[Q] connectivity problem - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys, i have a lil bit of problem with my samsung here and wish to get some help
my samsung is SM-G900H (S5) with 4.4.2 stock android unrooted,
I'm staying in australia now and I bought the device overseas and not at australia and the australian sim card doesn't work on my device, It always shows an "R" on the signal which is an indication that i'm on roaming state and no 3G.i believe that SM-G900H is an international version (correct me if i'm wrong) and i can't find any way how to input the unlock code, and i believe it doesn't need to be unlocked.the australian sim card seem to work on my other phone (iPhone).
I have turned of roaming, do a factory reset and it's not working
could you guys give any idea what's happening here or some solution of there's any? thank you

Sorry, I don't know how to unlock by yourself.
But if you do have the unlock code, you can unlock using my apps:
- Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app or Shortcut Master app.
- Go to the menu 'Secret Code Explorer'
- Scroll down, you will see the code 7465625 (SIMLOCK). Use this code to check for the lock status.
- And also some more codes 7465625*xxx*, where xxx can be 27, 638, 77 or 782. These secret codes are used to unlock CP Lock, Network Lock, SP Lock and Network Subset Lock.

Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 4.4.2 SIM Unlock?

Hello everyone. I've got Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 4.4.2 and what i want is to have my mobile phone sim unlocked. i'm currently on T-Mobile Croatia nad i'm trying to insert my new SIM card from another operator... when mobile phone boots it asks for some code. As i don't have the code, i don't know what to do, and as i'm contractly connected with my original operator, i cannot request free sim unlock. However, i don't want to pay for the code either. So what are my chanses to get my mobile code sim unlocked? tried this metnod: android.gs/sim-unlock-samsung-galaxy-s4-i9505-i9500/
i cannot get over service mode menu after i enter 1. it's not doing anything, and as i see, this only works on 4.3 androids. So my is 4.4.2 and i'm unable to enter that mode.
please help me!
You have to unlock ur phone by IMEI. Unique way of make it free is buying a unlock code. Good luck :highfive:

Can anyone confirm this? Before I buy a locked S7 active and it won't work....

Yes it seems that way. I'm using an unlocked S7 Active with another provider in Sweden. I didn't unlock it myself though (it came unlocked when I bought it second-hand). This thread has some more info:

At the very worst you will have to buy an unlock code. I've done it twice for these phones and it worked both times. It cost somewhere near $20 US. So, you wont be stuck with an unusable phone, you just might have to pay a bit to use it.
FYI, got my unlock code from AT&T and their instructions (below) do not work on my S7A on Nougat
1. Power off the device and remove the SIM card.
2. Power on the device.
3. Enter #0111*, the unlock code, and #. The device cycles off and back on.
Note: You are allowed five attempts to unlock before your device permanently locks to the AT&T network.
I've unlocked a couple this way. Never had an issue.
Free at the Samsung site.
If you have a valid IMEI and the phone is from the USA, the AT&T site will unlock it for use with any carrier (GSM Carries not included).
The response time suggested was 24hrs, but I submitted @ 12:30am, the server must have been slow as I recieved my unlock code in 15 min.

100% worked!

No solution, I haven't bothered pursuing it as I don't have a need to put this phone on another carrier.
I have both NCK and FREEZE(reset) codes
And I can't find a way to input any of them into the phone.
After inserting non AT&T SIM card phone just says Invalid SIM card.
No popup to enter codes.
On android 6 it was asking for network unlock code, however didn't accept the NCK, I upgraded to Oreo and got the freeze code but there is no prompt anymore.
Is there any trick to make the phone ask for the code?

Hi.
I had a bootloader unlock allowed: no Xperia Z5. From my experience you cannot unlock it at all, for love nor money.
Did you happen to buy it from Sony directly or buy it from a carrier (Vodafone, 3, EE etc)? As if you bought it from a carrier then it is impossible to unlock it's bootloader. If you bought it from Sony then you need to change bootloader unlock allowed to yes in the developer menu in settings.
Hope this helps

Hi.
Open settings, scroll down and press system, press about phone, scroll down to build number and press it repeatedly until it says you've unlocked the developer menu, go back to the last menu, press advanced, then press developer options. Around the top quarter of the list there should be OEM bootloader unlocking.
Best of luck

Is there a way to network unlock an N910A 6.0.1 AT&T phone?

I've tried the secret phone codes in google but unfortunately, they don't work anymore. I was wondering if there are any new ways.

Are you talking about SIM unlock or bootloader unlock?

SIM unlock, bro.
If this is your phone then you can ask AT&T to unlock it for you:
https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/
If not then look around eBay for sellers who specifically target this device; they can provide you with an unlock code for a small fee.
