[Q] Screen Capturing with Madhi? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I am wondering if anyone out there can answer this for me. Quite simply, I am trying to screen capture while using the Mahdi Rom on a Galaxy S4- Perhaps I have derped, and overlooked a quite simple solution, but just in-case, does anyone know if it is possible to screen capture still while using this ROM? Many thanks in advance if so, and if not, please don't post your same issue below, only a solution- It is possible I am just a newb and this feature is totally removed from the Mahdi Rom though.....
I can't seem to delete this post, nor should I... here is answer:
double finger swipe from top of screen down > click SETTINGS > scroll down under CUSTOM, click CUSTOMIZATION > scroll down at bottom to HARDWARE BUTTONS > determine which of the hardware buttons you want to screen capture, and click it > scroll down to find SCREENSHOT = Happiness-

Screen sensitivity after T-MO Rom update

I have been patiently waiting for the update that was made available yesterday afternoon so I downloaded and updated my phone. Since it resets everything I really didn't get around to doing much with it last night. This morning I started to get my phone setup and noticed the sensitivity seems to have worsened, sometimes considerably, over what I had before.
Scrolling has become less responsive, the X (close) button needs to be pressed a few times rather frequently, the buttons on the bottom row of the screen do not seem to respond very well either anymore, and lastly it just doesn't quite feel the same. Of all the problems I have been having with my HD2, screen sensitivity (accuracy could be a bit better) was not one of them until now.
Is there a way to calibrate the screen that I was not able to find on the phone? Anyone else notice any difference after updating?
Thanks in advance for any help!
I'm having the same issue but over all the new ROM is more stable.
Align
Start > Settings > All Settings > System > Scroll down to Align
Cheers
Also look for an App called TouchMark (think I found it on OMarket).
Neat little App that shows you exactly where you are touching the screen.
Maybe you have lost your touch
Also I use BsB to lower sensitivity of the screen which assists me greatly with typing.
Thanks for the tip but the "align" button is not in that folder on my phone. I searched and didn't find it anywhere else either.
After having a full day use with my phone the screen sensitivity is still a bit flaky, I would say it is worse than it was before I upgraded the rom. As for stableness, I have had several random data disconnects and small lags here and there that I didn't notice before. Unfortunately the audio lag has not been fixed. I should quit while I am ahead.
The summary is I want them to get the basic functionality of the phone to work and in doing so, please do not mess up the few things that are working, such as screen sensitivity. I am curious how long before the next rom update.
On a separate note, does anyone know where we can see a list of what they fixed in this rom?
Thanks!
Align?
Start > Settings > All Settings > System >"""screen""',, then align on mine hd2
??? are people on this thread a little confused??
going to the screen settings is NOT going to fix what the rom update did... the scrolling is considerably worse... not the accuracy...
for some reason, when i scroll through things.. its slow, laggy, and choppy.. its probably the most ridiculous "update" ever.. it simply made the phone worse... i wish i could go back to my previous rom.. before the official update.. i had absolutely NO problems with the scfreen sensitivty.. in fact.. i had no issues with it at all.. don't even know why i upgraded... pity...
and there is a fix thread floating around the TMobile HD2 forusm somewhere.. but that fix doesn't even get it remotely close to how it used to be.. now if someone could report exactly what the settings are on the stock TMoUS rom in the registry BEFORE updating to the official update.. it would help out enormously for the hackers who can fix what TMo has done to our phones...
people people dont fret!! just install HD2Tweak and look for the option that allows you to increase sensitivity and there ya go! there are 4 levels of sensitivity and i set mine to high and its perfect.
Iquigley- Unfortunately I do not have a "Screen" button in my system folder...
Just to clarify my original post in case it was confusing, although I believe accuracy could be better I did not notice a change in the accuracy of the screen, just a drop in sensitivity. Scrolling now has a tendency to stick and launch an app instead of actually scrolling. That doesn't seem to be happening as much now so I might have just adjusted to the new "feel" of the phone.
Can anyone confirm that it is just a setting that needs to be changed? At this point I avoid adding new apps to the phone if possible since I am afraid it will break something :s
Thanks!
The screen option in settings is hidden on the T-Mobile HTC HD2. You can make it visible in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Pen
Set the value of "Hide" to 0 (currently it is 1). Then the screen option will be visible in the system folder under all settings.
i went to do the registry change and cant find pen under control panel, is it under another sub folder?
Thanks Tobiascrystal. I am confused why they would have that hidden in the first place. I have been trying to avoid having to change registry settings but I might just be shooting myself in the foot by doing so. I will check it out.

Broken lcd, need help backing up data

Unfortunately, the lcd of my unrooted Desire Z device recently broke. The touchscreen is working though. Before I send the device in for repair, I'd like to back up my data (contacts, sms..) via ADB. However, USB-debugging mode is not enabled on my device.
I know where to find the option, but it's difficult to get there without seeing anything on the screen.
Could someone please post a couple of screenshots of all the steps to take, in such a way that I can determine the right place to press the screen to enable USB-debugging mode?
Any other suggestions to tackle this issue and back-up my data are of course also welcome.
Thanks in advance.
would help to know what rom you're on.
if you're aosp, let me know and I'll get you some screenies.
Unrooted desire z is prob sense. Also perhaps using the track pad would be a better idea?

oh. I conveniently ignored the "unrooted" part, hehe. I'm of no use then because I don't know my way around sense roms.
Yep, it's sense indeed. It has an unbranded stock rom.
Using the track pad is possible as well, but then I still need to know the exact presses I have to make. Besides it's easy to move a step too far with the trackpad.
Someone?
dont know if QtADB works with unrooted phone but give it a go.

