Hey all
So we know the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact features PS4 Remote play, anybody going to be grabbing one for this purpose?
I sold my PSVita as i never used it, replacing it with my note 3 and a Moga controller pro, but this could be a great gaming set-up. Full console gaming on a 8" mobile device with support for the PS controller, sounds like a dream partnership. So who's up for a Vita upgrade?

Have my Vita and love it but really like the idea if actually playing with a DS4 controller through remote play. Looking forward to this.

Looks interesting. I know that if I get a console in the future it will foremost be a PS4, but right now I don't have any plans of getting one.
How does this work, anyway? Is it just streaming the picture over local WiFi? I'd like to be able to do this sort of thing with PC games, assuming it's not already a thing.

I purchased this today. I have been a HUGE fan of the LD games since the arcade days (remember those places?) and I must say that I was floored at the quality on the Play. Man, pocket DL...the *real* DL (not those side scrolling GBA remakes!)
I hope Digital Leisure brings more of these to the plate. This is just fantastic! I wish even more now that the Play had HDMI out!
Dragons Lair is cool on the play. There was talk of Space Ace for Android in the spring

Yes I have that as well. It brings back happy memories of the vast amount of tokens I dropped in that machine when it first appeared in the arcades.

I think it sounds interesting, and hopefully shows that companies are still pondering Android devices with gaming controls.
I'm not sure I'm a fan of the add-on controller strategy though... I do like that I always have the Play controls with me, conveniently tucked away when not in use.
EDIT: Note that it is a 10-inch tablet
I was interested. It does look good. Things like onlive would be great. In the end though, i just went and got the Asus transformer TF300.

Its kinda huge to be carrying all arround the place. Lol. The battery life it would drain with the game + gaming accesory would be terrible. Plus its gonna Cost how much??!! Why oh why couldn't they just make a device with a build in gamepad just like Play. Sony won't even bother like they not bothering giving us anymore update. What a waste.....
Somebody weak up sony ...

Forget about the 5.2 inch Z2. We need to see it made available on the Z2 tablet. That's the device most capable of the feature because of the large display.
Shows how crazy Sony's strategy can be. Release a great feature and announce it with devices less capable for it while the most capable guy stays waiting.
And I say this although I don't own the tablet lol

But...it says Z2 Tablet up there...
disregarding people who can't even read the topic post... do people really not know about hdmi or screen mirroring? the point isn't the screen size since even a tablet screen is too small for any serious, non-touch gaming. the point is that since both devices can output to a larger device, this is what you need to play your games on the go.
Hi does anyone know if the steel series stratus gamepad works on android. It says its for iOS devices however it states its Bluetooth so in theory should work?
If not then they have an older version that works but not as good of course.
Can't speak for the series of controllers you mention, but have you tried Moga?
I'm currently using their 'pocket' game pad to play psx games and apart from 2 missing shoulder buttons (included on their 'pro' gamepad) it works flawlessly.

Yeah I did see that on the shelf next to the steel one. The stratus just looks like a miniature 360 pad.
The moga is a nice little pad.....The only down side is, as I mentioned, the shoulder buttons......With the moga pocket you get.....
'L1' & 'R1'
With the pro you get......
'L1', 'L2', 'R1' & 'R2'
Basically what you'd expect on a console gamepad, so if you're playing a game that uses all 4 shoulder buttons, with the 'pocket' you're kinda stuffed, but with the 'pro' you're not.......
Guess I'll give the pocket to my son and upgrade to the pro......which seems to have the layout of a full sized 360 controller.......including 'd' pad.....

I have a 32GB HP Touchpad that had seen little use for a while, I got an ION iCade cab which connects via Bluetooth to the Touchpad. Although sold as (and originally designed for) iPads they work well with Android .

I flashed the Touchpad with Android 5.1.1 removing the WebOS first. This leaves enough space for the full Mame4droid 0.139 u1 ROMset, the smaller 16GB Touchpad will still host a huge selection of games.
I flashed 5.1.1 because the Bluetooth works well, this is critical for connecting to the iCade, or any Bluetooth controller.
TPToolbox was used to install 5.1.1
Bluez IME was necessary to force the iCade to connect the first time, after that it works every time. This is keeping my 7 year old entertained no end, and was to replace my full sized MAME Cab that had to go as it was (apparently) taking up too much space.
I'm posting this from my phone and will update it from my laptop with more detail.
