Hi, my sm-n9005 not register on network.
It can't make calls or send messages but it can access the internet.
That's happened after I click the system update in the setting menu. now the imei showing in the status bar is different from the one on the back.
Is it the reason? is there anything to do with the so called regional lock??
Please help me.
I tried several sim cards, they all work fine on ohter phones but mine.

I bought it online. but in 100 km I can't find any samsung repair stores. There seems no samsung customer service center in Norway.
Samsung service center is not necessary, search for mobile repair shop near to you.

Its Region Locked to Hong Kong. That means it will only register on a network around Hong Kong territory. You will need to get a Region Unlock from Samsung to use it in Norway. On the side of the box it should have listed the countries your note 3 well work in. If norway was not listed then you can not register on any network in Norway. Contact Samsung
If u read op write about his phone imei number got changed after update, his phone may flashed with super imei for unlock region lock by seller.

What was your previous rom ? on which Sim was working?
Did you upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4.2?

previous rom was 4.3, Hongkong. sorry I can't remember the exact info of the rom. I just left it not updated since I bought it in January.
The updates were some features, but not the system update. the version remained 4.3.
After the update I tried to flash a latest stock rom from sammobile to see if that would fix it, but still failed.

You should not flash modem randomly as it may brick your device.
As you device is HK version and the above modem is for N9005 International version, that modem is not fit for your device.
Didn't you have any IMEI backup?
If you don't have any IMEI backup, try to reflash the stock firmware for HK (not international one, as these versions have different PIT structures).
You cant just flash anything you find on Sammobile and expect for it to run perfectly. region locked or not. Because your phone was from Hong Kong you need to flash Hong Kong only firmwares nothing more nothing less. Flashing something not made for your region will change the IMEI. My friends did the same thing and his was also Hong Kong model. Tried everything to get it back but its pretty useless with out an EFS backup in hand.
Someone mentioned if you flash the original Firmware that came with the phone for the region it was made for it well bring your IMEI back. Give that a try. Give this a try.

I have HongKong N9005 32GB too..
I didn't know anything about different partition so I flashed 4.4 from UK. And Soft Bricked my phone.
Then I used PIT file for international version and All the roms worked but Unknown baseband and Null IMEI.
Then I flashed UK rom and then Flashed modem from my previous android version.
That means, 4.3 version modem on 4.4.2 and baseband came back.
Repairing baseband is the very first step in repairing IMEI and network problems.

Hello everyone, so I received my I9500 octacore version today. When I try to check my CSC: I see I9500XXUAMDE as PDC, and I9500OJVAMDC as CSC. When I go to check this on Sammobile, they told me that this is Afghanistan Firmware. What does this mean exactly? What is the CSC, and why is my firmware Afghanistan, does it mean that my phone was build there?
By the way, i import this from a US ebay seller http://www.ebay.com/itm/200921143337...84.m1497.l2649
If someone can explain me about all this, Thank you in advance.

I9500XXUAMDE is just your firmware, I am also running this and I live in Australia.
So to be clear you can run any firmware and it doesn't matter.
Your CSC is the modem for the region and OJVA identifies the region and MDC identifies the version you are running.
So OJVA is your region and as long as you are getting a signal it is all fine
Hello there.
I'm sorry if I haven't used the search engine right but I couldn't find a thread similar or answering my question.
I bought my phone, the note 3 in the Netherlands. It is an unbranded phone(phn) as far as I know.
But I am living in belgium. And for some reason I can't get my 4g to work with the Base operator.
Or with any other operators. For some reason there is no LTE option available in the network settings.
Now I have been searching on Google and went to some stores and compared my csc and ap version to the note 3 working on lte on the same network in the stores. And I saw with every note 3 in the stores that the ap version was ap n9005xxuena7 and mine is n9005xxuena6.
How come my unbranded phone with csc n9005phnena2 is not getting the update that let's me use 4g?
At least that is what I think?
After previewing the post, I noticed I have to update my signature. ..
Your carrier probably hasn't enabled it on your line.
Ring them up
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I doubt that. They informed me about 4g them selves and the Sim they gave me had a small picture of 4g(lte) and 3 dual carrier on it.
Have you tried a factory reset?
I had a similar problem with my btu uk device after flashing the Polish na6 official firmware. Very unreliable mobile data connectity and went to 4g very rarely.
I didn't factory reset but instead flashed a custom rom (also based on na6) which fixed the problem completely.
I'd suggest factory reset first to see if that helps.

I don't know about Base, but with Proximus, you really have to call the customer service to ask them to activate the 4g for you. Did you try that?

I have a cheap abo with Proximus and have 4G on my note 3.
I don't have to do a thing about it so you don't have to call them its already activated for every abo.
I don't think it is operator related. Because my Sim works on my mother's s4 perfect.
I guess it is the update that is necessary to activate 4g on unbranded phones.

