Hi All,
I am working with a developer who has told me this is impossible to do and I am hoping one of you Android geniuses here could tell me if this is actually possible and perhaps point me in the right direction.
I am trying to create a list that has an unconventional shape which looks like the attached file.
Tapping each individual 'box' will take you to a different screen.
The developer I am working with says this isn't possible because they "overlap". As in if you draw a vertical line down the middle, boxes overlap.
He states that this is how it works:
1) Data comes from web service
2) We set the data in adaptor
3) There is a method in adaptor which populate view for each row
4) The adaptor is set in the Listview
Can someone please share their thoughts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Tal
I don't think its possible in listview . you may need to modify it. Can't say

Thanks for the reply,
If not possible in list view, do you know any alternative ways?
Cheers,
Tal
The main listview or grid view would not allow this .you need to extend one of these and build your own layout

One thing striked my mind.set dividers height to some negative value may help you achieve that.not sure though.

Basically I've got gestures for these tasks set up so this bar at the bottom is completely useless. Any way to get rid of or hide it?

It's a common feature that's available in custom roms, but not in stock that I'm aware of
This will definitely come in many custom ROMs. I wish there was a way to switch the position of the buttons. The back button on the left just doesn't do it for me.

I just found this, does the exact thing you're looking for but you need to be rooted (the nexus 4 has many methods if you aren't, look in the development section)

Hi, what gestures do you have?

I wish I could change the Recent Apps button to be Settings. I can't think of a single time I have used the Recent Apps button.

this :cyclops:
i would like to see how much better the phone would look while utilizing the ENTIRE screen.
I think the black nav bar is far too big. should be half the size.

I believe once apps are correctly updated to support ICS/JB then a menu (3 dots) button should appear next to the recent apps button. I remapped mine on CM10 on my HOXL, but I now do find myself long pressing for recent apps quite often.
Hi,
As you can imagine from the title, is it possible to scale down the toggles in the notification area? Maybe with a xposed module? If it is not that heavy to do, i would try to do it by myself...
Thanks in advance
Can anyone help me out? i would pay a few bucks if its possible to minimize the wasted space in the notification area... and im sure im not the only one...

Sorry for replying this late... I already took a look at link 1, not what i was looking for... link 2 is broken... :S
thanks
Perhaps edit the LCD density in the build prop to 320 and use xposed app settings to correct the stock apps that dont scale right back to 480. Then you'll look like this .

Hi all need help deciding which way to go developing a picture based parts repair form. My first thought was to have the user take the picture then edit photo after its saved by adding a circle or arrow to the parts area in question. The second thought I had would be to use an overlay graphic (arrow or circle) while taking the picture and saved together. While the second option sounds easier its less user friendly I'm thinking. Are there any other options I'm missing? What are your thoughts.. Thanks :banghead:

I figured it out! The easiest way I found was from Aviary. A free/paid image editing SDK @ http://developers.aviary.com
Best feature I liked is you can allow / disallow users different editing tools for your needs.

HI, I'm scissors_cut_paper. I have recently taken a disliking to sacrificing my home screen real estate for a dock. I am currently using slimkat, which has the ability to assign a long press function and custom icon to navbar buttons. To that end, I have created some dual use navbar icons, based on stock kitkat, but representing both functions of the navbar key. Now i'm no themer, but paint.net is pretty easy to use. If anyone has good ideas or request I may entertain them, though I would recommend having a play yourself.
To set these keys/icons in slimkat use settings/navigation/navigation bar/buttons.
The current icons I have made are-
Notification pulldown/longpress Quicksettings (Never reach for the top of your screen again)
Back/longpress kill app
Home/longpress application draw
Recents/longpress menu
Filemanager/longpress ?

All credits to slim for implementing the functionality, all i did was make some buttons.
Video of implementing (not everyone will need this, took me a while to figure it out though) http://youtu.be/ist7kSStb9k
Video in use - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv88dWqbkcQ
want to share your wallpaper pl0x?
No problem

any videos on you using it? Im interested...
YouTube link added in OP. Can do a quick video of how to implement (in slimkat, anyway) if anyone needs? Also did some cleanup, changed file explorer icon to better match stock theme.

Very nice man...your wallpaper is taking many threads by storm now too...
Slimkat also has navring features for those who don't like docks.

Still trying to figure out what I want to do with my ring.I've got shortcuts set up in the QS, combined with the pulldown button in navbar means they appear right above where your finger already is.

This icon with a white background and black person inside a circle appeared on my homescreen today. What app is doing this and how do I get rid of it?

Greetings, you should be able to Disable this Icon in your Phone Settings
Go to the General Tab and tap Accessibillity there Disable the Universal Touch Feature
I'd probably edit the post to say silhouette instead of something pottentially offensive to some.

Don't be silly and read it in context. Obviously doesn't mean a "'black skinned" person.
And the accessibility options for universal touch is correct as I've enabled this before.
