This happens if you flash your phone with a ROM that is not intended for your region.
Let's say, you have a Hong Kong version phone, and you flash it with UK version.
That's when you get a Null IMEI . . .

Maybe you can clarify to us how or what happend prior to this problem. I dont think Flashing different region affects IMEI(I did use different regions firmware to get back my IMEI temporarily) but maybe flashing firmware not intended for your model or downgrading from latest version to lower one can cause this.
Always make a IMEI Backup before playing with the phone's firmware.

Describe the issue or no-one will help. Is your unit g3/g4? Have you tried unlocking it and destroyed the security area? We can't help if you don't ask properly...

the IMEI now is 00440000...... etc... and i would restore the original..

My guess is that you're facing the "Data Crashes..." problem!
Meaning that whenever you insert your SIM card the phone shows that message and it stops working.
So 0044 looks like the radio lost the GSM settings and now is blank. In
that area are the gsm tuning parameters too.
Options:
1.Have a look here and try to get it back in life.
or
2.Send the device first to repair and then unlock it and enjoy.

Hi after bricking my gf phone i have managed to bring it back to life :d but problem has appeared
her imei currently does not match the one on the box and phone(under the battery) and it does not connect to mobile networks
is there a file i could edit before flashing to match the imei on back of the phone ?

Don't use this with no IMEI!
Only use with no BASEBAND not no IMEI and BASEBAND. It causes more damage.

It's technically not possible, but if you want "device software n9005 mod for n900l" possible with some custom roms, but not recommend install "Custom ROM". Custom ROM's trips "KNOX flag" and it can't return to back (0x0).

Yes u can , but u could lose some specific features from your carrier . Link that you posted is for another carrier just so u know.

You can also use g935f frimware on your FD with no problem ,dual SIM will work fine
But for now stick with FD ,just use Sammobile and select your model again and search only for country without carrier name . Use one of the latest.
For example this one

from the list i dont see Portugal country been listed , just use any latest one. u can use russian as well then change to your language
