VERY informative! I had the same question.
As far as I know, there is no way to get GSM working.

this specific G900 has been the topic of quandary quite a bit today. I havent been able to find a solution for this one yet, but its likely a radio firmware limitation. Im pretty sure that it has the physical capability to run on GSM, but nobody has figured out how to get it working yet. This model isnt a good choice for GSM as of yet. We need a developer who is quite a bit smarter than I to figure the radio firmware hurdles

I can confirm that the sgh-T999v is most likely identical to the TMO variant T999.
The rooting method here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726725
is 100% working on my Wind/Mobilicity device.
That's all.
EDIT: Wow, I actually mis-spelled 'Canadian' in the tittle. How proud I make us all.
Good to hear, thanks for the confirmation! Hopefully SGH-T999 ROMS are compatible with the SGH-T999V and that development picks up
does that mean, though, that i can use Tmo roms on my wind phone? no one seems to be able to answer this for me for sure...
what about kernels? does it matter who's kernel i use? this stuff so confuses the hell out fo me and searching for answers just confuses me more because no one seems to be posting about this... everyone seems to be so far past talking about simple crap like this...
thanks for any help you can offer me, anyone

Does the free SIM unlock method still work, like on the S3 and Note II?

It's been delayed in Canada for a week, so I can't. Getting it May 3 now.
Well, I'm pretty sure most people are getting them directly from their desired carrier, or the international versions and would have no need to test this.
Not trying to nitpick but your title and forum choice suggest you have a solution rather then a question.
It might be a stupid question but I need to know....
Would this work on my phone if it isnt available in my region yet??... I am in Bolivia and there never updates !!

If you have LTE find the LTE version otherwise find the Exynos version. Tutorials on flashing is everywhere on this forum, just use the search box on top right.
If you never did this before best advise is to go to Service Center to get them updated it for you, otherwise you are on your own.

The XEO seems to work with all countries pretty well, only way to truly know is to flash it. Can't see it having much change..
I have an N900T that I'm using with t-mobile in the US. Now I also have an N9005 that I got when I thought I lost my phone. I'm trying to figure out which to use and which to get rid of. I'm fairly happy with my N900t except for the fact that on all the MM+ ROMs my GPS doesn't lock, so I have to use lollipop.
With the N9005 I could use the newer ROMs, and hopefully have GPS working, but I won't have LTE in the US. So my question is, is anyone using N9005 on t-mobile in the US? How is the speed, especially as you travel around. In my area, LTE is faster than 4G/H+, but 4G/H+ is still fast enough - 3Mbps. But I heard that t-mobile is getting rid of hspa+ in some areas, or maybe already did... How fast is the N9005 in the US?
Thanks!
In this thread probably .

Thank you very much for your answer. In this thread I'm not asking about Phronesis or GPS (I did that, for example, here.) And I did
read all the MM+ threads up and down to try to find anyone who gets a GPS lock with N900T. But, I might have missed
something, so any new info is great. Thanks.
But here I'm simply asking if anyone is using N9005 on T-mobile in the US, and what their experience is.
Recently got this phone online from Ebay, did not realize that the phone was locked to sprint. Can it be unlocked without account details?

What do you mean under it? Is it locked to the carrier Sprint? (sorry, but I'm not familiar with the phone carriers outside my country)
Edit: if yes, then you may find this link useful
https://itoolab.com/unlock-sim/sim-unlock-software/#w2
It contains some info about softwares that can unlock the device. I haven't tested them yet, bc I didn't have any situations where I faced with an issue like this.
I hope this helps, if no, then we'll come up with other ideas.

Finished trying those, sadly, none of them work
I found this post on the forum, it's older, but may work.
