[Q] Any way to Re-Partition the Find 5? - Oppo Find 5

Is there anyway to re-partition the Oppo Find 5? I paid extra for the 32GB version not knowing that the main partition was only 2GB. I'm quickly running out of space for apps and many of my them can't be moved to the "SD card" partition.

I found the thread on the subject

Partition SD Card and where does Android store the market place apps

Hi there,
I have two questions concerning Android:
1. Is it possible to partition a, let's say 16GB sd card, into two of 8GB each? So that one I can use for WM and one for Android?
In this context, my second question: Where does Android, if I start it with HaRET, the apps save when I download apps from the store? Does this information interfere with Windows Mobile if it is not saved separately?
Thank you a lot!
Kind of. If you look around the other android device forums, you'll see stuff mentioning "Apps2SD". This basically is a 600mb ext2 linux partition where all your apps would be installed (haven't bothered but will probably do this next!).... an absolute must for 2.1 Eclair users, less so for 2.2 Froyo rom users since there's an "official" App2SD solution. Don't think there's a specific way to separate the two yet.
Any apps you are currently installing in Android are getting written into the data.img file.
Finally, if a Mod is looking at this thread, can we have a "HD2 Android General" forum for Android-HD2 specific questions? This Dev thread is getting messy.
Thanks a lot for your answer. Will check on this.
But what about the partitioning of an sd card? I would like to have Android an WM separated on my memory card, especially because I have to have a clean sd card and put the files into the root.
hi there
what tool can be used to open the data.img file, is this possible?
use zipscan to do this it's in the guide

Idea/thought

Hi guys Android development is evoluvating to new diamention.I have tried from Build from SD cards and RAM version and NAND ROM.The NAND ROM is better of all but the biggest disadvantage is internal storage.when many apps are installed 'memory is low' appearing.even after moving all movable apps to sd card using move2sd.some programmes use internal/phone memory like evernotes, copilot.
so my idea is can't you guys create vitual storage in sd for the NAND like the one we had in SD card based build.which is easy for portablity of data when we update.GUYS YOU ARE BEST DEVELOPPERS IN THE WORLD HERE
This might be useful for those with 512 version of HD2, or maybe even for 1024, and it should be pretty easy to mount file from SD same as data.img from SD builds.
But! The question I had is, do you really need to create thread with "Idea/thought" subject? Can't you call it "Increase data space for NAND builds" or "Mount data.img with NAND build" or something like that? It's cool of course to create "Idea", "Question", "Help", "Please" etc threads...
Hi dude,
the reason I created this is - it gives an idea to developpers to develop in their next nand to focus on more storage as you know new native phones have more than 1Gb internal space it goes up to 16GB. As I have mentioned some apps can not be moved to SD card. You may have different idea on how to open thread which is not nessesarily same to others. Give something which is useful to development of andriod on hd2.cheers buddy

[Q] CM7 7.0.3 SD install and "out of space error"

Hi All,
Please bear with me: I've searched and found no clear answer.
When installing apps from the Market, a few errored out with an "out of space" error. When checking space, I still showed 75% remaining.
If I waited a bit, the app would install correctly.
Any idea what's going on, or how to correct it?
I have the option in apps manager to move any selected app to the SD card, but I hesitate to do so as I'm already running the whole show off the card (8-16G-so there's still plenty of space...)
I suspect that there's more in play here than available card space.
Any advice/input would be appreciated!
I'm an old-time DOS/Windows user, so Android/JAVA/Linux are still part of a learning experience.
Thanks,
Dan
Did you ever get an answer to this?
I am doing the same thing but with an 8GB card and the partitions seem to create as they are supposed to but if I install more than 2-3 apps it tells me I am out of space. I cannot get a solid answer as to which partition I need to resize to fix this.

