Hi. I managed to get my lte to work using the test menu (#*#*4836*#*#) or the hidden settings (3845*#802#) and both worked.
Now I can go to my mobile settings and change to lte.
But each time I restart the phone the setting is reset.
How can I keep it permanent??
Thanks
Edit: solved. If anyone gets to this topic, here is the fix :
More precise google search ended me here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52251432
And solved.

Hi everybody,
For some reason today I deleted my APN that I normally use, now however I set it up according to the parameters my mobile service provide like before, the mobile data doesn't work anymore. I can turn it on and off but on the status bar, it does not show, and I don't have internet access.
I believe it's some bug of the ROM (CM7 newest stable). Any solution other than reset to factory settings?
Thank you !
Ah ! Never mind...
I was so desperate and was going to reset to factory settings for a whole afternoon. Then I saw there's a reset APN settings. I used it and now it's working again !
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I've looked everywhere for an answer and i cannot find one,
I have a rooted Nexus 4 with Franco Kernel and Xylon ROM on giffgaff
Whenever i receive a call i cannot answer it because this message shows up and i have to click 'OK' which hangs up, also at the end of outbound calls it shows this message.
This message only occurs when i call/ get called.
I have tried clearing the data from 'Phone' with no avail, also updated my ROM and Kernel. I have reset my Mobile Networks/Access Point Names to default but still this problem occurs. I will be grateful if anyone help and fixes this, Thanks
Hi, I had this problem too and searching around I found a solution that fixed this problem twice for me:
Go to settings -> applications -> all and go to Phone. Clear data & clear cache. Do the same thing with Phone/Messaging Storage apk. You will loose your contacts but it fixed it.
I have my phone contacts sync with my google account so in 10 secs my address book was back and no more "process" problem.
Apparently some kind of corrupted contact causes this, so every time the phone tries to access your contacts and match the phone number, the process crashes.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Ive cleared the Phone data but Phone/Messaging Storage is all blanked out so i cannot click on it? :/ Any ideas?

Were you able to clear your address book? In the end it seems that is what fixes it. Try to delete all your contacts and reboot. Than you can tell if it helps. As far as I know, the next option is to factory reset. That's what I did the first time I got the error, but later it came back because of some bad contact. And if you do that test it by calling yourself from another phone before adding contacts.

I have cleared all my contacts manually and rebooted the phone but still it comes up with the message, Im thinking that i need to clear the data from Phone/Message Storage but i probably clicked force stop on it before and i need to 'Start' it again.
I would just factory reset and flash the rom again.
Honestly i havent got a clue what happened but i did a factory reset and my custom Kernel and ROM were still there and i tried calling myself and it fixed it, somehow :/ Thanks guys

Redownload and reflash the ROM including Gapps, if it still doesn't work then try a different ROM. Make sure you re-download the ROM though, since you may be getting this error due to corruption that occurred when it was downloaded.
Edit:
Oh you fixed it. Never mind.
There's a chance my error started because I flashed the. 33 radio after the ROM and gapps. The correct way is first the radio, than RoM, than gapps. I don't know if that's your case, but be aware of that.
have this occasionally on cm10.1 flashing different nightlies.

This problem is mainly caused by corrupt or incompatible APN predefined settings. Try clearing all of them and just using the one you need.
To speed up the process, navigate closing the error as many times as required to the apn list, and once in the list, toggle airplane mode ON, that will stop the force close to show up, now delete all the entries, and toggle off airplane mode.

First thank you for the fast response.
I have just updating my rom (from cm 10 to cm 10.1) and when the system starts after the end of booting the error appears.
I have activated the airplane mode and no changes the error is continuing and when I go to settings --> the press on more in networks it says: "unfortunately the process com.android.settings has stopped".

Then it's one app that you got installed. Try removing any non essential apps.

Thank you sir for your help
but I solved it installing another kernel
Hey guys,
Im new to here, and new to LG G2, but already did a lot of readings inside this forum and on google about rooting and so on, aswell as about my problem. Now here is my problem, i am using international D802 version, updated to official 4.4.2, then rooted and did not change any kernels roms or anything, installed all the apps and evrything worked just fine, but then after like 5 days or so, suddenly my mobile data dissapeared and i just cannot use it, even though everything else is working (wifi, calls, sms..). And the same day my phone did itself a factory reset, but still nothing changed with mobile data. When i turn on mobile data the icon turns blue, but there is no icon on status bar. Tried inserting APN information manualy, did not help, now i have flashed cloudystock 2.0 and SimpleKernel v4, and still nothing changed. Maybe anyone knows how to fix this? If it helps, under Settings>Network> Mobile network state says "disconnected". I am connected to my network, Mobile network type: HSPA, Service state: In service. Dunno if it helps but thought i could add some more info. Thanks in advance.
Bump.
No ideas about possible fix? Still no data on my phone.

Did not know such hidden menu. What should i look upon there?
Sorry for spamming, but i have still not found any potential fix to this. Maybe i should try to completely ho back to stock 4.2.2 and then update and reinstall everything again? Or something less extreme is possible?
My data is working again, i have uninstalled xposed, and went to stock recovery, wiped cache and everything is oké again

Type *#*#4636#*#* then pick phone information and scroll down you'll see a box where you can pick between LTE/WCDMA/GSM and so on. Pick the one that has all three. Then press the menu button and tick enable data.

Tried cleaning cache with twrp, because i somehow cannot enter stock recovery using power+volume down, it simply enters hard factory reset screen. But still wiping cache did not help me.

Hi.. I tried this as well. But still the data connection is not showing. The data connection turns blue and shows selected. But no symbol in the notification area. I didn't root the phone or do any techie stuffs yet. Bit scary in rooting as i bricked once with my LG p350 model and it went useless. Please help in clearing this data connection problem. Thanks!
Just switched carriers and now settings crashes/fc's
Us997
Rooted with Magisk 17.3
Stock 21c
I reflashed ROM but problem persists.
This started as soon as the new SIM was installed.
Went from AT&T to tmobile
I can back door into some settings by long pressing on settings icon in Nova. From there I can hit the back button and see settings for a moment. Then it fc's. Just pressing the settings icon fc's immediately.
Any ideas?
Edit:
Extracted settings apk and then installed using package installer. Still crashes. It's hard to believe that a new SIM would prevent access to settings.
When I get home, I'll try removing the SIM and reflashing. Might need a full wipe and a clean flash too.
I'm just the curious type who wants to know why this happened. I know t mobile sends settings updates in texts and "installs" them when tapped.
Has anyone had this happen before?
