With my Nexus 10 running ThunderKat 4.4.4, I recently discovered in Settings - Display that there is a Cast Screen button. When clicked I can connect to my Chromecast and whalla, my Nexus 10's screen is up on my TV!
Is this a unique feature to the Thunderkat ROM or is this pretty much in all custom KK ROMs? Maybe just in CM based ROMs?
My Verizon LG G2 is on stock-based Malladus' 4.2.2 ROM, ver 1.2.4 and I'd can't do this, but would love to. What has to happen? (I've searched the LG forums without luck, can someone point me in the right direction?)
@gbeardmore the function is unique inncyanogenmod roms probably also cherry picked but stock roms dont have it. But I believe you can also do it on stock with chromecast, https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6059461?hl=en g2 is one fro the couple supported devices.
Its not implenented in settings on stock.
It's available on LG stock firmware, tested on my D800
> 4.2.2
Go to 4.4.2 and you'll be able to cast.

I am a big fan of AOSP roms and CyanogenMod in particular, I bought my G2 D802 only after the CM was released for it
Unfortunately for me I received one ****ty problem with CM (or any AOSP Rom) - A phone call is interrupted while I'm moving (usually about 3 minutes after I started to move). I think it happens exactly when phone switching from one base station to another, because it tend to happen in particular places
I tried to install different AOSP roms (any version of CM, Vanir, etc.), different radios from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451426 , nothing helped
Has anyone faced a similar problem? or have any ideas how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for any help!
P.S.: any rom on the basis of stock lg d802 is works fine (e.g. CleanROM XE)
I've been trying to get Paranoid Android running on my D800 but I'm constantly stuck on the boot animation. I let it sit for quite a while. I've used 3 different modems and none seem to do the trick. Does anyone know where I can get a stock KK modem for the D800?
Free cookies for the first to help! Or brownies. Maybe cupcakes? Pie? Everyone likes pie. No, not the Pie controls in custom roms. Square dancing? Okay I'm not making sense now.
Never mind, I found it.
SEARCH, YOU NOOBER.
So the G2 supposedly supports VoLTE and I see a bunch of instructions online on how to do enable it... if you are running a stock OS. The Internet claimed that the setting should be under the Mobile Networks page in settings but I have not found anything like this setting yet. Am I just blind for AOSP based roms? Or do I have to flash something (like a new radio) to enable the option? I'm currently running Paranoid Android 4.4 (20140629) and my radio is 24A (I think that's the right number?) There's also the option to enable it on verizon's side but wanted to make sure I had the software to support it before pressing... maybe I need to do it the other way?
Thanks!
Ive been playing around with AOSP on my G2 for a few days, and am curious if this is available on any of the builds?
Hey guys I have not seen this in the Q&A section and I want to make sure I do it right.
I only recently rooted my Nexus 7, been running stock but decided I wanted to have Multi Windows like I have on my Note 4. I have not decided on a ROM as I was looking for the best one so I am still running Stock Rooted 5.0.2 I saw Omni ROM and I think that this would be the best ROM to attempt this as I tried the Xposed method and of course got the boot loop.
I see that currently on OmniROM.com that this device is still running on KK 4.4.4 according to the nightlies. I assume I would need to find a KK stock ROM and flash it on to my Nexus to downgrade back to KK in order to install this ROM, or will this install with TWRP even though I'm running Lollipop?
If so does someone have a quick link to the Stock KK files? I used Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit to root my device as I did not feel like going through the same hassel as when I rooted my Droid RAZR so I would just tell that to use those files instead.
I am always flashing ROMs on my Note 4 but I have never gone backwards and I think it was possible to install KK ROM once you upgrade to lolly but not use a lolly ROM if your still on KK.

I don't think anyone has done a compatibility check to see what happens if you run a 4.4 build on a device with 5.x bootloaders. It might work, it might do weird things (usually with sensors/wifi)
Multiwindow never got merged, if you want it you'll have to build for yourself and cherrypick it. There were some remaining issues with the patch we never had time to fix, we got too busy with other stuff, and xplodwild wants to rewrite the whole thing after finding a better way to implement it.
Hi. this is the first time i ask something here but i really need a helping hand..
i have a chromecast and a s4 i9500 running resurrection remix (based on cyanogenmod 12.1).
i have been using it and everything is fine. The last rom i used before an aosp one (resurrection remix) was aurora lolillipop 7 (based on tochwiz 5.0.1 ported from note 4).
In that rom (aurora lollipop 5.0.1) screen mirroing was perfect when using the app "chromecast" and i choose to cast the screen, but now im using resurrection remix (base on cyanogenmod 12.1 so its aosp and not touchwiz) when i use the same app "chromecast" to cast the screen it does cast it but in weird negative colors.
It has no lag, except when playing big games but we know that. Everything is fine when mirroing my s4 screen but with weird "negative" or inverse colors.
is there a solution for this? i want to keep using aosp roms based on cm 12.1 but i read that this problem with screen mirrroing is universal to all cyanogenmod roms (no matter the build or the phone).
Thank you all who read me! (please help me find a solution or just tell me that if i want to mirror my screen i will need to return to touchwiz.)
Anyone?
