signal is great. no idea about 3g, i use wifi.

gps lock is instant! never used sygic.

not much, however gpu is mali 450 and scores 7k in antutu 3d test, where as mi3's adreno gpu scores 14k in 3d.
mi3 total score 40k vs xolo 8x-1100 total score 30k

looks is awesome and extremely light weight and slim.

yes.
Plus the reasons why i bought this model :
it has internal 16gb & its expandable via memory card slot and OTG support is also there.
It has sony camera on back and front
corning gorilla glass protection.
cheaper by 5k compared to all other octa core+2gb ram devices.
octa core MT6592 has technology Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP), which is a more advanced version of big.LITTLE technology. In this setup, a processor can utilise all cores at the same time, or just a single core for low-intensity tasks. This can provide powerful performance or increased battery life respectively.
I can see most of the times in normal usage, only 2 cores are running and rest are sleeping, they get in to action, only when it's required.

so backlit capcitive button means, when u press the menu/home/return buttons, do they lightup ???. they lightup when u touch any of these button when u have unlocked ur screen.

Yes, internate was on. I used google maps to navigate. In this device there is additional feature of gps mode. There are 3 modes: 1) high accuracy - use gps, wifi & mobile network 2) battery saving" - use wifi or mobile network to use 3) device only - use device gps.
How is camera pics ??? how abt low light conditions!!!.

good quality - way better than standard mobile cameras. however, if somebody makes custom rom with cybershot technology integrated within the rom then it should take pics like sony digicams.

Have you tried to check if you are already rooted ?maybe u just didn't know that u are already rooted ..I recommend the root checker at the market .. When I use frama root I don't have any issues,just select install supersu ,barahir success .. Reboot then before you check update the supersu that is installed in your device using the market ..

the hd2 does not have secondary camera and its software doesnot support video call so is there any program or teweak to enable videocall in it through the main camera like devices with no secondary camera

yes, no video calls, no front cam.
If you read the spec you'll see that their is no front cam, no video calls. Just the main 5mp camera.
As for initial query, I'm not sure the HD2 has the necessary hardware & software available in the main camera to support video calling. Sounds like its plausible though, but haven't heard of any available software which would do the trick

Come on guys! Don't tell me you are not capable of creating a cab to allow Video Calling and Video Receiving on the HD2? I am sure you can, so come on, roll on your sleaves and give us that satifaction. Obviousely we out here would be more than willing to reward the one in there who has the guts to take up the challenge! My suggestion: Make it also compatible with external web cams as an alternative to the lack of the front camera.
i will be donating 50 dollars for a working cab for hd2 , (please mods remove my thread to hd2 forum as i already travelled there)

hey all this is just my thought..
why cant since the usb port on the hd2 receives and sends signals for charging and tv out (touchpro 2) why cant the devs create a driver or program so we may be able to use an external cam (by modifying the origanal usb cable) of course, connected to cam, im sure the wires are all the same even if the came itself had to be powerd by batteries.. just a thought

I notice there're two camera-like circular optical devices (are these sensors or what?) at the front top-left of the device - what are these for and can't they be harnessed for use as a front camera? I find it strange that video call support could have been intentionally left out of the spec...for crying out loud???!!

They're the light and proximity sensors.
I would imagine that as the actual use of video calling is minimal, losing the front camera wasn't seen as a great loss, and saves them quite a bit in costs.
It's also more appealing to the networks, notice how video calling on the iphone requires wifi not 3G to work.
My HD can not be use for a video call in China...!
i want to have a HD2 rom with video call....for examle ,the nokia E63 can use the mian camer to video call ，HD2 Why not?
I use my HD2 in Shanghai on China Mobile, I'd love to see this work as well.

