Hello, my name is (...) how can I help you? There you are again
When is the Android L update for Moto G 2013?
A very goodmorning to you
At the moment we know that the update will be released this month to Europe at the same time for both Moto G/X series. We don't know the exact release date.

Seems legit!
It will be at least October before it is released. Google is not allowing any Android L apps (using the new api) until then.
What I think is that company's are already using an release source in secret, not accessible for us. But I don't believe September...

The API is public. There is no need for it to be secret. But it is subject to change so they aren't allowing apps to be published on the Play Store until it is finalized.
well if google wants to play catch up with ios8, a septembet release might be on the way for L but then again, the October relase according to the API regulations on playstore is legit too. I hope L will run well on our moto g

I did not even hear about when it will be released officially by google. No timelines or schedules. Just 2-3 dev preview on nexuses. That's all. I think it will be released till the end of this year. May be someday in november.
But of course we won't get it this month. No way.
You guys are right, I just wanted to show a rumour on several sites...

I think that the google play edition will first receive the android L. Just like the google play edition was the first one to receive the kitkat 4.4.4 as first

Yes, Google has already the device trees for the GPE's so it won't take a long time to edit it so I think we get Android L really fast after release.

Q(by @于皓-Hone) : To @motorola @司軒軍 @吳海東 , ME525(Defy) has already got its 2.3, when will ME722(A953) and ME860(Atrix) get their 2.3?
A(by 吳海東): Q3.
The news comes from the Sina microblog : http://weibo.com/hotane
PS:I put my trust in 吳海東 , just await that day comes with hope
The earlier news: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1055831 is "FALSE", for that lady has later declared that she just mistakes MS2 with DEFY . The fact is DEFY got its 2.3 in 5.16 , not MS2 !
God, I love my Phone I hope we will get it as well

sounds like good news....well let them patch the asia pacific models with 2.2.2 first. after that i suppose i can show some optimism
nevertheless, q3 is late. VERY late, considering the Desire Z will be updated in june, and the galaxy s by the months end!! that would be close to a year since the phone has been released. i dun suppose we'll see many updates for this phone before the phone turns 18 months
Not that I don't put any trust in your 吳海東 ...
I just don't have any trust in an 2.3 upgrade for de EU Milestone 2...

the china mobile version of the MS2 is a different model - doesn't it use like a supermodded MIUI? Don't trust Motorola - liars
It seems like the chinese moto guys like to talk a little bit more than the european guys....maybe u could ask them for details about the unlockable-bootloader-update scheduled for "late" 2011...
Q3 is way too late considering the competition the HTC Dezire Z. But then again, something is better than nothing.
I hope (against hope) that it will also have something like an unlockable bootloader.

China version just don`t have GMS services and add some useful app, others are the same with EU/DE/etc. version !
But we can getback GMS easily by a special update.zip.

I would point out that June is the end of Q2, so if the reports are right, then the update would likely come within 1-3 months of the HTC update.
What I'm hoping is that the EU release will precede the Chinese release, as I believe the 2.2.2 update has done, which means that it could even be Q2 (or more realistically early Q3).
If only Motorola would actually give us a rough schedule, then we wouldn't be speculating. However, you can see it from their point of view - if they said it was coming in September, then they would have loads of people moaning that they have to wait 4 months for the update, and if they ended up delaying for some reason, then they would get even more stick.
Cheers,
Steve.
Any chance of this update unlock the bootloader?

If 2.3 do release in China first, can you please start a post here teaching us how to do that? thanks

It's not too early to say that SE 's poor customer support days are over. They are working on ICS updates to their single core devices already. I am sure we've already been really satisfied with the bundle of updates being rolled up by SE, but this is incredibly good news.

i honestly wasnt expecting ICS for SEX devices
I'm still mad about the face unlock thing. No James Bond retinal scan? Lame.
Good news though. It's about time SE got with it.
Awesome, Really gives me confidence that SE is not that bad after all, Never been a fan of using another ROM, As I love Sony Ericsson's, I will use another ROM once the Xperia Play is no longer updated or supported by SE which I hope never happens while I use an Xperia Play as my primary device.
I always had confidence in SE. <3 this company and their phone. Now, if only we could get it as stock ICS and not with their UXL overlay. Maybe with ICS it'll be much better looking, have to wait and see

Your timing error is what made the article irrelevant though. Your outdated article greatly contradicts the new one that SE made ... making people believe that there is no such ICS update when really SE confirmed the updates after the launch of ICS source codes.
It's like positing an article about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus telling people it's a 8mp camera and not 5mp but using a 2 month old article as reference....
I've been finding a bunch of posts regarding when the Razr HD will be getting KitKat. We have been waiting a while, so I figured I'd make a tracking thread so everyone can know when KitKat is finally released.
The last piece of information we have really gotten came from David Schuster, senior director at Motorola Mobility in Illinois.
This post alone sparked a great many Android articles... Needlessly so, IMO
One G+ post fed:
Android Central
Into Mobile
Softpedia
Phone Arena
DroidLife
Seems I'm not the only one starving for some news.
me too I'd like to know when we'll receive kitkat...a question, i'm from Italy but i purchased my razr hd in Uk.
My version is 98.21.22003.xt925.CEE-Retail.en.EU..Will I receive the upgrade as well or the release is only for Verizon users?
David Schuster did say a couple of days ago that the "M and HD are in Verizon labs currently". And that "Labs" can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
It's in the same Google+ post linked in the OP. It's toward the bottom of the comments.

It still isn't clear weather a completed version is in their labs for testing and approval OR Moto's version was submitted to them for them to add bloat, test, fix, test, add more bloat, test, etc. I think once Verizon puts out a soak with their junk on it, then we may be getting truly close.
* This is only my interpretation on how this process is working and may be wrong.

Sounds more hardware than software related. I doubt they'd hold an event (or waste time at one) to announce a software update for phones released back in '12. They didn't for the newer, more relevant phones, and with no other company calling an event to announce "we've released KK for you on XYZ phone" it would come off as very pompous.
...am curious to see what their next model phone is though...
So possibly the firmware will be released before the new phone comes out?

Thats really great but isn't it the possibility that Xiaomi bakes it on their sever and then give it to google and then they check and distributes.

It's what I said in the beginning of this thread, that probably its baked at Xiaomi, guided by Google, final checked by Google and then the OTAs are hosted by them,
factory images are hosted on Xiaomi BTW

Yeah you are right
Well whoever is handling it, the speed should be a lot better. Rolling out monthly security patch at the last week of the month does not seem like 'android one' experience.

Actually the November updated has been just rolled out which is under two weeks after Pixels got it. Don't know about other Android One devices but updates for Xiaomi Mi A1 have been excellent so far.
My only concern is that they don't publish a changelog when you receive an update - just a few generic phrases, like "performance has been improved and bugs have been fixed".
