Try this :
C:\Scoter Kitchen\Utilities\TOOLS>prepare_imgfs.exe "MioP550 - Osc260A 05_P09.nb0" -n -acer
C:\Scoter Kitchen\Utilities\TOOLS>viewimgfs.exe imgfs_raw_data.bin
Why?
The Mio .nb0 is an proprietary format. Just as you noted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374077
"The only special thing, that is has 512+8 (data+spare) bytes structure. Tadzio's imgfs tools can handle that. Below is some example output."
This version of imgfs tools need -acer switch to cope with this format.
hope it helps.

I would suggest to try the tool Haret first.
It's a nice tool to do some investigation on hermes.
There should be some threads, with instructions how this could be done.
There are some other tools flying around, search for itsme...
Smart guy who wrote a lot of useful stuff!!
http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/tools.html
You see there's no need to disassemble the device and fiddle around with little cables (at least right now ).
Anyway, if you like it check out the JTAG stuff.
No problem to read out any block of flash of course!
Good luck!
scholbert
Great thanks for your answer,
It appera that the itsutils software cannot dump the IPL !
I will investigate with haret ( linux tool)
If anyone have other informations, i'm OK
Thanks a lot

See this thread for information about JTAG on hermes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2192131
First you'll need one of these LPT-adaptors to get access to hardware.
Please have a look in the manual for the LPT-pinout.
Then you may use MSP-Herm.exe to dump any area of NAND.
Unfortunately the tool only allows to dump to screen, not to a file.
There's also a detailed table of NAND-layout, at least of the first blocks.
Block 0, Page 0 is were IPL starts (obviously at the beginning ...)
Good luck!

Hi, everyone!
I'm searching any information about imgfs.
I do know that there are a lot of tools, compiling imgfs from dump. I want to understand how do they work. It is very important for me.
If anyone obtain usefull information - post it please.
If there are some sourses that are not using cecompr_nt.dll - you are welcome!
These are the questions, that I cant find answers:1) The LZX compression has 2 versions. Which one s used?
2) How XPR compression is done?
3) How the imgfs is forming from dump?
4) Are there any mathematical version of LZX?
Dont post messages like "Why?"/"This tool is cool - use it!" and so on!
The best course of action would be to PM maimaich/bepe about this.
Ok. anyway I've got no contact info to ask them.
If you've got any contact data - pm them to me pls.
Please tell me how to disassemble it?
At some point I can not continue!
since I am not allowed to post links, try following :
