I just bought a new battery for this phone, but i got a problem. The discharge from 100% to 90%. I mean, it discharges by 10%. I will be couting down from 100%-90%-80% and so. I wanna know if someone has had this problem and how has fixed it? Wait for answers.BA

Now to start of, I have a T-mobile MDA with the 2.17 rom upgrade. My problem is my battery would jump from say 50 % to like 90%. Like today the battery was completely dead and i charged it up to 57% and hat to stopp because i had to run to the gym. Im at the gym and look at my power it mysteriously jumped up to 91%. now i know it doesnt have 91% because it was only charging for about a half hour. anyone know why it does this. Also i notice that when it does this the battery drains really fast until it gets down to the number it would normally be at if it didnt jump. Thank you in advance
about the battery...
If you recharge your battery every day when it has anything between 45% and 70% leaving it charging overnight, what effect will it have?
The battery producers claim that batteries don't have the "memory effect." Is it entirely true?

I have had this issue as well - my suggestion leave it charging and try not to use it while its charging - or if you do remove it from the charger. Last night my charge went from 85 to 100% and light went green. But today during light usage I went from 100 right back to like 86% immediately not gradually.
Some sort of bug I think
yah i guess its just a bug. I wonder how many others are experiencing this
Wierd charge readings
I'm getting the same thing. I am also running the 2.17 ROM but I only noticed it yesterday. I've had the 2.17 ROM for about 3 or 4 weeks but never noticed it happening before. For me it happens if I'm charging and then for whatever reason disconnect the unit from the charger. It jumps to 100% and i guess there is some internal circuitry which prevents any further charge being applied. Nothing scientific but it doesn't appear to happen if I'm charging off the laptop using a USB cable. Has only happened with mains charger. Might do some tests later on to try and find something more concrete but on the other hand I'm not sure that it bothers me much.
hello,
my i9505 wont charge the battery till 100%. it allways stop at 95%.
i thought it was a bad battery and replaced it. but the new one also stops at 95%.
im charging it overnight.
I didnt bought the batteries from samsung, but im quite positive they are genuine.
if i disconnect the charger and replug it. it can reach to 100%.
anyone else have this issue?
is it indication for a faulty battery/charger?
thanks.

The chances are that the battery status on your phone needs to be calibrated. What is likely happening is that the battery is fully charged but only reporting to be 85% charged. If you are rooted, there are many battery calibration apps on the play store that can reset the battery stats and solve your problem.
If you are not rooted then I don't think this is enough of a reason to jump into the root business.
Try running the battery all the way down to 0% such that eventually the phone completely dies. Then remove the battery and insert it and then plug in the charger.

I had the same problem. . I just replaced my charger cable.. the problem was fixed.
I used samsung fast charger for 4 months and battery life was all good , then i lost the charger so i had to charge the phone with a "not so fast charger" that took ages to charge my phone.
Never charged to 80% , and battery drain was serious.
That's when i got worried that the charger ive been using might have destroyed my battery.
So bought the "turbopower 15" charger for my MXP and at first it heated up my battery more then 60* (serious overheating issue)
After 2 or 3 charges i figured it only heats up after the percentage is 50% or higher or when i use it while charging.
And now it drain my battery like crazy!,
I just restarted my device into recovery right now and it was 45% but by the time i booted up to recovery it said 25%. How CRAZY DRAINAGE IS THAT??, Please devs help me.
Its like i dont need a stopwatch my battery drain a percent per second.
Im using purenexus 7.1.2 by @GtrCraft witb stock kernal

try going back to stock rom, if the problem persists that means the battery is bad

I was just using stock rom but the battery drain was still the same. I dunno if ive messed up the battery because of the "not orignal" chargers or whatever the reason is. I think the battery is now done for. I think Im just gonna sell this phone
Just buy a new battery from ebay, replace it urself. It's easy..

I use tronsmart 3.0 turbo charger (backward capability for quick charge 2.0 devices). Battery life is good. I charge it when it hits 15-30%.
I've got an issue with my battery where phone shuts down every time at 30% and won't charge above 80% unless I disconnect and reconnect charger then charges rapidly to 100%
I've heard LiPo batteries are easily damaged and have a short life span. In my case it has came to 0% numerous times. I tried calibrating it and still nothing
Here is some info on the battery.
Are those mA measurement's okay or bad?
These measurements are totally normal
It's probably your rom mate

Sounds like you need to return it under warranty.
Well I tried many different ROMs and stock firmwares still no luck. I've called service center and they will fix it. I think Li-Ion batteries are far better then Li-Poly
Had that issues on my previous device, Galaxy S4. Shutdowns at ~20% battery, terrible sot. My battery went bad so i replaced it with new battery and that solved it.
Consider replacing battery if flashing stock firmware does not help.
Batteries can last long if you take care of it. I guess you tortured it by draining it all the way to 0% or using the phone while its connected on charger, you should NEVER do that! 20% in my opinion is minimum before you should charge it to prolong battery life. Also if you really want very long battery life, do not charge it above 90%.

How long have you had the phone? I doubt li-poly batteries is alot worse than li-ion since both are very similar.
i am facing a strange issue from the past 1 month. Whenever i disconnect my charge the first 2% (1% definitely, 2% all the time, 3% rarely) drops immediately comparing the rest of the battery percentage... anyone face this issue? any solution? tips.
btw i always maintain 80% battery charge (always try to,)
i discharge my battery once in a month.
I have owned many android phones and this is a common thing i guess. because of this I don't use the percentage icon.
So you charge phone when is below 80%? And discharge it competly? If so - your battery is trash now .

No. I never discharge my battery completely. Like once in a month or two may be.
Maybe bad battery. Check with some app in the store. And try to charge phone at 5-10% . Never let it shutdown.

Well i think the problem is charging it to 80%... Cz all the tine i charge it to 80%... I fixed the issue by charging the device 5% to 100% overnight.