I believe it does, however, USB-debugging mode needs to be turned on for that as well, which it currently isn't. I'm still hoping someone can post a couple of screenshots or describe the trackpad moves to make to enable USB debugging mode. I think it should be under settings > applications > development > USB-debugging..
Anyone?
I will post up some pictures or a video of where to press on my brother's stock DHD. I would use my own, but I have an AOSP rom installed so that would be of no use. I'll have it up in the next hour or so.
EDIT: Here are the shots.
1) Press the "Menu" key on any homescreen to bring up the menu you see on the first shot. Hit "Settings". This is the easy part.
2) From here, there's going to be alot of guesswork and luck. Scroll all the way down. From there, the "Applications" option is the 7th from the bottom. Each option is probably about 3/4" in height. Use that to approximate.
3) Hit Development, about 1/3 the way down the screen
4) If you've made it all the way here, then hit the top check to enable USB Debugging.
Hope this helps.
I have a crack on my G2 as well, I'm not really looking to send mine in though...
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but anyone know where I can grab some OEM LCD Screens? I suppose ebay eh?
it should be easy to unlock screen, just drag down
press menu key> photo 1
drag down to the bottom> photo 2> photo 3> photo 4
then press screen like the position at photo 5

[Q] double tap to lock/unlock the Note 4.

Hello there,
Today I went with a friend of mine and bought him a brand new LG G3, I played with the phone a bit, and I really liked the "double tap" feature where you can lock or wake the phone up without having to press the power button every time you wish to unlock the phone.
My question is, is it possible to implement this setting in the Note 4? (N910C)
and if it is developed or under development, can anyone suggest a kernel/mod/rom that has that feature...
Thanks guys.
it's just a simple question and I'm new here :/
can't anyone suggest something?
I would be appreciate it.
Nope and nope for both of your questions.

hi,
just a quick point. /and question ?
Why do i want to double tap to wake etc...? If i have some other good options?
i flip open my S view case, to wake my device (without touching my screen etc) To put my phone to sleep i can either also double tap screen (Screen off app on Play market) or slide my finger (along top right side)(GMD app.. need root) on screen.. same effect?
To me its just as cool !
(Just some other cool methods!)
Good luck

Well, yeah I know these options and about those apps, all of these apps have one thing, they can lock the screen and not wake it up.
Its not that I will need this feature in anyway.. was just asking if it's possible to implement it through the kernel or a rom, or if its a hardware sensor thing..
because I was wondering, how would a phone wake up from an "OFF" screen with tapping on it, if there wan't any sensor to detect it..
and I wanted to see how would that work on a phone that never had that feature before such as samsung.
Thanks for your answer.
PM: I don't have a samsung phone, my question was for educational purpose as I'm doing electrical engineering.
Yes, it's totally possible, and has been added to many custom ROMs for many different devices.
Actually, to be more accurate, it's added to the kernel. So basically just look at all the custom kernels that are available for you, and see if any have that feature. If not, you could always ask a kernel developer nicely, or offer to donate a little if they'd add it for you..

[Q] After Lollipop Leaked update Quick Settings Panel / Option missing totally

Hi All,
I updated leaked lollipop 5.0 version my Note 3, 9005 exactly like guidelines told here (this forum is heaven on earth, thanks), everything seems to went well, except a "little" issues what i found: I don´t have screen pinning option and multiple users option (found that i´m not the only one), but the biggest issue which i found that - what the heck - I dont have quick settings panel at all and didn´t find any thread considering this kind of issue .
And yes, I do know how to use a phone Believe me, it just isn´t there, I thought also myself that this girl has lost her brains when i try to swipe and do all the magic tricks hoping to find the mystic panel. But no.
Please could Somebody help me on this one. :good:
Thanks A lot!
Satu
That's extremely weird! You mean the the five icons which you get by pulling down with one finger on status bar right? So what are you getting when you pull down, nothing?
Did you make a full wipe before flashing the ROM?
Well, nothing. It looks exactly as it was previous version 4.4x.
Except those "S finder" and "quick connection" buttons, see picture. What i have seen, the panel not suppose to look like this, see picture?
Is this weird or maybe it´s me?
And these were the guidelines what I´ve followed when i updated my phone. Step by step.

I´m not blaming the guides, just trying to give something what could help you to figure this out.
Thanks,
Satu
And sorry, I have quick settings but it's not looking as it should, is this right?
Really, nobody?
OIs there a change that someone could help me?
Should I do this again, and what is the best way?
Please
Satu
If that screenshot is how you are having the quick settings panel then its normal and that's how it looks on LP.
Okei, then I'm just stupid. I'm sorry. I thought it is grey and something wonderful and amazing new feature, it looks exactly same as before (kitkat).
I'm sorry.
Satu
I thought the same
There was supposed to be a special tab when you use two fingers to swipe from the top screen and have the ability to turn on flashlight and switch users. I don't have it either. How do you switch users? Go in guest mode?
Yes, exactly same here.
Although I don't have a guest mode at all and no silence mode (icon) anywhere so I think this failed.

[Q] HELP! S8 Pressure Sensitive Home Fix For Root?

Hello, everyone.
I'm having an issue with pressure sensitivity for my s8 (rooted) after replacing the display screen, from 3rd party shop.
It is way too sensitive, with 'Hard press home button' set to strongest in; Settings > Display > Navigation bar.
Searched everywhere to solve this problem and found others who has same problem but no one had solutions.
The one possible solution found was going to ASC and calibrate force touch.; link- https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/help/how-to-calibrate-force-touch-samsung-t3736990
Also from other resources it looks like a software issue with the new display, one of the reply from above link mentioned there is a way around with root.
However, couldn't find any information or flash files of it anywhere. Now getting confused, is it the new display or custom rom problem?
If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please help me out.
