I saw this question many times now and got curious myself, so I opened the last three radio files and compared them.
There are indeed many differences in the binary files, they just never changed the baseband version.
You can look for the baseband version yourself by searching the following string:
4d 50 53 53 2e 44 49 2e 32 2e 30 2e 31 2e 63 37 2d 30 30 30 32 30 2d 4d 38 39 37 34 41 41 41 41 41 4e 50 5a 4d 2d 31
You will even see that the baseband version is in different lines in each binary.
So eventhough we don't have changelogs for it, there were definitely changes to the files.
In case someone needs one, I uploaded them to my drive.
I flashed the latest with fastboot and using it with Team Gummy ROM at the moment, which is working pretty well so far.

I was actually just looking into this myself. It does seem to be the case that they just didn't change the version.
Would be pretty easy to change the binaries so that they would display a different version, but that's not really that important, I guess.
Just wanted to know if the files are different and they are.
so what kind of differences are there?

They're closed source so you don't know. Try them out and pick the one that gives you the best signal / battery.
One radio doesn't fit all. Some radios may do better for u and that same radio can perform worse for others depending where they are.

I have tried everything. It doesn't make sense to flash all those radios because I have had all those versions of the OS with their radios. None of them solved my issue: continuously losing 3G connectivity, indoor connectivity is pretty much non existing. It really sucks. And if I set it to LTE, then I don't receive any calls.
Well maybe for you it doesn't, but it general, of course it makes sense to test those radios, regarding signal strength and battery life.
Here in germany, with o² if have no problems whatsover and even the wifi signal strength is much better and more stable than with my nexus 5.
I suppose it's a select number of individuals facing the issue. There are reports of this issue all over the forums and CM Jira. But no one seems to take it seriously. We need to diagnose the issue and find a solution. My phone is completely unusable 70% of the time.

fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
....... you dont fastboot flash a zip. thats probably the flashable zip, open up the zip and u can find out.
Didn't make a flashable zip, so yes, you have to unzip it till you have the "NON-HLOS.bin" and then flash that in fastboot mode.
The 33R here and the "NON-HLOS.bin" in the CM11 nightly are not the same size.
Which one should i flash?

Flash the one that gives you best performance. You have to try it yourself to determine which is better. Bigger doesn't mean better.

Hello friends,
as some of you will know, modem is that part of rom which is responsible for network communications. When people install custom roms, they are stuck on the modems which are included in the roms and i've seen many people asking how to change the modem to their locale. Below is the list of some modem files. I'll try to update the list as much as I can. Instructions on how to install will also follow soon.
Post 1- List of Modem files by country, version number and release date. You can decide what modem is best for you.
Post 2- Links of CWM flashable modem files.
Post 3- Links of Odin flashable modem files.

I'm trying to CWM flash DDJV7 on my old I9000 after a clean install of the latest CM11 snapshot & it failed, though the status was 0.
Just wanted to know if it's compatible with this CM version before I try to mess more with it?
If it is compatible, I'll try & capture a log of the failure next time I try it.
Current baseband is XXJVT which is the default from that ROM but I'm facing call drop & disconnection issues on long calls with this modem.
Wanted to try out DDJV7 since that was the last that Samsung provided for India on the I9000.
Understand that this is a very old thread but my issue is relevant to this thread to trying here 1st.
Thanks!
No, these files are old and were meant for cm 9, etc. CM11 is quiet different.

