Hi guys. I have Samsung Focus (SGH-i917, HW Rev 1.3) flashed on Clean ROM (WP 7.5)
1. Can you suggest me a good video player app which supports MKV?
2. Any app which plays DLNA streaming videos
3. Any app which plays Samba mounted videos
4. Is it possible to copy videos without Zune?
Thank you!

Hi
Are there someone recommend softwares for converting MPEG video file into MP4 that can play in Athena WMP 10?
I tried ImTOO converter but my Athena says it doesn't support that file. I have old MP4 files that are able to play in WMP 10.
Thanks
Felcus
install TCPMP and the codec pack then you will be able to play any MP4's !
where to download?
google is your friend ! start with just TCPMP and if that does not work add the codec pack, the codec pack can be a little harder to find so I will up it for you.
Video recorded on HTC touch cannot view on Windows Media PLayer
HI,
can anyone help? I recorded some movie on HTC Touch and when i copied the file to my PC, I can view it on Windows Media Player 11. How can i solve this?
Do you mean you can't view it?
What type of file is it? MP4, 3gp, avi?
Id recommend VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ on the PC for viewing most video files. Its free, lightweight and just works.

I dont know why you did not start your own thread on this but try installing something that can play 3gp files like quicktime
Windows Media Player supports only certain type of Codec. To make WMP support MP4 format, you should install filters for MP4 format and its associated codecs. After you installing these filters, all players that use DirectShow technology, include WMP, will support MP4 format.
Install the following codecs to have a try.
Elecard MPEG-4 Codec Pack
If you can't install or still can't play MP4 in WMP, converting your MP4 to WMP natively supported WMV or AVI format with Faasoft Video Converter is the best choise.
I have HTC Desire HD and not play the video files.
Please help.
Hi,
What format are these video files? Encoding, resolution, etc...
Have you tried re-encoding them with Handbrake?
The default player will play .avi video files which are mp3 encoded.

hi,
Download this tool:
http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/
It is imo the best video converter available, and its free.
Simply select from the side 'MPEG4 ASP (Xvid)' for video, and AAC for audio. And for format select MP4. The reason why these are the best settings for the Desire HD is that these codecs are supported at the hardware level.
Ok after you're done selecting the formats, the important thing is when you click save, you must write .mp4 at the end of the filename. Without this then the file will have no extension.
You should get the app Rockplayer from the market to play your vids. Its great because it has a hardware playback mode and will play any file you converted, VERY smoothly as long as you chose the settings i described above. I was stunned when i watched a trailer from Gran Tursimo 5 that i converted.
Anyway hope this helps.
Format is 480p BRRip Xvid AC3-FLAWL3SS.avi.
Before I have the Galaxy S and watched moves with mVideo Player, so as I got my HTC installed the same player, but it could not run a movies. I started to install different app palayers and managed to let them in VPlayer beta.
Hi,
I use RockPlayer, you can play Divx, Avi, Mp4... no need change the format I have a full version from 1.5.1 Mod edit: warez url removed from my Megaupload Account
Regards!
Anyone manages to play most 480p/576p.H264.mp4 files in blackstone via windows media player? in what rom and how to? Thanks...(I have great trouble playing mp4 files. The wmp which exclusively supports H264 acceleration always gets nothing but sound, coreplayer simply cannot play the aka files, and TCPMP skips too many frames.)
Or can an adroid system solve this problem? I've tried a lot, none of them is able to play video files.
I have the same problem, too. I cannot watch videos any player skips so many frames what resolution, player and video format should i use to watch videos ??
Use Touch HD encoder guyz. Nothing is better than it for our HD. 800*480 resolution, h264 mp4 format and no frame skipping problem-or other-.
Just bough a vega... its running what it says is modaco custom rom....Have transfered a 1080 mp4 video file taken on my mobile phone (galaxy s2) but it wont play it.
It tries to play it but it is very jumpy

Any ideas ? or should i download a different media player?
Thanks
Have you tried moboplayer from the marketplace, I've found that whatever media file I throw at it it plays fine.

mp4 video playback
I use Rockplayer, it seems to play everything I have tried.
Try MoboPlayer and donĀ“t forget to download the Codecs too.
This should be enough to play it.
I use Vplayer for all formats

I thought that the Vega could only play 720 vids?
I have a non rooted a500 and since the last update all videos playin super fast forward speed and can't fix it. I've tried uninstalling and ReInstalling mobo and other video player but nothing helps. When I put videos on a flash drive and do it that way it does the same, also with recorded videos with the built in camcorder also play in fast forward.
I think it's a codecs problem. I experienced the same trying to copy the video stream from a mkv into mp4 (apparently there was a problem with b-frames and had to reencode). Did you try to reinstall the codecs for mobo? Or you could give mx player a try - works much better than mobo for me.

Try getting mx video player from the market. If it needs a codec, it will prompt you.

First you would remove the codec. To do this you would go into your settings - applications - manage applications. Find the video player in this list. There should be two entries for the video player app. One is for the actual player, and one is for the codec. Select the codec on and uninstall it. If your video player is decent, when you try to run it, it will prompt you for a codec to which you can just follow the link to install it from the market.
