LG G3 D855 Updates improvements - G3 General

Hello everyone. I wanna to discuss about firmware updates offered by LG, for your experience is that's upgrades or downgrades.
Which update suits you best ?

I also want to know this. I am in the UK 16gb and on firmware 10G. No idea which firmware inproves what and which firmware u can flash.

How about 10J ?

10j running really smooth here. Battery life was amazing in 10i itself for me. Hoping better results from 10j.
It hasn't heated yet. No reboot till now.

I have read someone is complaining about restarts and shooting down problems. I have tried all kdz and didn't have any problems of that kind, so i thing it's not a firmware issue.

I don't know really. just noticed this new FW.
I observed that Quick Circle app does not work well under 20D. It has screen refresh issues when case is closed.
never happened under KitKat.
I hope that 20E solves that.

Can I install this on an SEA phone?
I have unwittingly bought a D855 32Gb phone which looks like it was meant for the south east asian market (V10K-SEA-XX).
Can you answer the following questions for me?
1 - Will this EUR rom work on my phone?
2- Will my phone still appear un-rooted i.e. indistinguishable from a bought european phone (Some of my apps will annoyingly refuse to work if it's rooted)
3 - My model does not currently have the 4g option, from reading on here I believe it has been disabled in the software of some SEA phones. Will this EUR rom enable 4g?
I suspect (and hope!) that the answers will be yes, yes and yes! Give me some good news!
Thanks for your help
Hey!
I hope it will help but I'm a super noob and that was my first flashing ever.
So I have the SEA model too. I used this update and everything worked without any problem, I have the v20e version now. (The software version changed to GLOBAL but it's still SEA - so you will only get the OTA when they get the OTA at SEA region.)
I read somewhere that you will get the OTAs when it will be available for your region (so SEA in our case). But since flashing is super easy and I can't wait weeks to get my updates probably it wont really affect me.
And I can see the LTE option in the settings.
I atached 2 screenshots maybe it's useful for you!
Have fun with Lollipop!
Thanks for the info mate, I think you've just convinced me to have a go with it. Which software did you use to flash yours?
Can you confirm that your phone did not need to be or end up rooted as a result?
Cheers

I tried several Fw till now but I found this the best available till now: great battery, better reception, no lags.
Is RAM management better? No unlock screen lag which happens sometimes? Do I need to wipe or I can update via Odin?

RAM seems ok, no screen lag till now;
Odin is ok, but a full wipe/factory reset after installation as usual is suggested

I'm wondering if this firmware would fix the standby drain issue that some of us has it?
I flashed this and works fine, thanks to the OP for the download link. Can't say I've noticed my difference performance or battery wise though.

H815 TWN receives V10e

Hey guys, i''ve received 50MB V10e OTA.
probably one before the V20 Marshmallow
Got It As well
Just searched for the update as soon as I saw this post, which is now. So downloading now. I'm curious to what has been changed.
Mmm. Most disappointing when waiting patiently for the official Marshmallow update for my TWN device.
Doesn't suggest that we will be receiving it any time soon.
Received as well for SEA variant
Anybody on the TWN version found a rooted image for v10E? Right now I've got a rooted V10D on mine and OTA doesn't install. Any suggestions?

You have to remove root via SuperSU settings, then install the update using LG Bridge.
Once I get the update on mine (hopefully today) I'll root the image and upload for others to use.
EDIT: Got the update - I'll root the image and upload it. Will post a link here when it's done.
Here's the pre-rooted 10E system image. Flash as normal

As far as I can tell now, it is pretty cool. I had to wipe all data anyway, because I had my phone rooted before, but the new permissionmanagement is really nice. The new battery-saving function which shuts down apps automatically is a bit confusing.

Hey can you explain what KDZ is? (i new at android and i dont know much) i want to get rid TWRP and root too to get the update
I've been with stock rom and got latest 21A update via LG suite. I hate it It's been a struggle, but CM 12.1 was worse in some areas, so I decided to stick with the stock.
The lag is killing me, random reboots, slow camera. Feels like I own a 2011 phone. Hopefully M will be a little bit better, but I'm not expecting drastic performance increases.
Oh well...one can only hope.

It will wipe everything on your phone now. So back up your photos and contacts and anything else you have in internal sd.
On Cloudy G3 and I will wait on an appropriate modded stock based rom before moving on to 6.0.
Being on stock unrooted doesn't mean you'll get the Marshmallow update on those days
Doesnt surprise me if LG pull back the 6.0 update till february just like they did with the G4 (cause of some sort of,"bug".). Lets wait and see next week.

Exactly the same thing that happened to me.
I don't know which part helped, but I did 2 restarts and then unplugged the battery, on the 3rd start it seems to work fine now. I charged it to 100% and I'm curious if battery life is at all improved. It went downhill with the initial update to 7.0 .

Regarding V20e-TWN-XX update for LG G5:
After a few days of use I can say that the battery life has not changed/improved as compared to before this update. "Phone Idle" is still #1 consumer, using 2X as much energy as the next biggest energy consumer.
I have not inspected every option, but I don't see any other changes due to this update. If I would have a choice I would most likely not upgrade to this release, although nothing bad has happened either.