It worked! I dirty-flashed the .zip & it installed successfully.
The immediate change I observed was the stable full signal bars with signal fluctuations around -75dBm (screenshots attached).
With XXJVT the signal used to fluctuate a lot & around 85 - 90 dBm, sometimes remaining above -100 dBm.
So prima facie it looks like a definite improvement in the past 2 days. Will keep observing & report back in the next 3 - 4 weeks including call quality & battery performance (not much info available about DDJV7 it seems).
Also planning to do a clean install of everything this week (hopefully) & see how it goes (with a "de-bloated" CM11).
Hello everyone, I write through the translator, maybe someone will not understand, but I'll try to explain! I would like to know how to change the identifier to MX4 since changed it to MX4 PRO, MX5, PRO 5, to install the international firmware, thanks in advance! Acquired Chinese model M461.
Hello! Tormented with this mx4 constant Russification, considered mmcblk0boot0 in hex and noticed a curious code, and it is in the same shift in the European and Chinese vehicles and coincides with their sw_version (46151004 and 46111004) are themselves divided mmcblk0boot0 are almost identical, except for the last blocks. It crept into the idea of ??the possibility of change id. Id are placed in reverse order (as I understand machine code) version A 04 10 11 46 version of G 04 10 15 46. Checked on multiple devices with 3 different id. Offset 0000db5a. This is a sporting interest, ask for help.

Aslam O Alaikum,
I'm going to give you a complete tutorial For Rooting + Fix of Battery Drain DUE to ANDRIOD OS
* This will work on All Note 5 Variants (T-Mobile SM-N920T, Canadian SM-N920W8, US Celluar SM-N920R4, Korean SM-N920K, SM-N920S, SM-N920L,SM-N920C, SM-N920G, and SM-N920I) Mention Here.
Reason : First I tell you why this happen, When you first time root a Stock ROM and then you came back on Stock ROM or Un-brick/Unroot to Install Offical Stock ROM, it happen that Note 5 start draining battery.
Solution : There are a lot of solution available but i personally found that all are some how use some resources like when you install an "BatteryDrainFix.apk' (After Rooting) it always run in the background, and this is not a permanent Solution.
After 3,4 days of research and testing i found that the below method of Fixing is easy and very useful and also it doesn't use your extra memory resources so its a permanent solution..
I found the Tutorial here..
Follow the Instruction and have a good day.
NOTE : Use on your own Risk
I don't follow. He just seems to root it? You posted the same link twice.
I've rooted/unrooted multiple times. Full format multiple times (checkbox city in TWRP advanced wipe). Tried 4 different ROMS and 3 different kernels, 5+ Battery Historian diagnostics, multiple versions of gapps and I've made zero progress getting anything above 3.5 hours SoT.

That's still absolutely atrocious. I have the screen on extremely dark, no apps running, just browsing blogs and reddit on Sync with AMOLED mode.
If I do this on my Oneplus One (from early 2014) I can literally wake up, do it all day and have the phone not die before I go back to sleep. 4 hours screen-on-time is ****ty chinese knock-off levels of garbage battery.
I have N920i and I didn't root my phone but after MM update I have battery drain issue (Android OS) any suggestions?

Hey folks,
Just got an h910 v10l from aliexpress (quite cheap, looked brand new, see note below)
Rooted it, installed full v10r from the forum (and also super rom on v10v, very happy with it except for a slowness issue, see note below)
I tried various lineageos roms (14.1 official, 14.1 x86cpu, 15.1 second screen by phr00t, 15.1 unofficial no second screen) but they all gave me a crash
(kernel panic, see image attached below : it says "Kernel panic - not syncing: susbsy-restart: Resetting the SoC - modem crashed")
when I go to an area with no phone signal ...
... can anyone help me ?? maybe there is an alternative kernel that would work ?????
(not having this issue with the stock(?) v10l kernel that came with the phone or the mk2000 kernels that are in the v10r or the super rom)
Thanks folks for any help !!!
Additional Notes :
1) I have some doubts if my phone is a real h910 as lgup said "unknown model" (but in the "connexion" it said "h910") and so didn't want to start ... maybe someone could help me with that ??
2) my super rom is very nice but it's kind of slow when installing an app ... looks like it's slow when writing to the mass storage ... otherwise it's fast ... in comparison the lineageos roms I tried were always super fast :good:... I think I am going to write more on that ... in the mean time maybe someone could help me with that ?? thanks
Edit 07/09/2018, answer from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77549768&postcount=2081 :
"I've also had the modem crashing quite often, and it happened more frequently over time. At last I didn't know what to to, so I thought why not use KDZWriter to reflash the modem? Well for me that worked, but after three months I started getting these panics again, so just used KDZWriter and it worked again."
=> the problem is that I don't really know where I could get a working modem software (I believe my modem firmware is at least from the v10r rom I installed ...) any help on this maybe ??? thanks !
Edit 07/09/2018-2, from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76877050&postcount=1092 :
"eh, somehow i fixed the kernel crashing by flashing modem.img file from Alpha Rom 2.0 package (i think it's 10U based) "
(adityajiwap has an h910 also )
Edit 23/09/2018 : here is the firmware from adityajiwap : https://forum.xda-developers.com/v2...5-1-lg-v20-t3775689/post77597800#post77597800
I tested it on RR and it was working but I was disappointed by my screen colors (kind of yellowish/brownish/darkish hue) and went back to Alpha ROM (I didn t know that I could use KCAL color settings with Gamma Kernel at that time) before I had time to test it in some place with no signal ...
Edit 9/10/2018 : similar issue on reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/lgv20/comments/9i7igk/issues_running_resurrectionremix_on_h910/

