How to change region code? T235. - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greeting, guys.
I've on my device (tab4 7.0 sm-t235) XEH region. I've flashed it with SER firmware, make all resets. And now in flash mode i can see SER code but in KIES it's still XEH.
How can i totally change region code to receive official updates?

Help ALB CSC

I have galaxy s4 i9505 and after region changing my csc is ALB, i can't get updates. What can i do? It is multi-csc... Region SEB, but CSC ALB.
So I will not get updates?
Hi
I had the same problem, I don't know why it happens.
I also have GT-I9505 and at first I had mismatch of PDA and CSC, my PDA was ME2 and CSC was BTU so Kies told me it doesn't support my firmware and thus I couldn't get updates. That was on android 4.2.2.
Then I installed the DBT (android 4.3) stock rom of Germany but when I entered Kies the CSC was still BTU and didn't change even after a factory reset so again I couldn't get updates, not via Kies nor OTA. Afterwards, I installed at last the BTU stock rom and everything was OK.
The Kies no longer told me that my firmware is unsupported and I received the MK8 update a week ago and gonna receive the new update which was released yesterday in a few days. Moreover, I forgot to mention that the Knox flag wasn't tripped after installing the BTU rom.
My suggestion is you install the rom which matches the CSC of your device because the CSC doesn't change after installing a stock rom so you have to adapt yourself to the CSC.

You can try flashing (via Odin) the new update which was released two days ago (MKE).
It was released for Germany and France for now but soon will be rolling to everyone.
I'm almost sure it won't trip the Knox flag if you do everything right.

Yeah that's an option also.
Also, did you try factory reset after the installation? If not, do it. It sometimes helps, in my case it didn't help to change the CSC to DBT when I installed the German rom.
I hope Kitkat will arrive soon to our devices. I can't wait to see the improvements and how did they change the TW.

[Q] impact of flashing a different country/product code?

Hello everyone,
I've tried searching but I did not find a specific answer to my question...
what is the impact of flashing a different country code to my device if PDA, CSC and MODEM versions are identical (not just the last 3 characters... but all the string)?
I'm asking the question because I wanted to factory reset my device and upgrade to the latest version. I have a TTT (Trinidad and Tobago) country code... but I saw that there was a more recent version on sammobile with EON code (also Trinidad and Tobago).
I flashed the device... reset factory default... and it's working perfectly fine.
When I connect my device to my computer, I can still see the TTT country code in Kies... and Kies does not give me any error.
And status is "official".
Will I encounter any problem in the future because I manually updated with a different country code firmware file?

Yes , in Persian forums , they said you should install same base code , for example you can install firmwares with same XXU or XCU and you can't flash XCU on XXU or other same situations . it may be cause of Knox or other security reasons or ... on new Galaxy devices
because there isn't new middle east firmware of my device base code , i can't try and don't know if it works or not

Hi. Yes our device are made in Vietnam , but regional Codes are different because of regional languages and some other regional settings.
it has (G530HXXU1ANL4) firmware installed and i want to upgrade to ( G530HXCU1AOA2) or newer one for our regional (middle east) , but base code in here installed firmware is (XXU) and (XCU) of new firmware (look at G530HXXU1ANL4 and also G530HXCU1AOA2) . we can't install XCU on XXU firmware of device and we see fail notification in Odin at start of flashing . but these are for middle east and Persian support firmware and i don't know for other regional , for example we can use some other regional but there isn't our language in that regional firmware , So we have to wait for releasing new firmware for our regional base code
good luck

so if you want to upgrade Indonesian version (march) , first must Khazakstan firmware ?!

which rom now you using
i have model number g530a ud or ez works can u find 4.4.4 or firmware or way to by pass it
It just happened to me, when upgrade over the air and it different on PDA/Baseband , such G350HXCUxxxx then your country G350HXXUxxx, it will be failed and guest what : you're still on last firmware (4.4.4) but your wifi become doesn't work!
So I tried re-flash by odin, and still failed!
The soulution is look at about phone > baseband (PDA), then find one a simillar PDA here : http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G530H/
If your baseband is G350HXCUxxx, you have to download G350HXCUxxx too (no matter what it's from another country/carrier).
Then flash your new firmware by odin. Done! You're on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop!
unable to flash 5.0.2 stock ROM
phone is network locked, the only custom Rom that works via recovery mode installation is MIUI. All other 5.0.2 custom rom's installed via recovery fails to boot.
Odin fails to flash 5.0.2 stock ROM, it fails while writing at the very beginning itself
is this normal?
do i need to update kernel and recovery to be able to flash 5.0.2
smartswitch does not detect 5.0.2 upgrade though it is available offline for download (sammobile)
need to find if there is a software method for network lock removal
Update: was able to flash 5.0.2 stock ROM via ODIN but it worked only for a specific region (SKZ) firmware, still there is an issue of not being able to install custom ROM's will give it a try again

Changing CSC Without ROOT!