[Q] Note 3 Miscellaneous Files taking up 29GB - rooted Jelly Beans Rom

Hello,
I've done a big search to solve this issue, but none that helped. I just bought a Note 3 32GB version Verizon, and I rooted it immediately and added Jelly Beans Build 4. I've barely put anything into internal memory. I look at the Storage and it says I have 29GB used up as Miscellaneous Files. (To which I clicked on and it at most lists 50mb of miscellaneous files) I then used DiskUsage and scanned and saw that my internal SD card only has 2493 MB of storage total. There's some type of issue with it that doesn't allow me to use up all of my 32 GB of internal memory. Could it be the root or rom preventing it?
How do I fix this?
Now that I think about it deeper. I did use Safestrap to root it and I had to create my own partition. Could it be the fact that I just created the partition with the default settings (as in the amount of memory used)? Should I have raised this to 32gb? I think Default was 2.5GB.
To further try to solve this issue, is there a way to increase the amount of data allocated to this partition? Or is there a way to copy everything in this partition to a new one that I would create at 32GB? I would rather not have to restart and redownload everything again, etc.

Your problem seems to be that you need to read a little more - you are not in the correct forum, this is NOT the Verizon Note 3 forum!
Oh I'm sorry, I Thought this was a general Note 3 forum. And I thought this would be a general Note 3 issue, but I guess it seems to be a rooted and ROM issue.
Your search failed you. Put the rom in the stock slot and your memory readings will be correct. Otherwise, ignore them.

Safestrap does not show your free space correctly, it has to do with the way Safestrap creates its partitions. If you use a file browser or switch to your stock ROM you will be able to see the correct amount of space. If you want to maximize your free space and if you want everything to show correctly the only way to do it is to flash the ROM to your STOCK slot. There have been numerous posts about this and I advise you search a little more. Anyways, it isn't anything abnormal and it's perfectly fine. Not something to worry about.

Low memory Lg Gpad 7 solution

Hello everyone,
I have been a long member of this forum and use all the roms and utilities made by the developers with much joy.
This is why i decided to do my part and post a little something of my own.
Just to be clear, i am not a developer but i am just a user who shares something interesting for the Lg Gpad i found on another forum.
This "trick" or modification iff you will is tested by me on the Gpad 7 (v400) and i can confirm it works.
It might be working for other devices to.
For the record, i take no responsibility for any bricked devices, problems or issue's you might encounter.
Because i use my Gpad pretty much i found out soon that the internal memory is not sufficient.
I found a solution for this problem.
Below i post the manual i found online.
A prerequisite is a rooted Tablet with a custom recovery.
If you dont know how to do this, search the forum.
There are a lot of threads that can help you.

IF INSTALLING FRESH ROM BOOT INTO ROM BEFORE DOING THIS HACK SO THAT DATA CAN SETUP ON YOUR INTERNAL MEMORY. THIS HAS TO BE DONE. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT BOOTING INTO ROM FIRST.
For the best results this should be done with a class 10 SD Card.
1. Partition your sd using TWRP.
Your first partition should be FAT 32 Primary which would be used as your " SD Card" , Your second partition will be your EXT 4 primary partition which will become your new " Internal memory ".
In TWRP this is done by entering Advanced >partition SD . The size you choose is the new internal so make sure its what you want and make it EXT 4. The Remainder will be your SD Card.
2. Back to the main menu and mount your sd ext partition.
3.Back to main menu go into settings and check the option that says format using rm/rf
4. Back to main then Wipe> Advanced> Wipe SD Ext
5. Back to main go back into Settings and uncheck the format using rf/rm .
6. Now flash the datacopy.zip attached to this post
7. Now flash the datainstall.zip
8. REBOOT TO SYSTEM. GIVE IT TIME TO BOOT AND YOU SHOULD BE SET CHECK YOUR NEW STORAGE SIZE IN SETTINGS !!!
If you want to UNINSTALL flash DataOnSD-uninstall.zip.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well i hope you all enjoy the new storage space , and remember the faster your sd card the better.
Regards,
Alex
Hi mate.. Can I ask you how did you manage to flash a custom recovery for this tablet? Are you still in KK?
