Hi all,
Planning to upgrade to either G2,G3 or G pro 2. Could you please provide your inputs on which is the better phone among the three on day to day usage. I have read many reviews, but I feel first hand user experience Is that what matters. I prefer battery life, big screen and camera. Please provide your thoughts on these phones and are they worthy upgrade from optimus g pro.

Swap Note 10.1 for LG G Pad 8.3?

So I've recently been thinking that my 10.1 is a litle too large for my usage, although my wife's Tab 3 7" is a little too small...enter LG's new G Pad 8.3.
Specs look great and reviews, although few, seem good as well.
I travel for business 2 to 3 days per week and don't take a laptop as I feel the Note 10.1 has been a great alternative. I watch movies on it when I'm on the plane. I do take notes using S-Pen, but there are plenty of pens and note taking apps that would suffice. I don't use the S-Pen for anything else.
So all in all, I'm looking for similar performance, but not as small as a 7".
BTW...on a spec by spec comparison site, it seems that the LG delivers slightly more than the Note 8.0. Also, from what I've read, there doesn't seem to be a Note 8.0 2014 Edition coming anytime soon and the LG is here now.
Thoughts...comments (constructive would be appreciated)...anything I'm missing??
Im thinking for a move to sell my note 10.1 cuz it seems samsung is not going to update it so im thinking about either nexus 7 13 or lg g pad 8.3 , g pad 8.3 has pretty same features like touchwiz ones but it also suffers from lack of dev support and horrible update schedule by LG so i dont want other device without updates
I think the G-pad 8.3 would be a good choice, given your stated preferences. Just don't expect frequent updates or tons of dev support.
So...
Picked up the LG yesterday and my initial impressions are:
Super fast and smooth. Scrolling from screen to screen is very fluid...far vetter than the Note 10.1. Quadrant score is will above 9,000, whereas my Note 10.1 is somewhere in the mid 5,000's consistently. No lag...not even worth mentioning on the Note 10.1.
Overall I'm really happy with it, but.....
While I thought the 8.3" screen was going to do it for me, I think I need to stay with a 10.1". So, wanting to get rid of all the lag on the Note 10.1, perhaps with the zippiness of the LG, staying under $400, what should I be looking at? The Xperia Z doesn't look too bad and still gets me the goal of being lighter and somewhat faster, albeit not a ton.
Thoughts?
Sell the LG and the old Note and buy a new Note.

[Q] [Help] Need owners to review the Grand 2

Hi All,
I want to buy a grand 2 for my wife. Gone through the phone specs, reviews and prices online. And I found that this is a good phone which can be considered a safe buy phone with decent specs (oppo find 5 mini was good too but its a new phone and cant trust it like I can trust samsung)
I have read couple of user opinions on gsmarena that they are having issues such as heating, 3g not working on both sims, lagging etc etc. So i thought of taking the outputs from the xda fraternity.
Can some of you grand 2 owners tell the pros and cons of this phone if you have used it for long enough?
Thanks in advance for your help.

3G can work only in one SIM card and that is by design and not a fault. No noticeable lags unless you have lots of downloads, No heating issues observed. Camera, Music OK, Best of all, Kitkat coming soon. Using it since march.
please click on thanks if you think I helped

Buy a nexus5 which is near the price of grand 2 but grand 2 aint bad. I have this phone and i must say its better as a lady phone. No lags. Battery is very good(improved with an update) and kitkat could be in the doors. People who have lags dont actually know how to use the phone very well, like they dont even know the task manager. Or if they are talking about thr mininal lag of touchwiz then its common on every samsung device that has touchwiz but it doesnt bother that much. And no. There is no heating issue. I even use my phone playing a video with speakers while charging and i get minimal heat

I would have gone for nexus 5 itself but in India, its 30000+ INR whereas I am getting brand new grand 2 in 18200 INR. There is a huge monetory difference here

