[Q] line call recorder - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm looking for a call recorder that records the line itself, and not tries to record the call through the mic (which usually results in poor quality and low volume). I know the SGS5 has this feature built in, but I want an app that starts the recording automatically, maybe for selected phone numbers, and uploads to the cloud (if possible with some notes attached) or gmail.

Distorted Recordings... Even voice tags. Cannot find Microphone AGC. HELP!

My voice tags are recorded with ridiculous volume. cannot even recognize my own voice. When i record a video with the camera, the sound captured is completely distored too. i was looking for something like a microphone AGC ( automatic gain control ) in the settings tab. but cannot find. any suggenstions?? what should I try?
PS: In call volume is perfect., so it's no a damaged microphone.
Thanks

no more audio in videocamera and speakerphone mode

hi to all
I have buy the SGS2 from a few days...I don't know what I've do but I haven't no more audio when I rec a video and when I receive a call and I press the "speakerphone mode"! for normal calls without speakerphone mode the people listen me, when I press speakerphone the people don't listen me and today when I've rec a video with the camera and I've replay the video the sound there isn't, only a noise/whispering sound.
I've tried to make a echo test call with skype app and the sound registered is ok, I've also tried another rec audio app and the sound registered is ok.
The problem is only on the calls in speakerphone mode on and in the videocamera mode.
Please anybody can help me to resolve? thanx
anybody know if there's an hidden menu that's possible to reach via # and * where there are all volume settings? with videocamera volume and speakerphone volume? (I don't know if is the correct word..I talk about the "live calls sound")
The SGS2 has two microphones (one is used for example for cutting out wind noise when filming). The secondary mic is placed right next to the 3.5mm headphone jack.
It could be that the speakerphone and the camera app both use the secondary mic to record audio (since it's easy to block the main mic at the bottom when holding the phone using both these apps), while Skype on the other hand uses the main mic (so that wouldn't be affected).
If I had to guess then I would say that the secondary mic is not working on your phone
I've noticed that when I play a recorded video the 5.1 icon is in grey and if I try to activate it I receive the message "the 5.1 is available only with speakphones". If I play a normal song with the player and I try again to activate the 5.1 I receive the message "this effect isn't supported for this speaker".
I remember when was all ok, in the video player for recorded video the 5.1 icon was in white and activated
is there a secret menu where is possible to check the status of the speakers?

[Q] Do voice recorder apps improve sound quality?

Hi. I recently got a galaxy s4 phone. I want to use it to record commentaries and stuff for youtube but I was wondering if using certain voice recorder apps will make my voice sound better or if sound quality only depends on the mic and not the app?
yes there is some apps that is better than the stock recorder
but the stock is ok too, just try to record from a distance and dont breath on the mic

Problem with Speech to tect on Oreo and above?

I bought a demo phone on ebay. It sure is a sharp looking device.
I have 2 problems:
1. Unable to OTA; it just won't. No big deal, just sideload or fastboot
2. Microphone, speech to text will not work on Oreo and higher. Microphone works for calls only, can't record sound in the videos, no speech to text etc.??
I'd like to know if anyone else had these issues with a demo PH-1 and was able to resolve either matter?
It tries to use the noise cancelling microphone instead of the primary mic is what some speculate. I noticed if I tap the back of it while recording a video, the sound is recorded! But talking it does not record me, even if I get close to the rear microphone.
Somehow the phone remaps the apps to using the wrong microphone for speech to text and recording, but phone calls work fine.
So it can only use Nougat 7.1.1 unless you don't want speech to text and recording sound. Looks like a possible software issue, maybe the hardware is slightly different on the (earlier) demo version, as well?
