Yes it is enabled. What am I looking for in the phone section? Everything was working fine until the root. I tried to flash a different ROM to see if it would help but got a boot loop when I try to flash CM.

Your status tab I believe its called. I'm on AOSP so it might be a different name. Try dialing *#06#

[Q] About rooting

I recently bricked my s3 trying to install a custom rom. This time around with my new G2 i am just going to root, so i need to know what the best root is right now and is there a possibility of bricking during root process? Also i am on the verizon VS980 with the JDQ39B build on 4.2.2. Thanks
There always is a slight Chance that something can go wrong. As long as you know what you are doing you should be fine. I also have the Verizon model and I rooted it and installed custom roms without any problems. Just make sure to backup

[Q] Flashing through Download mode

LG G2 Verizon Wireless, locked bootloader
I was trying to wipe my data through TWRP for G2, when it crashed. Not able to boot into recovery, and when putting the phone in download mode, the Windows Flash Tool (UpTestEx) does not give any errors, but the phone doesn't seem to do anything.
Any ideas?

Possible SafeStrap on 4.4

Using this would we not be able to boot Safestrap since SELinux is all that is stopping us?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485
I changed mode to permissive, installed APK and I am booted into Safestrap creating a ROM slot right now... will flash a ROM to it shortly to test.
You don't need that app to use safestrap. Just a rooted phone and then install app and recovery

Can you confirm that safestrap works on KITKAT 4.4? according to hash its broken in kitkat and may never work......I've heard rumors that there might be a work around though.

Are you sure that you are not on 4.2.2 using the 4.4 rom on your 1st ROM slot. That is the only way I have heard of having KitKat and still use Safestrap.
I am on 4.4 rooted with slap and running eclipse ROM flashed through safestrap. It does work

Hmm. I tried that setup and I got constant issues with the dialer not working when I tried to place a call. Also issues receiving calls.
It worked probably 60% of the time.
I tried to run it on a slot and on the stock side.
Both ways was super finiky. I wonder if it was The ROM being the issue.
I ended up flashing back with RSD when I got frustrated.

What version of SafeStrap is everyone running? I have the VZW Moto X, and want to make sure I use the correct version. I am running 4.4 stock, root.

There is a 3.65 for Verizon as well. I just installed and it's working fine it seems.
Edit: I should also say that when I say it's working fine, I mean it installed and I was able to boot into it. I also made a backup of my stock slot. Other than that, I haven't done anything. I would attempt to install another ROM into a different slot, but I don't know of any roms that are compatible (I haven't really looked). Still, it seems as though it's working fine.

[Q] Rogers g2

I'm new to the g2 and don't know how to tell what roms are compatible with the Rogers g2. I was told that the boot.img for various d803s are different and I'm wondering how to tell if a rom is safe to flash or not. Thanks

Only install the ROM if it says it supports your model. The model number isn't just a superficial change. If you do flash it with something unsupported back everything up. EVERYTHING. Then prepare for some bricking down the road if you forget what you have done to it. I just did a full week of unbricking because my d803 got flashed by the previous owner with an ATT recovery which was somehow permitted because an unsupported ROM was flashed onto it.
Also, if you have a copy of the stock ROM on your phone… Can I have a copy?

So if it says it supports the d803 then am I good to go? And how would I go about copying the stock rom. I'm fully stock no changes.

You need to…
Root using this guide.
Install TWRP. Just use FreeGee http://bit.ly/FreeGee
Make backups. Follow this guide.
Move the backups onto your computer for safe keeping. (android file transfer software)
Then after all is said and done, you throw some roms into a rom folder that you make using android file transfer software. Reboot into the TWRP recovery and install the roms.

There's actually quite a bit now. There's Carbon, Mahdi, Paranoid Android, Beanstalk, Dirty Unicorns (running it right now and it's pretty damn good) and Hellfire KitKat. Although I had problems flashing Hellfire, so you might want to wait till the next release. :/

Yes. If you wipe internal storage its a pain in the a#$ to restore phone. So be careful not to wipe.

Hey man, I'm new like you. Yesterday I finally figured out what was the problem. You need to have TWRP 2.6.3.4 installed (you can install 2.6.3.2 and use it to flash the 2.6.3.4 zip file. I don't know why, but 2.6.3.2 won't flash 4.4 ROMS.
I'm using Paranoid Android's most recent ROM for the D803 and it's great. I use the Nova Launcher and it provides that little extra bit of customization. I removed all of the rogers bloat crap and the thing runs like a dream. No issues so far, at all.
If you need any help with anything, or with finding the .zip for TWRP 2.6.3.4 just shoot me a message and I'll see if I can help.
Good luck!

Auto-rotate issue with Kitkat ROMs.

What's going everyone? I'm having this auto-rotate bug on every Kitkat ROM other than LG Stock KK and I was told that it is the modem but I have no idea where to find a Stock KK modem for when I want to switch back to LG Stock KK. I have a T-Mobile LG G2 and I know where to find the older modem to fix auto-rotate but can't find LG KK modem for T-Mobile.. Anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated.