Moto G was my first choice. but read few user opinions on gsmarena.com that it is having network issues and people couldnt find proper service for it. Also the warranty replacement was an issue.
So thought of going for a safer bet i.e. grand 2.
However oppo find 5 mini was almost on the same range 20000 INR. But cant trust a phone which hasnt been in market for long time.
I never had an issue with my moto g but there are different moto gs out there that isnt well built too. Im lucky i had a good one. Grand2 aint bad as a choice but the lack of custom development is the problem right now unless we get kitkat and some might get working. Anyway its your wifes phone yo grand2 isnt that bad. Its like another note2 without some specific things. I have this with sview cover and its good for women lol

lol. Last i customized my wife's micromax canvas 2 and thanks to the low quality development going on for that phone, it got even more screwed. So if she allows me to touch her phone to make a call, that would be enough
Edit: Just checked out the development and original development sections for grand 2. That land is totally barren. :-\
Maybe people are waiting for official kitkat then start. I bought this coz it had potential specs but damn. Check out galaxy mini or ace2, development there is like freaking huge. Here.. Its like the s duos (worst phone i had).. But lets see and wait if kitkat arrives.. Ill give samsung till july and if they wont then last samsung ever.

I own a 2.5 years old s2 and development for it is still going frantically.
My wife was actually happy to hear that there is no development for this phone and I won't tinker with her phone.
Any news about official kk for this one?
N yeah, bought one already. Gotta get the Sims cut to start using it. It's beautiful :beer:
Thanks for giving your inputs. They sure helped me in making up my mind for this phone.

Im quite sure we wont getting kitkat this month. There was just an update available recently and its jelly bean. A god damn jelly bean. Im just happy about the leather back and the thinness of the phone and the size. Even if its large i can easily grip my hand on it for calls and text..
Any unofficial kitkat would do for me but official one would be better since i got n5 already and a couple of phones.. I want to spam samsun with our kitkat update now -.-

In my opinion, dont get those xperia devices. The design looks bad, and C is sluggishdont know with m2 i dont have it. S4 mini is good but one thing is that its mini. Moto g is a good phone with good battery and specs but isnt as large as grand 2. As for grand dont but it since it looks ugly and old now compared to grand2. Grand2 has good battery life and has a big screen and kitkat is on final stages. In my opinion, ill choose between moto g(price battery and performance but not size since its arnd 4.5/4.6 inch and software updates are good), grand2(big screen battery performance and has 5.3inches and kitkat is on its way(maybelast update) and bad thing is its touchwiz)

I was also thinking that only that moto g and grand 2 should be the one amongst them to buy but I am still in a confussion
Moto G
Pros :-
1) Direct from google getting the update the same or the second day
2) have amoled screen
3) battry life
cons :-
1) it is not available in shops(in india) we have to buy it from flipkart
2) smaller screen size
3)don't like the stock androind icons and all
Grand 2
Pros :-
1) Screen size
2) Ram (not matters due to touchwiz)
3) Expandable Memmory
Cons :-
1) Samsung is very late in updates
2) Touchwiz is very laggy and SG Grand 2 lags I heard from my friends
Can any one tell the estimated price of moto g and grand 2 by November, 2014 currently it is
Moto G :- 13999
Grand 2 :- 20,999

You got the moto g price right. However I bought grand 2 in 18.2k in Bangalore.
My wife is using it for over 2 weeks and it's really good. The only issue I found was with the dual sim setting. Even if internet is set for sim2, a simple call on sim1 will automatically switch the whole thing to sim1 and then you will have to manually switch it to sim2. Apart from this stupid bug, it's absolute beauty. No other bugs and no lags at all.

I have never seen it lagging. Apart from the bug I mentioned in my previous post I have no complaints with it. It's actually quite awesome for the price I paid for it.
I have been using it for almost 5 months and completely satisfied. There are not noticeable lags, handles any stuff you throw at it. And most importantly, it has awesome battery backup. If I use it only for calling and messaging, than it provides backup of almost 2-3 days which is hard to get these days considering the fact that display uses too much battery.

