Hi, new here on this forum my wife bought my daughter a tab 4, itsversiin is 4.4.2 i wanted to root it but when i check the forum theres no SM-T231 on the roms available. I have a note 3 under omega 25.1 LP. Can anyone help me wih my daughters tab and suggest a good rom. Alsonif a root my daughters tab can she use "whatsapp"? Thanking you guys in advance.
There are almost no roms for T23X because it's not a very popular device and has even lesser-known SoC (Marvell PXA1088).
You can still root the device using odin to flash recovery and then SuperSU zip in the recovery. (Link to the recovery: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=28382 )
Root does not break whatsapp.
I have Samsung galaxy A5, SM-A500H. Running Android 5.0.2, downloaded from here. I want to root it.
The only root available right now AFAIK, is CF-Auto-Root, as described here for example. But this root breaks everything, all the apps stop running when you reboot the phone and you have reinstall the firmware, it doesn't work.
Is there another way to root my device?

the method you suggest, is great, i always wanted to know how that's done but can't do it, since it will require me to reflash the phone and reinstall the rom
This answer is for future users
first if you want to upgrade to 5.02
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-A500H/
I use the unknown carrier but you could pick any. just create an account there first.
and to root it, the only safe way, all other ways, it will break it, so again the only safe way to root that thing

didn't work before, now is working, download the apk, root it, takes 5 min, restart your phone, have a nice day
Has anyone been able to or know how to root either one of the tablets I got them both today from at&t the 10.1 inch and the 8.0. I haven't been able to find any info on these mainly how to root and install recovery. Can't find anything device specific to these. Any info would be greatly appreciated
@slumerican35 you can only root them on kitkat, not lollipop. I believe towelroot will work for both. And the AT&T models have locked bootloaders, so unfortunately no custom kernels (ie no CyanogenMod type ROMs) and no custom recoveries

Its easy download towel root from this website towelroot by geohot.
Now press the red symbol it looks like an opposite y press it and your device is rooted
Get Kingroot from this site, it works on lollipop.
towel root
towel root worked fine for me, after odin tar. file, sm t337a kk NK2, to bad there is no custom recovery.
anyway this device seems to be owned by few people, ALSO, can 5.1 be rooted permanently? or still temp'?
thanks guys.
Okay so I just got my hands on the N910U running 5.0.1. It is prompting me to update to 5.1.1 which as far as I can tell I can use the current CF Auto Root for this one to get it rooted. From there I should be able to install TWRP for this particular Note 4 along with the current 6.0.1 modem/bootloader/etc right? Or am I missing something here? I want to make sure I got everything down pat on getting this Note 4 nice and ready for it's owner who wanted me to get it nice romed and rooted!
Thanks in advance!
I'm a newbie at this, I've rooted a sm-p600 and jailbreak an ipad air.
I recently bought a galaxy tab a 10.1 sm-t580 and the s-pen sm-p580
I wanted to root the sm-p580 but is currently on android 7.0 and Chainfire does not have the file and honestly (don't know if cf auto root is a custom root or not) I don't want to the the TWR one because for what i'm using it it does not need that many stuff.
my note 10 broke, i was using it only for the ads and games. basically.
my questions. Is it possible to use the cf auto root file for the t580 on the p580?
I did the usb part and unlocked the oem, is oem the bootloader i see everywhere on my searches to root?
I apologize for both my english and grammar. Thank you in advanced!

It's absolutely pointless having the stock recovery on a rooted device as it can't do anything.
Installing twrp is probably the best mod you can do to an android device.
For backup purposes alone its well worth it and can save massive headaches should some unruly root app brick your device or some important system file gets accidentally removed.
It will be your saviour.

SuperSU V2.82 works on 7.1.1 nougat so I don't see why it wouldn't work on that tablet.
I have an SM-P550 and when i had 7.1.1 on it, I used SuperSU 2.82 and it worked just fine, the only problem was that the tablet lagged with nougat so I downgraded back to lollipop, But that isn't the fault of SuperSU.
