Try to switch on stock rom with kernel and use for couple of days, calibrate battery and use galaxy charging current app to see how much current (ma) u r getting from charger.
Hit thanks if it helps

Change the data cable. It is the datacable.
Download Galaxy Current Charge App and see the stats for yourself

galaxy charging app is showing reference 460 ma ... max 1900 ma .. average 460 ma
so the prob is data cable ??

Yes..get a heavy duty datacable..might be due to rough use the fibers broke or something
I use my phone with a bb datacable..and it gives me 1400ma.
460Ma comes when you charge from a laptop or computer. See if in the battery option it comes usb or ac?

where is this battery option ???
and does this app really telly the ma rating ???
like i used 1.0A charger n it still shows max 1900mA ... n then with a 750ma charger n same max 1900 :|
n now with my same data cable it shown 860ma n then after few mins 500 :|

Max means the maximum charging requirements. :/ How can a benchmark possibly change with chargers..
The falls shall occur after refreshing it...because even a machine needs time to calculate bro.
Try a new data cable and see the results yourself brother. You can find them on flipkart at heavy discounts.
Plus the battery option is in settings--->more--->Battery.

ok got u .. changed the data cable n this one gives me 1200ma but charge rate is same like earlier as well it charges 1% battery in 3 mins n now also same 1% in 3 mins ...
i think i should try changing charger as well but try kernel changing first

No need for the kernel change brother..
Callibrate it..callibration is like charging till 100% and emptying the battery till the phone shuts itself.
Repeat this 2-3 times..
There are many battery calibration apps too try them as you already have root..
Everything shall be fine..
And for now..pull the battery out..wait for 10 mins till all the phone gets cold.. turn it on again...and then charge..

When you flash a new firmware, do you flash wid a full battery charge?.....that makes a difference cos the os considers that battery level to be the Max level at that time.... .. i read bout this in lestats dev page....cheers!

today i had to flash my phone again and i was in a hurry so i flashed it without charging to 100%....will it make any difference??
and i came across this app for this purpose...

but i am confused......anyone??
It may have to do with cpu scaling also.I installed cpu master and saw that the cpu is always on 667mhz and not down-scaling when not in use

I dunno about this, after I flashed a new rom(60% charge) the battery was fine for a few days(around 26 hrs backup)...but recently the battery backup has dropped to less than 8 hrs!

[Q] G3 Battery drains out in minutes

My samsung galaxy 3 battery just drains like hell...
It gets charged to 100% fast (when plugged in, charging starts at about 80% level )
Then it becomes 100% in about 5 minutes
Then in about 30 minutes it switches off
It also turns off if i use data connection for about one or two minutes.
Is my battery permanently damaged ??? ( i used to browse and download alot while charging )
or is it just calibration issue ???
Have you tried to charge it while it's off? If that doesn't help try battery calibration.
Is the battery of phone permanently damaged if we keep on using Data Connection while charging ???
My phone is only 8 months old
No... It's probably miscalibrated or defective.
can you give a solution ???
what all to be checked ?
Turn your phone off and charge it.

can u tell me, wat hav u doen to ur sg3 till now?? i wanna compare it with mine..
me on kyrillosv6
g3mod1.3extreme
data2sd
ex4 ext4 ext2
used before keepin data connection on all time (now it dsnt let me do)
dude..i also had same problem..its a bug..waste of callibrating battery..better instal a good kernal..it gives exact battery percentage.
What kernel are you using there's a bug like this on fugumod ultra
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
One thing I used to do was using 3G data all the time while charging. I used to download large files (several 100MBs ) while the phone was plugged in.
I have also changed kernels.
Have used kyrillos 5.5 with ext4 data2sd
Tried g3mod, fugumod ultra
Now using Destiny 1.2
Battery backup is very very poor.
One moment the phone is on, the next moment it switches off !
Cannot use data at all without charger plugged in.

sumone told me to use non oc kernels & not to manipulate freq with it.. it may wrk.. otherwise i hav to rush to service centre..

