d802)

I installed autorec recovery.as soon as i booted I realized the presence of white lines which have never gone.I cant flash any zip file such as the JDI kernal. It cannot enter into download mode even after erasing recovery, laf, aboot, boot and flashing back stock aboot, boot and laf.I cannot see the LGE port so I cannot tot it back neither does kdz flashing work since it cannot go into download mode.Adb doesn't show up.
What I got is only fastboot + white lines (they only cleared up once by luck so I could see fastboot mode on the phone) .
Please help me Un-Brick it ASAP.
Thanks

What about TOT, does it require download mode.I don't see any COM port active to flash TOT.
-I need a confirmation on how to get COM port working so that I can TOT back to stock.
-Also do I need to flash all 12 partitions or are there specific ones to try (I tried laf, aboot and boot ) with 0 success
-I need a final verdict on the best way to handle this sensitive case

needing help with huawei Y3 II LUA-L03 (softbricked/bootloop)

hi everyone.
a friend of mine was trying to root his huawei but now it cant boot anymore.
he followed a wrong guide for the Y5 II and flashed a custom recovery (bootloader unlocked) TWRP.
now the phone its on bootloop with the stock OS. i think that its due to the wrong recovery flashed on the partition.
so im requesting help for this phone.
is there a solution for this?
can anyone bring me the stock firmware for this model?
i need it as update.app to extract the stock recovery, not as ota update (dload/update.zip) cuz i need to flash it using fastboot. the phone just can use fastboot cuz recovery partition is corrupted and normal boot doesnt work (bootloop).
plz someone can help me?
i already googled long for a solution but i can figure out how to make it work.
the phone comes with android 5.1 lollipop and is from chile.
pd: the phone can only enter fastboot by pressing vol+ and power. if i try to turn it on normally it bootloops. when on fastboot menu, if i select recovery, it bootloops. if i select fastboot, it works using adb from pc (i mean, i can download data to it, it doesnt boot via fastboot option).
if i just had the original recovery.img maybe i can flash it and make it boot normally again.

I don't know much about Huawei, but if firmware is available you should be able to flash back to stock. Personally, I would try to find the right TWRP and flash it...then it will boot and you can root of you still desire.
I'm not sure if this is the right one, but if bootloader is unlocked it won't hurt to try. https://twrp.me/devices/huaweiy300.html