VIDEO- LG G4 vs Note 5 Speed Test

In this video we match the Note 5 against the LG G4 in an all out brawl to the death. The first round tests the phones ability to launch apps while the second round tests multitasking performance. I was very much surprised by the results. The Note 5 has to reload every app in the second round while I found the on screen buttons of the LG G4 to be a bit cumbersome for the purposes of this test. Jumping to the homescreen to launch the next app was much easier with the Note 5's physical button. Which phone has performed better for you?
G4 well worth

The E+ is basically the same device with two curves on the screen and no SPen. .. and this test was done with the S6 vs the G4 with the exact same results. I see it as a non-issue really on both ends, with that being said... tomorrow I'm moving to the Note 5 simply because the S pen appeals to me and would be helpful to have. Otherwise, I've been mostly happy with my G4 and will likely miss it.

Made the same move. But from the note 4 to nexus 6 to G4. Awesome devices the last two. I love the g4. Very awesome device.... ? and I got it for 25% the price of the note 4. Samsung, In my very personal opinion, is inflated and overrated.
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Yea thats samsungs thing. I downloaded a background process limitor from the Play Store on my LG G Pad 7 because it only had 1gb of memory and playing a heavy game like Terraria would result in my launcher and background apps like sidebar closing out all the time. The app would let me adjust the amount of apps were open before closing others.
I am sure the Samsung users could increase this software limit and easily beat the G4. However Samsung does this also for battery savings.

Samsung Galaxy 5 vs One Plus Two vs LG G4 Speed Test - Who is the winner?

Well this was definitely surprising.
Enjoy the results.. Something to show to anyone that doubts the 808.

1 Second slower than the Note 5 on lap 2.
Samsung with its 'top of the line' processor should be way faster for the price difference.
Therefore the LG G4 is the true winner.
..Sent from an XDA modified LG G4 on Verizon..
Also the extremely poor Ram management on the Note 5 and S6. Google it, it's a known issue.

The Note 5 finished before the LG G4. That's the objective result. You stating the LG G4 is the true winner is subjective.
Oneplus set an aggressive throttle because of the rumors, change that throttle file and you will see op2 winning g4. Proved by me. In the latest update they change it a little bit so it won't throttle that fast. Should win g4 easily with that

6 months later its improved. There is more free ram available.
You still will get apps being closed but not as bad as at launch.
There will always be a benchmark which fits your needs.
Samsung has excellent cpus, the exynos ones are smoking the snapdragons for breakfast.
Too bad the note 5 is manufactured by Samsung and has no sdcard slot and removeable battery.
Also amoled is something I will never buy again. Looks amazing at full brightness but white turns yellow if lower.
As seen on my S4. After 18 months even on max brightness white is shown as yellow. Looks like the wall from a smoker that smokes a lot at home.
Disgusting.
Not to mention the N4 costs at the cheapest online store more than 50% more than the G4.
Also its being shipped with 5.1.1. so according to Samsungs update politics it should get MM Q4 2016
If they do not encounter some strange critical bugs which could delay the release to provide best user experience lol.

New phone? Substituting G2

Well after 4 years, I find strange that I am still running g2 . Is anyone considering changing this phone?
LG g2 remains my phone standard, so if I change, I will be looking for these specs :
5.2 inch or 5.5 screen size in similar dimensions as g2
Battery over 3000 mah
Sdcard (the Feature I miss the most on g2)
Better camera.
Good development support as G2 had in xda
Budget around 300 usd.
Strange to open such discussion, but let's see if our g2 could still resist another year on not, based on the above requirements.
Any idea? Xiaomi a1 for example?

My suggestion would be to buy flagship phones from like 2 years ago since they should be around that budget price by now. It's better then buying a new budget phone for example around that price.

Lg g2 is still better than most of mid-range phones; except front camera quality, fingerprint sensor and software. So since I have limited budget, I have no plans to buy a new phone.
I've owned these phones: Nexus 5, LG G3, LG G4, Galaxy S7 and iPhone 6. I prefer the G2, still have the S7 but never using it. Camera on S7 blows the G2 away of course but that's the only thing I like about it. Loved the Nexus 5 but battery and camera are better on G2 and I missed the rear keys on G2. For now I'm still happy with G2.
