Has anybody with this rom flashed had any troubles with the camera fc'ing when trying to take a picture? For the longest time now whenever i try to take a picture it would fc and tell me the process com.sec.android.app.camera has stopped unexpectedly. Could someone with a working camera send me their apk from the /system/app folder to test if that would fix my issue?

go under the camera settings and under the wrench icon tab their is an option on page 2 i think to update camera firmware... select it... then select check firmware then select update... then run the samsung apps store app then it should say if their is an update to the camera. if shut down phone and turn back on and rerun the samsung app store...
i tried that already, downloaded the samsung app and re-ran it, says error service unavailable (error code 4002) when it searches for the firmwarer update edit: tried fixing permissions under cwm and would no-ciq play any role in not being able to get the update?

i would go into clock works mod and then reset the phone and do under advanced i think and clear delvik cache. I would also not use a program like Titanium Backup as you could be restoreing files that are causing the issue. The only restore i do is with my backup and text messages only. I then let the market place update all programs then after that is done I then install from the market my programs... I also recommend that you delete everything on the sd card other then your music and dcmia folder (camera saved pics).... then reset the device.... and then after reflashing then rom then do the no icq then do the fm radio gtalk thing then turn it off and use odin to flash the modem...
i used the ee03 tar to flash the rom to my phone so everything was already done including the modem. i tried clearing the cache and fixing permissions with no luck. ill give resetting the phone a try and see how well that will work for me. also before doing that, do you think you could send me a copy of your camera apk from the system app folder to see if that would work for me?
what you suggested isnt working :-\. i did factory reset, cache and dalvik 3x and and tried doing the firmware update and still no luck. i also formatted the sd card and removed all the extra stuff off of it

I'm running rooted (SuperSU) Jelly Bean 4.3 and decided to try the update_nfcnci_JSS15J.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391170. I purchased some NTAG203 tags from TagsForDroid and used the Tagstand NFC Task Launcher app to write a few tags. Almost every time I use one of the tags, I get the "Unfortunately, nfc service has stopped" message. The only one that works occasionally is the one that didn't require root to write.
I would like to enable the factory nfcnci.apk, but I'm not sure how to get around the 4.3 system file security measures. Do I have to use ADB? If so, how do I install the factory NfcNci.apk.old app and rename the current NfcNci.apk file to have the .old extension or just remove it completely. Also, are there any other options for reading NFC tags with the screen on, but locked?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have 2 Galaxy S4 phones, one is the Active and one is standard S4. I use the Active on another line and switch sims when I want to use it on my main line, usually when I go boating or outdoors.
The standard S4 is rooted and has Cleanrom on it. The S4 Active is stock with the stock apps but is also rooted with the stock Rom. There are 2 Apps that I want to add to my standard S4 and I have tried to move them over but they seem to fail to install.
The 2 apps im trying to move are Optical Read and S Memo which are Samsung only apps meaning they come stock on the phone and you cannot download them from the play store. I used an app called APK Share and backup which seemed to do a good job of backing up both apps. I then transferred them over from one phone to the next and tried to install them. Both apps seem to be a complete APK file and when I go to install them they go all the way through the installation process and right at the end all it says is "App not installed"
I also tried using Titanium backup which failed as well. It gets all the way to installing the app on the phone and then freezes and does nothing. I thought for sure Titanium backup would work but no go.
S memo is the one I really want to have installed since I use a Note 8.0 to take all my business notes on which I would like to view on my Rooted Galaxy S4.
Anyone have any idea why these apps wont install or any other ideas I might try to move these apps over. It seems like it should be a pretty simple process since they are both Galaxy S4s but I guess not.
Did you try and fix permissions on the s4 in your recovery after you copied the apps. I'm assuming you took the apk from the active and copied into /system/app on the s4.

That I did not do. I will have to learn how to do that. I will try and search for it on google. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have a Defy which is on a custom ROM. I bought a Defy+ as a backup but decided to use that instead and try to run it on stock ROM. It was fine until I put a few of my apps on it and it became really sluggish. In the end I rooted the Defy+ and removed some of the stock apps by renaming the corresponding apk files as bak in the system/app folder. This appears to have sorted the problem and the phone runs fine.... except that I appear to have lost the music player. I installed another music player - which worked but conflicted with my lock screen so I wondered if I could get the stock music player back. I've tried renaming likely suspects back to apk from bak but nothing seems to have sorted it (and none of them look too likely anyway). The list of those renamed are

Are any of these stock player related?
The only other thing I remember is looking up TuneWiki when I was doing the cleanup but it doesn't appear on the above list... so I don't know where that is.
Any help appreciated! Thanks,
Take a backup and flash the corresponding sbf. Or try downloading a stock system nandroid for your system version, and get the player apk from there

Thanks. I was hoping not to get into the flashing and restoring business again (I know that's what this forum is mainly about though) and wondered if it was a simple matter of one of the above files being put back to an apk or just putting an apk in the system/app directory. I guess the latter option you suggest may be the easiest but I don't know what the player apk is - I am pretty sure wouldn't have renamed anything that looked like it was a player apk in the first place
I installed a stripped version of stock Lollipop and have used it for my daily driver for a while. There are a few of the widgets/apps missing that I'm trying to add back. I've got the weather widget APKs, but can't get it to install. I've copied it to the system folder and reset permissions and still nothing. I just get a message after the reboot that weather failed. Anybody have any ideas or another APK that will work with stock lollipop? I appreciate it.
