No need to change boot-loader on SM-605 - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

No need to change boot-loader, on Tab 10.1 LTE SM-605. I installed open recovery TWRP openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-lt03ltexx.img.tar. It workes fine!

Absolutly useless thread with no info of running system - jelly bean or kitkat. And wrong section mate. You need to upgrade the bootloader if you want to flash custom roms, otherwise the rom didnt boot up. We have knox bootloader since 4.3, so where is the problem to upgrade the bootloader?

[Q] 4.3 TO 5.0 ... what about recovery...

Hey simple question (obviously not for me) Im trying to update my note from 4.3 (MI7) to 5.0 (dompop)
I had to install custom recovery for 4.3 bootloader but when I install 5.0 do I have to update recovery also right away or later or before restart or when...
Im not sure about that. Installing rom should be easy but not sure what to do with recovery or to do anything at all?!
Recovery? No need to worry about that. Just flash.
When I install it first time I needed right version recovery for my bootloader job kitkat etc and now when I change to lollipop it does not matter. Good to know just a little confusing

I337UCUGOC3 bootloader locked, want to update to I337UCUGOK2 to unlock bootloader

I hit on UPDATE on the phone for an OTA update but it only says UNABLE TO CONNECT AT&T SERVER. When I bought it, it had 5.0.1 (I337UCUGOC3) out of the box. Searching on internet says that is bootloader locked (so I cant do anything).
- Can I Update to I337UCUGOK2 and bootloader will be unlocked (I mean, will I be able to do it)?
- Does anyone know where can I grab I337UCUGOK2 for offline install and is it ODIN safe to update it (remember I have I337UCUGOC3 bootloader locked)?
please help
Once the bootloader is locked, it will always be locked until someone finds a way to unlock it. Updating the bootloader will not allow it to be unlocked.

Unlocking/exploiting the bootloader for the AT&T is still in process, I think.
Bootloader locked means you can not install custom recovery like TWRP, CWM or custom kernel. You can still root, you can still use odin and you can still install custom rom using either safestrp or flashfire.
Here is the thread explaining how to upgrade stock or rooted stock roms.
The explanation starts from installation of NB1 firmware so that you can easily root the phone by using twolroot.
If you do not care for the root you can start reading from the step 2 "Flash update in stock recovery"
Since you are on OC3, you need OC3 to OC4 and OC4 to OK2 files to get OK2.
help... I want to RMA it

Everywhere says I need a kitkat rom as base.
My s4 came with 5.0.1 with OC3 and bootloader locked out of the box. I tried some post where says I can flash TWRP and CWM but my phone stucked on bootloops. Then I managed to get back to stock rom and now when I want to turn it on it says " SAMSUNG (and lower on the screen) Custom"
Camera began to fail and I want to return it as RMA but I was looking to reset the flash counter but every post I read is that OC3 bootloader locked users are just doomed.
Do you know a method that I can do for reset that counter?
Camera dont focus anymore and I tried all the posts about safemode, etc.

Flashing TWRP and CWM is for the AT&T S4 with older bootloader (MDL, MDB). After that two firmware versions the bootloader is locked.
For AT&T S4 the last full firmware released is NB1. After that they released incremental updates via OTA. That is why you need kitkat (NB1) as base.
For NB1, Muniz uploaded two firmwares. One is the stock and the other is rootable stock. Try the stock one and see you still have the custom symbol.
To reset the counter, there is an app calls Triangle away by Chainfire. However, it does not work on AT&T S4 with locked bootloader.
Trying Odin-Stock NB1

Short on Time MOAR to 6.0x ?

I'm gone all week every week driving and have so much to do when I get in I don't have much time to follow all of the advancements. I am rooted with OD5 bootloader. Running MOAR 6.62 / 5.0 with OG5 firmware. I like the customization abilities of MOAR but it's not essential. Native tethering for the laptop on the road is critical (unlimited data). I am on the original safestrap (3.75)? I use the NI2 flasher and I'm comfortable with odin. I already use SU pro version. Is there a down and dirty way I can go up to 6.0 without having to learn new methods/apps to do so? Or what's the easiest way with my setup to achieve this?
I apologize for asking a question that has doubtless been asked a number of times. I just am so pressed for free time.
Thanx in Advance and don't scorch me too harshly with flaming !!
Steve
Is your bootloader unlocked ?
I
Check by booting into download mode and looking for developer mode if you see it flash twrp in Odin
If not go to getex kk-mm bootloader unlock thread on XDA under s5 Verizon section then
If it is Then boot into recovery and flash mm rom
I flash in this order
Do a Backup in twrp to external SD card or USB otg drive
Do a full wipe except USB storage and external SD card
Then flash mm kernel
Then flash mm modem
Then flash ROM
Then reboot
If it bootloops then flash cm13 as a base then flash your ROM again in twrp
If it doesnt bootloop you are good
If you have problems try a different ROM
No it's not a dev edition
It doesn't have to be what it does have to be to get bootloader unlock is a Samsung 15 emmc you can check this by downloading the emmc brick Bug app on Google Play
if it is a 15 Samsung emmc then you can bootloader unlock from getex kk-mm bootloader unlock thread on xda
once you get bootloader unlocked you can install TWRP using odin
from there you can install a custom marshmallow ROM in twrp
This is the fastest and easiest way
I'm sorry I should've stated it's an 11
You can't have root on mm rom with a locked bootloader so sorry man
You can be rooted on highest lollipop firmware pb1 that is it

[HELP] Software Update Warning; Unable to downgrade?

Guys I need some help, I recently flashed a stock lollipop rom for my rooted note 3 N9005, and after the setting up the phone, I had a notification about Software Update and in the details it says in the end that "After updating, you will not be able to downgrade to old software because of updates to the security policy". I want to apply this update but I am a bit worried that I may not able to downgrade to kitkat and jellybean, can I apply this update? I'm sorry for the noob questions.
And by the way, how do I downgrade from stock lollipop 5.0 rom to jellybean 4.3? I tried flashing a rom that came from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461929 it passed the Odin but It won't even boot to recovery, it keeps rebooting and is stuck at the Galaxy Note 3 logo with Recovery Booting... and it still has the "powered by Android" text on the bottom.

Once you update to stock Lollipop, there is not going back. It has something to do with the bootloader. You are stuck with Lollipop, I suggest you get used to it and embrace it
I really don't see any advantages that Kit Kat could have over Lollipop on this phone.
Wait nvm, It's Jellybean you can't downgrade to. You CAN downgrade to Kit Kat, but make sure you wipe data in recovery to avoid bootloops.

Help upgrade S4 from stock KitKat to latest Lineage

Hi Gurus,
I am dusting off my old AT&T branded S4 (SGH-I337/jflteatt) which still runs KitKat (4.4.2) to Lineage (I think 14.x images are available). The BaseBand version is: I337UCUFNI1. It is out of contract, so no worry about getting any official updates.
The thread here about TWRP for this phone made it look easy to install with the official app from the PlayStore. But after installing TWRP, I get an error 'System software not authorised by AT&T has been found" when I boot either to recovery or to ROM. I am guessing Secure Boot is still actively preventing custom images from booting.
So, how do I bypass this and go about successfully installing Lineage? Will Loki help me do it? Once I install TWRP, is it just a matter of installing official Lineage, or should I make other considerations?
Thanks in advance.
You have to be on the jelly bean MDL bootloader in order to install any custom recovery or ROM. Once you have upgraded to kit kat, you cannot go back. Only the MDL bootloader can take advantage of loki, all other bootloaders (including yours) can't as the exploit was patched in the MK3 firmware I think.