I can't say what's wrong with BASE, maybe they haven't enabled 4G towers yet...I'm on XL from Proximus and I get LTE all over Vlaanderen.
Well, try to flash some of the Polish 4.4.2 available all over XDA. My Note was also bought from Belsimpel but never had any issues with 4g--->with the latest NB3 (OTA) there's no more 4G sign...it's LTE.

Kies Backup works just fine...
Not every provider has 4G enabled in every CSC version. I get this question about 12 times a day on the T-Mobile NL forums.
I had 4G on DBT with T-Mobile NL two months before the T-Mobile NL Branded and PHN versions had it.
Resetting won't make a difference. This needs to be toggled in the firmware itself by Samsung. On most other devices you can use the *#*#4636#*#* or *#2263# dialer code to manually force the network mode, but they disabled it on the Note 3.
Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viaero4gtoggle

I already have tried viaero. All I get is a black screen. No selectable option or toggle button. Nothing but a black screen. So I have to wait for an update or put a custom rom on it?
And is it possible to backup app settings? Like I dont have to configure Yatse again and Xbmc?
I am a noob with flashing custom roms and rooting.
Thank you.
call Base , tell them to activate it . Mobile Viking uses the base network and they had to phone base to activate G4 for my number.
up till few weeks a go you neded to make a call for proximus aswell but that changed because of the promoting of 4G action that is running for 6 months

No need to flash a customROM. If another official ROM has 4G enabled for our provider, you could flash that over PHN. No rooting, no knox triggering, no warranty issues. The only issue you might run into is that nonsense people have recently been getting flashing over PHN with the filesize.
NA6 is the most recent firmware for PHN. Could you go check in the stores what CSC version the devices are using that do have 4G on your provider? To my knowledge NA7 is a provider-specific version limited to T-Mobile and daughter-companies.

I have a version of SM-N910C that is region unlocked/factory unlocked and not associated with any carrier. That is, the phone and firmware are not branded with any carrier logo and and has no carrier bloatware. The product code of my phone is SM-N910CZKEMTZ, which means region code MTZ is not associated with any country. The problem I ran into is that sammobile.com does not have the firmware for this version listed. The only place I can find the original firmware for it is over at samsung-updates.com and the download links they provided would take about 17 hours to download, unless you pay.
Does anyone know if there is another firmware for N910C (other than MTZ) that is NOT carrier branded? I actually tried the one listed as "unknown" from sammobile.com and it turned out to be for a carrier from Chile called Entel.
you can try the russian NK5 version from Sammobile, flashed it on my 910C and it works perfectly.. except for the IR but that is an issue with the phone itself

Hi,
What model of phone do you have? The LTE SM-N9005? If so (and I hope someone could either second this or correct me if i'm wrong) I believe you could flash via odin (and you do not need to be rooted to do this) the lollipop update that O2 has. 5.0 is available for the UK via the sammobile website, so if the basebands remain the same and the phone is the same model, I believe you could just download the 5.0 update from sammobile and flash it via odin.
Since you would be flashing an official version of sammy's rom, you won't need to be rooted, nor have a custom recovery.
Cheers

The only way i know how to change the csc fully to your country is via Samsung Service Center or you need to root the device and do it with samsung phoneinfo apps. Root and you will loose samsung pay function/secure folder and any knox related software like shealth
Usually the CSC changes accordingly to the sim inserted. Only if there's no corresponding csc it takes the default one in multi csc roms.
Please download Phone INFO ★Samsung★ and posts screens here to see what's really going on.

Flash your original marshmallow firmware using the CSC. It will factory reset your device
Flash the latest Nougat firmware using the HOME_CSC from your original firmware (can be the marshmallow one or if you have an Nougat one, use this). Don't use the nougat CSC file anymore.
Unfortunately without a Single CSC file you are not getting back to your original CSC and a single CSC has not been published for Vodafone Italy. In case of multi CSC the system uses the CSC already applied or in case of change (since you've BTU at the moment) the standard CSC which is VD2 (Vodafone Germany) in this case.
The only way to change that is with root.

I said using CSC meaning the firmware included all the stuff of your firmware.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Unfortunately that won't help as there's no firmware which only includes Vodafone Italy. There's only one with several European Vodafone settings and if you flash that onto a device with non-Vodafone CSC such as BTU it used the standard CSC included which is Vodafone Germany. I thought first different, too, unfortunately there's no way without root (tested it by myself).
Rooting is out of picture, because I don't want to loose warranty.
I'll try to download and flash Vodafone Italy MM, then flash it, after I'll flash again the nougat with the old MM csc.
Edit: in this case I'll wait for a few weeks until Vodafone Italy will release the proper csc file.
Thanks