I have used Tango on android 2.2 and it works, the only problem is the main camera poins the wrong way, some sort of mirror divice would work but hey, its not that much of a major problem. If you need to video call there are loads of other phones you can buy.
circular optical devices are proximity sensors used to turn of the screen when u hold the phone close to ur ear and to mute the ringer when u turn the phone facing downwards. they are small laser guns which wont record image
HD2 is an AWESOME phone but sadly there is no front camera

1. touch screen is so unresponsive.sometime I have to touch for several times to pick the menu.
2. camera (blur although with image stabilization)
3. can't make video call
4. can't hear any sound when playing radio...
anyone...plzzz help me to fix this problem..
Have you updated your X2 via SEUS? (MR2 update), coz video call and radio option would not be available if you haven't update it.
if you have:
1. To make video call, make sure you are under 3G coverage, from WM panel, or from start menu, click PHONE, then click MENU, choose Video Call
2. For Radio, click media button (lower left corner), choose media, click radio icon. make sure you have a headphone/earphone plugged, coz it will be used as antena and it would not run without it.
3. photo quality is a bit blurry if you see it from the device, IMO.
4. I dont have any issue for touchscreen responsiveness.. don't know with others.

X2 has issues but definitely not the described by yourself, IF you have the latest FWare.
1. Touch screen is fine here....
2. Camera - well digital cameras always have some problems with different, harder conditions, please specify...
3. Video call depends on having 3G on both sides.
4. ?? My radio works like a dream. Find the controls, maybe it's mute...

The X2's touch is a resistive one, it has all the advantages and the drawbacks of that technology.

Yes the camera is nothing to be proud, high megapixels number but everything else is average or below average.
It takes good shoots in a sunny environment, but also a crap iphone can do that.

You have to use the headphones as happens on almost any other radio equipped cellpones.

I am pleased about X8 hardware but the camera.
My previous phone is Nokia 6120 Classic with 2.0 mpx camera, it hasn't auto focus as X8 neither but sky and earth.
In the group of non auto-focus cameras the nokia's solution is #1, 5 star performance. Unfortunately SE-s camera hardware could have only 2 stars. The reason of my opinion: slow response time from ccd, that is why your pics become cloudy and (motion)blurry.

So... anybody has any kind of software solution to make X8's camera a little bit more usable?
A little tip from me:
Camera Pro: you can use your camera without capturing noice. And it has some possibilities to set brightness, contrast and color after shooting.
But it doesn't solve the built in motion blur effect. :[

Ah. I had problems with the camera being super-blurry too. But this is easily remedied, just set the camera from 'Auto' to 'Sports'. This will fix this 'motion blur' issue you are having, but doesn't stop the overall quality being crap.
You should know by now that mobile phones don't make very good cameras anyway.

Putting your phone into silent mode should do it. If not, download an app called "Volume" by 'CoreCode' and turn the system volume all the way down. Not the most ideal solution, but it works. I'm sure there'd be a better option if you rooted (such as replacing the shutter sound file), but I haven't messed around with any of that yet.

2) GPS connect and disconnect with MAPS of google
3) speaker volume in calling is really low!

Buy a new phone! Jokes aside. The camera is notoriously bad, no fix there unless UMIs engineers decided to spend some time on the camera software, the 13 pixel Panasonic should be able to produce good pictures since its a decent lense.
I only had a decent GPS on the Eragon rom which is a ported rom for the umi super, every stock rom has terrible satellite recognition, so if you want a GPS that works good switch rom.
Speaker volume can be cranked up inside engineer mode. (I've attached an APK you can install on your device to enter it.)
Is there a way to disabling USonic feature of Ultra? Also even if I turn it off from settings after a while it enables itself instantly. I also experienced some huge lag on the phone when I turn off the screen while earbuds are connected. Thanks in advance.

If you install RR rom, sound will be 1000% better without any lag and without USonic feature.
The only thing you will lose is secondary screen but everything is working better, including earbuds.

If you tweak schedutil governor, battery life is amazing with no lag at all.

I can confirm sound is good and working with any earbud... Even my Le Max 2 CDLA earplugs are working fantastic....
I am waiting for Leedroids update also, with HTC software base the secondairy screen works and thats a big plus for me... Maybe Leedroid can delete the Usonic terror from HTC rom
