Everytime I download something download manager gives me all the notifications of everything I've downloaded since I cleared the cache and data for download manager. After I clear the cache and data it clears the recently downloaded things but.. Starts building up the notifications again until I clear the cache and data again. It's very annoying.. I've tried to make ADM(Advanced Download manager) my default but it never asks me when I start downloading something if I want to use ADM.. Soit just uses download manager. I've tried using, Default App Manager to change the default for downloads but ADM doesn't show up in the list of apps. Please help.
I'm running CM 11 on an s4
I think this is a bug in download manager. I don't know of a fix. But I've noticed on my Nexus 4 that it only keeps displaying notifications again if you don't dismiss the download notification before shutting down or rebooting if that helps at all. When it does happen, just like you said you can go and clear the cache of download manager.

Downloads are always unsuccesful on first try. whenever I want to download something from the browser I just click download like 10 times and see if I get lucky and one of them successful. This had never happened to me on with the market and I have tried all browsers like mirren, dolphine, stock, and opera with same results.
I also am on stock and not rooted (im scared to brick my phone)

From the market download astro file manager. Go into preferences and check enable browser downloader and see if that helps.

O wow...thx.... I did have astro but not that checked...thx again

This don't happen with me that way...
I mean, sometimes my Nexus S just download the full apk and then when its time to install it just jump this step, making the program just downloaded and not installed...
That still didn't work!
I'm so frustrated right now : (

I've started noticing this as well.
As an example I'll go to download an APK (or whatever...) from this forum while logged in on my Nexus S....click the download link, get the "Download unsuccessful" notification. No matter how many times I try to download it just doesn't work.
It's kind of annoying.
As a workaround, I have found that Firefox is able to download stuff to the phone - but it's kind of a pain to load up that monstrosity just to browse and download.
guys, do this to fix the download unsuccessfull issue, you need to use titanium backup to fix...
open titanium, press backup restore, find download manager and downloads. press on it then press wipe data. do this for both. reboot after, and try to download something.
your holding it wrong. j/k
I get this too....wipe old corrupted files then download ...
or download with wifi if it doesn't work then try 3G.
The fix is to goto settings -> applications -> manage applications -> Download Manager -> Clear data
Also trying clearing data in the download app as well.
Hello. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo with CM12.1 ROM installed on it. I never had any problems with it, but yesterday, I found out that I can't install any app from Play Store or APK file. I tried to go back to Stock ROM and it worked on it, so I went back and installed CM12.1 again. I installed essential apps, enabled root access and used it for a while without any problems, and I couldn't install apps again after some time! It's driving me crazy!
Play Store shows error -501, installing through an APK file shows an "App was not installed" error and ADB shows the INSTALL_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR. Also, every app in Application Manager is 0 bytes now. Please, help me!
I tried to wipe cache and dalvik-cache, reinstall Gapps. Also, when I enter the Memory option in the settings, it's calculating forever.
EDIT - OK guys, I'm so stupid. I accidently disabled some system services by using Servicely. It's now working
Hi,
since android pie first update, i cannot see notifications about google play store when i'm updating apps(for example).
What can be done?
before hard reset,
thanks.
Hi,
i found a solution that worked for me and can work for anyone which is facing this issue:
1) Settings-> app & notification->see all apps->3 dot at top & choose show system-> android setup-> clear cache and data
2) Go back-> scroll down to download manager app-> turn off all the setting and enable it again
RESTART NOW
3) Go to app and notification-> select Google play Store-> clear cache and data
Now start downloading any app.

I installed the new google calculator app with dark theme yesterday and it was working fine until today where the app itself disappeared and i can't find it in settings or disabled apps, i tried to reinstall the apk but it shows this, i tried from the play store and it shows this, i tried to use a method i used before to bypass this kind of issues by slightly changing the package name in an apk editor app and it used to work, now it's just giving me "problem parsing the package"
please any help
Another user reported the app had occupied 1GB space on his phone, so the app seems buggy.
If you cannot clean the apps memory/cache in settings/apps anymore and uninstall then I would suggest you search for the com.google.android.calculator folder(s) on your phone and manually them. Then from TWRP also wipe dalvik cache and cache on next start and for the time being, until Google fixes it, use another calculator.
I am happy with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shaytasticsoftware.calctasticfree (only 2.9 MB and better reviews than Google).
Hi,
My stock "files" (com.google.android.documentsui) will not open anymore.
I've tried clearing cache and data but it will still instantly crash.
I've also tried uninstalling it with terminal.
That helps with choosing what file manager to choose in some apps.
But a few apps are dependent on com.google.android.documentsui and will not open a pop-up screen to choose a different file manager.
I've searched through the web without an answer. I don't know what to do except factory resetting.
I'm rooted, running the 1.1.3 update, is anyone else experiencing this?

Click to collapse
Try a factory reset and if it keeps crashing, I recommend upgrading to 1.1.4..