Hey! My issue is to somehow change the CSC without root on my device. I live in Hungary. I bought my phone at carrier (T-Mobile) my original CSC is TMH. When Marshmallow released for Poland i did manage to put it on my device. Now... because XEO is a Multi-rom after a clean install my CSC went to TPH (Portugal) I searched for how to change csc without root (in this case XEO) but im failed to do it.
So guys, is there any option to do it?

it is not similar; we are here talking about the only PIT available for us, OXX, which includes XEO, ROM, SIO etc but default one seems to be TPH, and factory reset brings us always to TPH

I had to flash 5.1.1 BTU to get rid of TPH. From there on, I came back to my original CSC. Therefore, I changed my CSC from TPH to SIM without root.
Edit: if I understand correctly, you can't flash BTU over TPH and then your original over BTU?

Yes,but i went from TPH to BTU and then from BTU to SIM. That's why I don't understand why you can't. Flash 5.1.1 from BTU in Odin, do a factory reset after BTU flash and TPH will be gone.
On older Samsung phones there was a code that you dial in the dial pad, which opened a menu so you can chose your CSC, but I don't know if it still works on the newer phones.

right after ODIN flash, NOT auto rebbot, however GO to recovery instead? and wipe all the things, and rebbot, to initial setup?

Keeping OTA updates after STOCK ROM update via ODIN

Hi all, I've had a look and can't seem to find anything on the forums, but if you can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated!
I've been flashing for years but never really been in this situation, as this is the first phone I've not rooted.
So here it is:
I've a completely stock, never-rooted S7 Edge on the XEU CSC.
I'm not getting the latest update and I'd like to have it, I'm stuck on Beta 5 (I was a part of the Beta Program).
I'd like to flash the latest availiable 7.0 firmware in ODIN.
My question is:
Would I still get OTA updates AFTER I've flashed the firmware in ODIN considering my phone is COMPLETELY STOCK and has NEVER been rooted?
Thank you very much!
P.S Sorry again if I've missed something in the forums, I tried searching and couldn't find an answer.
Thank you!
Stock roms get OTA updates. Only rooting breaks that.
Yes you would continue to get OTA when flashing update via Odin.

You will get OTA updates on the XEU timeline. Your CSC is XEU and it will stay XEU if you flash Official Nougat. Hence, if BTU then get updated in the future, you will have to wait until it is released for XEU

So as long as I update to an XEU firmware I'd still get the updates? But not if I update to a BTU one?

Hello,
I have a brand new S7 Edge, non-rooted. I would like to have the official Nougat, but the update by OTA ist still not available for my device. I would try it with Odin, but where can I get the official firmware (german, non-branding device (DBT?))?
Thanks for your help

So you must wait until it´s released.......or you can flash via odin the BTU(OXA) Nougat or the (german)Vodafone VD2.(if you flash the BTU(OXA_MultiCSC), you will get the active DBT CSC)(but flash the normal CSC not Home_CSC)

When you flash official Nougat, you are flashing OXA CSC. This CSC is a "multi" CSC which contains multiple CSC. This OXA CSC actually contains BTU, XEU, NEE, DBT and a few more.
If you flash a multi CSC and you are already on one of the contained CSC (So in your case, you are on XEU CSC and flashing a "multi" CSC that also contains XEU) then your CSC will not change, your phone will see that you are coming from XEU CSC and so it will pick that CSC when you flash the multi CSC.
You won't actually have BTU CSC, which means you will only receive updates when XEU CSC receives them. BTU normally receives updates before XEU so most people like to change to BTU. It isn't a must though.
So to clarify, if you flash official Nougat, you will get OTA updates when XEU CSC users receive it. If you want to CHANGE your CSC to BTU then that involves multiple flashes.

Thank you!

Hey,
My phone was on the XEU csc code and not getting the nougat update either. I am not rooted either. I wanted to update to nougat. So I went to sammobile and downloaded the BTU firmware. I downloaded the newest lollipop version so as to make it update to nougat ota. When flashing I read some where that to keep ota functionality not to flash csc home in odin but just the normal csc file that is inter zip folder along with the other files. Once flashed and phone had been setup, I went to settings and about phone and checked for updates, my phone then proceeded to update to nougat sucesfully.

Your welcome, just to let you know, I should of said this will completely wipe your device so do a backup of your photos and things on your phone memory and just take your sd card out to be safe.

I've applied the late January 2017 BTU update via Odin and used the regular CSC file (not home CSC) which wiped everything out and all is working well - but I would have expected the latest BTU update to have been applied OTA and it hasn't shown as available. My CSC is still showing up as XEU on the phone too which I guess is the cause for this? Did I do something wrong when applying the BTU update?

So I have the XEU and I'm prepared to flash twice in order to change the CSC. Which firmware should I first flash in order to keep the BTU CSC when I flash that secondly?

You flash anything that is not a part of the OXA CSC
After that, if you flash OXA you will be BTU
