RGB sensor REVEALED

There has bean heated debate on the topic of what the RGB sensor was many people passionately belived it was just the LED indicator, but after reading a review they said its actualy a sensor for taking pictures better pictueres as it automatically adjusts the camera in relation to the lighting, we can all sleep easy tonight knowing the truth
Dunno if true or not, anyways thanks
Edit:
I closed my mind while thanking him.
LED is Light Emitting Diode
If their is light in a phone, there is led, definitely s3 has an notification led.
It maybe possible that there is a sensor next to led, but an led cant be a sensor !!!!
I'm finding it a bit hard to believe that the "LED" has any sensor properties.
Would you mind elaborating on your source for this information?

Light sensor and screen protector question.

Hello,
I just bought a samsung note 10.1, and for now I just put on a makeshift screen protector which is covering both the camera and the light sensor. This is just until I can buy on to fit it. Anyway my question is, it seems like the auto brightness isn't working or working well. I have it on and the screen seems very dark, and I don't have the power settings on either. Would the screen protector covering the light sensor cause this?? or is there some other kind of issue?
Thanks all.
I can't recall how the auto brightness worked before I installed a screen protector so I can't comment on its direct impact but I wouldn't think it should matter. I do find th auto brightness a bit too dark in almost all situations and I think that is a Note 10.1 issue in general.
I just did some test in varying light conditions and the sensor was quick to respond and went quite bright when I was in a very bright room. I just think it over compensates in dark situations.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure it's ok, but it's been awhile since I had a android tab, so I wasn't sure.

One more question. Do you slide the slider for brightness all the way to the right then click on auto? I heard some say you put the slider all the way to the right, then click on the auto brightness, and that it wont clock lower then the max or something?

LED notification intensity?

On my note 4 the LED seems pretty dim as compared to the LED on my Note 2.
Is there any way to change the intensity? Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I tried downloading Light Manager and it's already set to 'bright.'
Do i have a faulty unit or is the led just that dim?
I think the led notification on the note 4 uses ambient light sensor to adjust its brightness. Try to test it. Just shine a bright light on the sensor and turn and off the screen and you will see the led notification is brighter.

I always wanted my the light to be dimmer on my Note 2, bought the flip case just to be able to keep it face up at night by my bed.
Yuuuup I also noticed the notification light on the Note 4 is verrry dim and hard to see even at night sometimes from certain angles compared to the Note 2 which is what I switched from.. Always liked having a big bright notification LED on my Note 2. It was even a bit bigger of a cut-out for the LED on Note 2 as well.. Bummer! Kinda takes away from the point when I can hardly see it in daylight! Come on Samsung, f*cksa matter with urself!!
I wondered the same
I also came from the note 2 and its great led notification. Moved to the note 4, love it but the led is barely visible.
My notification light is only visible at night really. In normal lighting indoors it's visible, but not enough to catch your eye. Seems silly.
Is there a way to remove the "auto dimming or auto bright" function? I'd rather it just be bright all the time...is that a romantic or a kernel thing?

Just bought a Tab A (SM-T510) Does this tablet not have adaptive brightness?

I planned to use it in my vehicle, my previous tablet had adaptive brightness and would obviously adjust lighter or darker for day driving or night driving. If this tablet really doesn't have this option it's not going to work so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. On my phone the adaptive brightness option is right under the brightness setting in display (S8 9.0), tab a 9.0 doesn't have this option. Am I missing something somewhere or am I returning this thing
Just got one too, today actually. But I did my research for this one and it does seem that it doesn't have adaptive brightness because there is no ambient light sensor to begin with. If you look closely at your front facing camera, you will only see a camera module, no ambient light sensor.
So, if you can, try to get a refund or exchange it, in case that is a key part of your setup.
I got a Samsung T510 myself and I'm quite happy with it, I too find the lack of light sensor a bit of a problem but you can have a look at the google play store and search for "adaptive brightness camera".
There is a few apps that use your front camera as light sensor, it drains a bit more battery than a proper light sensor but it'll do the trick.
You could try "Velis Auto Brightness", "Camera As Light Sensor", "Lux Lite" or "Automatic Brightness - Camera" for example.

Confirmed. Samsung's product development team was taken over by accountants.
Wow. Thank you for this post. I was looking at this tab to maybe buy.
I know it does not have a camera flash/LED in the back, but to not have ambient light sensor is bad for a device like this.
I recently got a cheap $40 Amazon 7" Gen7 tablet (which recently got fully unlocked, check it out!) and it does not have an ambient light sensor. For $40, I can forgive Amazon, but I don't think I would want to go without that on a larger and more expensive tablet.
I have to wonder how much they saved on that part.
It's pretty lame that Samsung tried to save on this light sensor in a $300 tablet..... I bought mine without knowing.
Hi, I have tablet tabA-2019-T510 with android 9. I have tried to unpack its boot.img in Linux with MKbootimg_tools-master but I get this message: "ramdisk is unknown format, can't unpack ramdisk". any advice please?
Same thing here. Bought samsung a10 tab (T510 ) and really sad to see that there is no light sensor. But is there any 10inch tablet with light sensor? I see even the higher models s6 tab also didn't have the sensor. The ipad 10inch also don't have light sensor.
I guess the 8inch version of samsung has the sensor. The specs didn't say it though.
The Tab S4 and S6 for sure have ambient light sensors. I had the Tab A 8" for my daughter and decided to upgrade her to the 10" for usb-c, a better display, and more RAM....only to find the speakers are worse (quieter but better audio quality) on the 10" than on the 8" and it lost the ambient light sensor. Both of which are ridiculous.

Red light near speaker when in sunlight.

Have any of you noticed a red light to the right of the speaker when in sunlight? When in direct sunlight you can clearly see it but when you get into a darker place it's not noticeable anymore.
I think it's just the ambient light sensor but I just wanted to make sure nothing is bad on my end.
It's probably a reflection of the light sensor as you said, but you're under some goddamn strong sun to be able to see that, remember to use sunlight filters XD
I'm pretty sure it's ambient light sensor, probably you should try calling someone and see if it lights up at the same place where you see it
Used an app called "Proximity Sensor Test" which tells you when the sensor detects something which confirmed it is a proximity sensor. RMN 7 has a Sensortek brand and they have proximity sensors with ambient light sensor combined so I'm pretty sure it's both.
