Hello guys! I purchased a dual sim Galaxy Note 3 (Chinese Unicom version) from China, an SM-N9002 running 4.4.2 KitKat. I want to root it to flash gapps and Cyanogenmod. However, after countless attempts at rooting the phone, none of them seem to work. They all seemed to throw my phone into an endless boot loop, that could be fixed by going into download mode and hitting cancel. Even after the boot loop, I do not have root access (I checked with a terminal emulator apk). No root seems to work, not even towelroot. This obviously means that the phone has a locked bootloader. I am not sure what to do now. My goal is to get root, flash gaaps and Cyanogenmod. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi I have been running with a rooted Note 2 for two years now and it is time for a change.
I just bought a phone Rooted Running Android 4.4.2 rooted with Safestrap on swappa.
I don't really understand what I can and cant do with this phone, like can I install a lollipop rom? Cyanogenmod Rom? do I have to stay on 4.4.2 ?
Also, can you tell me what NOT to do so to lose root, this phone seem a bit locked down, more so than my note 2.
The seller sent me this not today:
"Hi Plainbum. I will be shipping the phone out in a few hours during my lunch break. I have wiped it clean and installed a fresh copy of 4.4.2 with root and safestrap. I went ahead and renamed the 2 files in the file system that are known to force a system software update by renaming the files to .bak, so you shouldn't have to worry about the phone trying to update itself. I have included all the files you would need to re-install a clean copy of 4.4.2 unrooted, plus root and safestrap on a 4gb sd card at no extra charge. Please refer to XDA forums should you need steps on how to do this, and take note newer versions of android may not be rootable on this phone. Thanks!"
Can I never run a rooted phone with a lollipop or MM ROM?
Thanks for any advice
If you install a stock lollipop or mm rom then you will lose root and even if you downgrade from them root it lost. Cm and aosp roms also won't work because of the locked bootloader. I think the only 5.x type rom is JasmineRom if i remember correctly
Thanks! Let's say I successfully INSTALL jasmine, do I have to stay there to keep root or can I safely go back to kitkat?
Just wondering if anyone was successful in installing xposed framework on the metro version of this phone and making it active? I have looked far and wide and after countless soft bricks and restores I admit defeat. As stated in the title my phone is the metro version of the grand prime android 5.1.1. I am running the trap kernel by Shinyside on this phone along with supersu.
I have followed many tutorials on several different versions of this phone and each one has ended in soft bricking the phone. When you search xposed SM-G530T1 it returns nothing but topics about stock firmware and xposed on the 530H. The only version that didn't soft brick is xposedinstaller 3.0 alpha, yet even after granting root privileges and rebooting I am still greeted with The latest version of Xposed is currently not active.
Edit: Solved using Wanams fix for samsung Link below for his steps to fix

Help me Please.
I have been going through this same problem but the other forum doesn't help as much I have the same phone a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530T1 rinning lollipop 5.1.1 the metro version. Um my rom is custom gwiz I think with a trap kernel l.. I had to install that through flash fire app. Because I can't seem to get CWM or TWRP working on my phone... can you let me know exactly what you did starting with rooting your phone to installing xposed ?:crying: :crying: :crying:

Well first I flashed the stock rom with odin waited for the phone to reboot then I set it up just like you would a new phone. Once it was completed I shut it down and put it back into download mode and flashed the trap kernel located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/development/kernel-root-root-sm-g530t-5-1-1-t3203476
After that was done waited for the phone to reboot then flashed twrp from the g530h with odin . A forum search of TWRP-SMG530H will lead you to the file.
Once I gained root and flashed the recovery I needed to find out what type of cpu this phone was running so I installed droid info from the playstore. The system info shown ARMv7 so I went to the link in my original post and downloaded XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk but did not install it just yet. First I flashed the framework xposed-v85.1-sdk22-arm-custom-build-by-wanam-20160 with twrp. Once it was done I cleared cache and rebooted. It took the phone about seven mins to boot.
Then installed the apk gave it root permissions rebooted and thats it. Also Note that the twrp version used cant make backups because it was not intended for this phone but it will flash whats needed. After many, I and I mean many failed attempts this was the solution to my problem.
Ok
So you don't have a Custom ROM or is trap Kernel a custom rom... I'm still kind of new to this but I will try
Thank You
Thanks it's now working
For some reason I can't root my Huawei P8. It currently running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Before that it was running on Android 5.1 Lollipop and it was rooted. I've tried many times but was unsuccessful. The bootloader is unlocked (In the fastboot screen it said phone locked in red text). I flashed Twrp recovery install SuperSu but no root. Have anybody experienced this kind of issue? Any threads or site that can help me fix this and get my phone rooted? Thanks in advance.
Btw current build version is GRA-UL00C636B361
there should be a method with 2 zip file to flash in two steps (one right after another restart), but it was for the p8 lite, I do not know your model
you need kernel and last twrp....follow this instrction:

My Note 5 let me down, so I am back on my Note 3 after almost two years during which I haven't flashed a rom. My Verizon Note 3 (SM-N900V) is still running Eclipse on Android 4.4.2 (if anybody remembers what that is) but I have problems with some applications from google. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to be able to flash one of the latest Roms such as Lineage OS? While I am reading posts, any help would be much appreciated.
Try to use CF Auto Root for the Note 3 to root it. After rooting it, install Official TWRP App from the Play Store then download TWRP 2.8.7.0 (which is what most ROMs require) and flash it in-app (which requires root). Reboot into Recovery and you should have TWRP. Happy flashing!
OP this is not the Verizon forum .
Hi,
I'm trying to root my daughter's Blade A452 with the latest dis_eu_a452v1.0.5 firmware, if at all possible without data loss. I tried KingRoot, KingoRoot, TowelRoot, all without success. Bootloader is locked, so flashing TWRP and SuperSU is not an option I'd like to pursue, if there are other ways.
Strangely, my other daughter's A452 rooted without any problems, but I didn't check the firmware version at the time -- might have been another one.
I'd appreciate any help!
Greetings,
Christoph
Are you trying unlock bootloader?
Not necessarily, except if there's no other way to get root. I know how to unlock the bootloader, but this would erase all user data (which I'm trying to avoid). I really don't need an open bootloader (no plans to flash a custom rom), just root access.
