SOLVED: This was being caused by the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app. Disabling the app fixed the problem.
I recently switched from T-Mobile to AT&T, bringing over my unlocked T-Mobile Galaxy S4 (not rooted, running stock android, got the SIM unlock code from T-Mobile). After fiddling with the APN settings everything seems to be working fine, except every time I reboot I get the following text message:
From: +1121611611
122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. Activate:dt=15
Any ideas? I first saw this error text the first time I rebooted my phone after switching the SIM card to AT&T, and I get the same text whenever I reboot my phone now.

Dear Colleagues,
First of all, my apologies if this issue was included in some other post, but I was not able to find it.
I have used the following tip to root my Atrix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255548
Everything went ok until yesterday. I left my phone charging during the night and when I woke up, the phone displayed a message saying that "SIM Card is invalid". I've rebooted the phone and everything went back to normal. 20 mins later, the same error showed up. Rebooted again, and it worked again. A few minutes later, I've tried doing some calls and the dialer looked like calling but it was not able to connect. I have restarted again, and the same happened, only that this time no data was being transferred. I checked the APN and there was none. So it seems that it was deleted by the phone. I re-entered the APN info, everything worked again, but this morning the same happened after charging. Now my phone displays randomly the following error message: "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.", the APN is gone and it restarts randomly. Any clue?
Should I do a factory reset?
System Info:
Android: 2.3.4
Build Number: 4.5.91
Carrier: Movistar Argentina
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Fernando

2) Did you unlocked your BL?
3) Do you run any rom or mod on your phone?

similiar issue here:
yes i have performed 1 and 2.... sim unlocked and bootloader unlocked
please help
thanks
edit:
i bought the phone "new" from ebay. everything seemed and appeared new and clean on phone so i am inclined to believe that it is in fact new. i have unlocked the bootloader, rooted the phone, and entered a code to carrier unlock it. the code appears to work as i have recieved the "phone is now carrier unlocked" message. however, where my bars should be i have an X. then, when i search for a network i recieve 3 networks: 2 att's and one tmobile. I am using a Claro (dominican republic) sim card. i try all three of the searched netowrks and recieve the same error for all of them: "network with limited service found." now i have an exclamation mark in my notification area which reads: selected network (att) is unavailable.
please help!!! i leave for the DR on sunday and need this phone to work!! thanks for your help in advance!

I did purchase an unlock code from unlock-code-central.com. Put a different SIM, typed in the code, got the message all went well, however phone says "emergency calls only"
Can anybody please help me with this?
Is my phone unlocked or not?

There was no need to purchase the code as there are several threads here on how to menu unlock it. But since we are beyond that, I'm guessing the other SIM is not provisioned and has no service on it. Try using a friends T-mobile SIM. That's how I was able to check the menu unlock method.

Thank you for your answer.
I used a regular size Vodafone SIM which I just used in Europe last month, on my other phone, so that SIM should be ok.
However I used a SIM cutter to transform in into a microSIM . Visually looks ok too. Could it be that in this process the SIM (now microSIM) got damaged somehow?
When I first insert it, I was prompted for the unlock code, which I typed, got an ok message, but that's about it.
Now says "emergency calls only" and it does NOT prompt me for the unlock code anymore.
Original ATT SIM works just fine.
There's more: I just put that Vodafone microSIM into my wife's phone (which is unlocked) and it works fine.
So bottom line, I used an unlock code which apparently worked (got the message "network unlock successful") but the phone does not appear to be unlocked.
I will definitely try a T-mobile SIM as soon as I find one, but in the meantime which is that "secret code" to check network status for this phone?
*#7465625# does not work and returns "connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Thank you
anybody has the answer to my question ?

Ok so i rooted the phone.
Unlocked sim from srint to rogers in canada
And no data obviously.
I know i have to enter the ##data# code, but it will not work since it is on 4.2.2,
I get the 6 digit code but the phones reboots because it will not accept the code.
I tried as well to change the build code but when i try to save, it gives an error code.
I did the mf9 radio change over as well.
The phone works but no data.
I have read all the posts, but to no avail.
Am i blocked for real, or should i install an older series instead of 4.2.2. And try it all over.

Not your usual "your sim card does not allow a connection to this network" error
Hi,
I've been using a rooted Note 4 for many months with no problems. Then yesterday I decided to unlock the phone because I will be traveling out of the country in the near future. I paid for an unlock code, and while waiting for the code to arrive flipped through the xda forums trying to unlock the phone for free. I remember doing the following:
* Trying a bunch of *# codes, but (as far as I remember) not changing any settings.
* Running RegionLock Away 1.3 found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470551&page=79 ... this failed saying that the operation failed with an unexpected state. Running the "undo" operation failed the same way.
* I swapped from the local SIM to the international one, then back.
Somewhere down the line (before I entered the unlock code) I started getting an error message "your sim card does not allow a connection to this network" for both SIMs. Here is what I tried:
* After the problem started, I entered the unlock code with the international SIM installed. I no longer get prompted for an unlock code for this SIM but the original problem remains. So, I'm guessing that this isn't an unlock problem.
* If I try using the original SIM in someone else's phone, it works fine. If I try using their SIM in my phone, I get the "your sim card does not allow a connection to this network" error. I asked for a new SIM from my service provider and got the same error message. Conclusion: the problem is not the SIM card, but rather something to do with the phone.
* I tried flashing the firmware back to the stock image using Samsung Kies, then using Odin, then ran a "factory reset" from inside Android. None of these helped. Conclusion: whatever is in a bad state, it's outside the firmware.
* Running *#60# returns the right IMEI number. So that doesn't seem to have changed.
* Telus confirms that my IMEI is not blocked and nothing is wrong with my account as far as they can see but they can't tell me whether their network sees my phone trying to connect.
* APN settings look correct.
* Samsung is asking for $600 to replace the motherboard (claiming that it is a hardware problem) and refusing to cover it under warranty because the phone is rooted.
* My network connection mode is LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect). I tried all other modes and it didn't help.
* My model number is SM-N910W8
* I did most of what http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045869 mentions. *#*#4636#*#* didn't work but I assume that's because it's specific to HTC phones.
Please help! I am leaving the country in 2 days and I am literally going nuts trying to figure this out. I am afraid I will be forced to shell out $800 for a new phone when the existing one is only 9 months old.
Is there some phone state outside of the firmware that I could try resetting? The only thing I updated using Odin was
Thank you,