Your problem started when you flashed los, so you should discuss your problems in the lineage threads and not all over the v20 forums in multiple posts
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
I can confirm this happens on my AT&T V20 h910 with any of the latest LOS ROMs (RR, RR SS, LOS, and LOS SS) and gamma kernel builds. It only happens in areas where coverage is poor in LTE and I see the status bar switching between LTE band 12 and 4 as the LTE flashes from LTE <-> LTE+. I can confirm it is LTE bands 12 and 4 as LTE discovery shows alternating bands before the kernel panic and modem crash. This only happens with LTE, as using network mode GSM/WCDMA auto (2G/3G) shows no crashes until LTE is enabled.
This appears to have happened sometime after the September builds, but can't say for sure as I was running flashed US99610f firmware, and went back to H91510e -> dirtysanta -> H91010r in hopes of fixing the IR blaster (just needed to set anymote to "use alernate IR commands" smh). I couldn't go back to using US99610f as it kept bootlooping after "Android System Android is Updating" notification. This panic doesn't happen on US99610f or H91510e or H91520a. I made my own H91010v firmware zip from dumps and it didn't help with the modem crashes. Using a H91020h stock oreo ROM let me unable to use fingerprints so I didn't test any further.
Now I have flashed the modem in this recommended zip 4 times through fastboot to make sure it sticks:

From the looks, the modem seems to come from a VS995 variant as the Baseband Version is "-00053-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.121063.1" cut off due to length, likely "MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00053-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.121063.1". A google search led me to a gsmhosting log mentioning it as VS995 firmware VS9951AA (LG.com shows this as from February 2018).
AT&T never seems to have released version MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00053 at all with any update.
H910 10l-10m: MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00011-M8996FAAAANAZM-1
H910 10p-10u: MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00045-M8996FAAAANAZM-1
H910 10v: MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00045-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.145041.1.149166.1
H910 20g: MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00058-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.155473.1.156374.2
H910 20h: MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00058-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.156374.2.165514.1
I will report back on my findings with this issue... it usually crashes for me daily as I frequently lose LTE coverage, and this seems to trigger the modem crash & kernel panic.

Is your phone running OK now with the "recommanded" zip firmware file ????
I am still on Alpha Rom 3.0 and I am "itching" to go Resurrection Remix Second Screen with Gamma Kernel but I still haven't dared because of this modem crash issue ...
Thank you again if you can answer

Yes, my phone is now running fine without bootloops whenever I lose LTE coverage. Now it properly falls back to 3G, 2G, Emergency Calls Only, or No Service. I forgot to test if LTE bands 12 or 17 work, they might not since this appears to be a Verizon VS995 modem. You can try testing with LTE Discovery and using the crowd-source option, and look back at the logs after a while.