Plz DO COMMENT if u HAVE/HAD ABNORMAL BATTERY-LIFE..!!

hey guys i m having abnormal battery health...
battery ends in an hour..
nd it turns off in a very strange manner .. it nvr goes 0% wen it shuts down.. it turns off drctly from 80% or 50% ..
so i think it is a hardware problem.. may be it is d battery.. but i hav to b sure.. coz my battery warranty is not anymore but the handset warranty is..
PS: removing battery stats via cwm dsnt give me any notification.. it that ok?? or that means it s not wrking..
try to wipe battery stats with titanium backup or some other program (needs root i think) then fully charge and calibrate with battery calibration.hope it helps
DDJP4 is even poor... within 1-2 hrs after charging my phone and keeping it idle also makes batt level fall to 80%.. backup is hardly 10-12 huous.. battery calibration app did not help also but it actually work on other ROMs.. completely lost with this batt issue for moths now.. actually lleft with no hope........... :'(
try with kyrilos or sumee rom !!
Undervolting works wonders.

same with me fon suddenly switch off between 80 to 50 % battery and darining very fast during 3g or even 2g data on. it goes from 100% to switch of within 20 minuts, i think it is not hardware problem
switch to 2g and you solve that problem
thnk u guys fr ur cncern.. but i trd them all.. none worked...
i trd stock roms.. used old roms & kernels (coz wen i used them , there was no problem) .. but the problem is still there.. i m quite sure it s abt sumthing hardware.. jst dunno if it is battery or handset.. :/
i too have bad battery life , my phone only last 12hr max in idle mode when it is connected to 3g , i have tried battery calibration and other roms but they give me the same results .

Well, i'd suggest go for a new battery and try...coz 20mins battery life is not even possible when i had 1400MHz Performance, 2G connection always ON, then also i got around 10-12 hours...
I've got this battery draining issue too. :-\
I have it when the data connection is on. But when it's off, the battery drain is comparatively lesser.

umm actly with ur latest kernel 3-4hours with most minimal usage... oced to 1000mhz..
See if the battery is showing signs of heating.
I would also suggest, try it with another battery (U would be lucky if you have someone else nearby using SG3 whose battery you can try to check).
Normally, battery draining is not so much, especially on Stock ROMs with no over-clocking, other things remaining constant, especially since its a 1500 power batter.
Let us know what you did eventually.

Bro you did not mention if there is over heating in the battery?
Its very strange bro, i hope you are not overclocking your processor perpetually. you may try and for sometime, set cpu profile to something like 200-600 Mhz if using GMOd or 67-667 MHz if using Fugumod.
If its in guarantee period, then flash a stock ROM and give the phone to service centre, they would repair for free (as this type of issue may also happen with motherboard problem which is covered under warranty).
I am actually confused because, with the info provided, it can not be 100% ascertained if its really battery problem

Need urgent Help!

Ok , I had this trouble with a battery before .. when I left it on charge, it would just decrease for no reason ... now I got a new battery after that battery refused to turn on my phone and gave me 3 red blinking lights.. It was working perfectly, turned on correctly, etc, etc... now I left it to charge, it went from 32 -> 29 percent in like 5/10 minutes!? Can someone help me.. Is this a phone problem? like I just bought a brand new battery for 10 dollars, and it's already having the same problem as before, All I did was go from stock, to FXP CM7 ...
I had the same 3 blinking red lights with my x10 also and took it to the ATT service center and they tried everything. I had to get a whole new unit. I hate to throw in the bomb here but that's probably what you have to do. There are a few threads though about this issue. If I come across one I will definetly send one your way. But try different charging techniques and ways. If you have the phone under warranty still through ATT, it will be a free replacement. I hope this helps. Please update thread to tell us what works. Every case is different with this one.

Ti know the exact reason, do these:
1. Charge your battery through a battery charger. Check whether it charges.
2. Flash new kernels. (i prefer thjap kernel). Now wipe battery stats frim xrecovery. Reboot and put to charge. Check its behavior now.
3. Insert the battery in other handsets and check.
You will come to know whether its your battery or kernel or motherboard that's creating problem.
Once solved, calibrate your battery. One important thing.... Use ac charger instead of usb.

Maybe ur need to wipe data/cache
if not solved maybe ur battery its too risk
Sorry for my bad english
Now this particular problem might be caused by -
- Custom Kernel - Not fully stable or the Governor and schedule not set right or the governor set at Performance ( which accelerates the phone , but drains the battery)
- Battery is broken
or
- The socket through which you usually charge your phone might be sending off excess of charge through charger which might be damaging your phone
Solution
Buy a new battery
Us some other kernel

Try first using your original charger and see if thats the problem. If not, try using a different kernel (I would suggest Hells Fusion #50, its stable & bugless) or go back to stock kernel to test. if still no, try reverting to stock ROM (& stock kernel). If still doesnt work, its probably the battery.
