Anyone want to talk with their friends on Samsung Gear - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to talk with my friends via voice when I driving the car. But you can't use your IM on mobile to do it while you driving. So I'm wondering whether I can just speak over smartwatch via an app which can send out voice message.
Anyone have the same need?

When I am driving, I drive.
I see no reason to break the law, or do anything distracting.... there is nothing that can not wait until I am home, or parked.
I can take phone calls, my phone syncs with my car's On-Star System. (This is safe and hands free)
All Android Wear devices have no speaker, when you say "Samsung Gear", if you mean Gear Live (no speaker) but if you actually mean Samsung Gear you are posting in the wrong place.

I would love to have this, I go to a lot of car meets with my friends and it would be cool to have some sort of walkie talkie app to talk on.

Get a Car with BT and Car Hifi Navigation System with integrated Handsfree, It is available in most cars already,
Otherways get a Parrot Handsfree or a Car radio with Bluetooth, like Kenwood or JVC or any other brand with good car hifi radios.
Also you can buy PMR or LPD WalkiTalkis with VOX function.
How should this work with any Android Wear Device?? There is no speaker in the watches so far. Till "Knight Rider" it is still some time (watchface already available)

Cool :fingers-crossed:
Any other senarior you want to use it (walkie talkie over smart watch)?
BTW, Galaxy Gear does have speaker and micphone, so it is possible to have this feature.

We are in the Android Wear Forum, so I was thinking about the 2 Watches available atm. and both have no speaker.
There are also watches available with normal Android and SIM-Slot in it, maybe thats the right choice then. But it is not Android Wear.
Also there are Walkie Talkies available that are "a watch" for small dollars on ebay. But they have no other function at all.

I'm thinking this will be fixed soon, since I hear android wear has an update coming that has to do with multiple Bluetooth devices, this would allow you to have a Bluetooth headset synced with the watch which is synced with the phone. I think it's mainly for listening to music store on watch

USB Radio Transmitter

Does anyone know of a Kaiser compatable radio transmitter for the Kaiser so I can use it like an itrip and play my tunes from my kaiser in my car over a radio frequency?
anybody have any experience of this thing:-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/11-Pin-Mini-U...=item150134591006&_trksid=p3286.c33.m20.l1116
Any old usb/headphone splitter will allow you to do this, as the FM transmitter element simply plugs into the 3.5mm headphone jack - FM transmitters are, notoriously, pants though but if its your only option, I would suggest getting your own splitter and then getting a different FM transmitter that has digital tuning, so you can select any frequency, and not be limited to 4.
Something like this:

thanks a lot for your help i will do just that!!
You know what I am looking for... I would love to see a Bluetooth FM Transmitter. Then you can just enter your car, and wirelessly play your music through your phone. Anyone know if these even exist? I did a brief google search but it looked like everything was either a car kit for hands free talking or just people wishing they had one kind of like me.
Universal Belkin adapter.
Personally I use the belkin 3.5 inch universal FM transmitter.
the audio quality isnt grand but its very passable.
http://www.thegadgetlocker.com/product_info.php?cPath=218_169_103_110&products_id=2794
I've been using that for my PSP and zune for a while now and i'll be using it
with my kaiser as soon as I get my miniUSB to 3.5 adapter in the mail.
I recomend it.
Say that again...
Hi...
FAO Captainsensible/JPHCCFC or others with experience on this...
I'm wanting to do the same thing but have absolutely no technical knowledge about this kind of thing.
I have a Mk4 VW Golf with the standard VW fit, quad speakers radio.
What products would I need to buy to get my Kaiser playing through the car speakers, and, how would I need to set it up.
Links to the products and detailed advice in plain English welcomed & much appreciated.
TIA.
Regards,
Mark.
Another option would be this, http://www.techlore.com/article/10247/How-To-Play-an-iPod-or-Other-Portable-MP3-Player-Through-a-Car-Stereo/.
I think the quality is better than the FM transmitter.

I use an iTech-clip connected to a cassete player adapter normally for a walkman. Gives me BT stereo music and when clipped to the sunvisor acts as a hands-free automatically cutting off the music when a call comes in.

It took me a while to track one down! But I finally did and I just purchased on off ebay... It is from a brand called Scosche. It sells new for US$90.
It functions as a Bluetooth Reciever (for bluetooth devices with Audio Push, such as the Keiser...) and as a hands free. It plugs into the car power, and I understand it has a built in battery for portability. I should be receiving it later next week, I'll update on how it works

I was one of the first in the states to get the venturi and have been using it for several weeks now. The quality is great and it is the only device I know of that transmits caller ID to the FM radio via RBDS. It is not the cheapest, but only thing i know that transmits FM, charges phone, and does bluetooth calling/stereo. (not to mention it works flawlessly with the Tilt/kaiser)
Hi,
Just saw this on google:
http://www.aftermarketcellular.com/ic/UNIJABRAA120S.html
Most new radios have a plug in the back for external CD or other audio, just connect this and you dont need an FM transmitter.
Good luck...
I have a Monster Icarplay for the ipod. I am wondering if there's any way of modding it to use on my kaiser. I know the ipod connecter is just a modified usb connector - so I am wondering there is some sort of adapter that goes from ipod connecter to regular usb. I don't think I can just snip off the end and solder in a reg. usb because there are controles on the ipod connecter plug. Any thoughts?

I'm browsing around trying to decide what unit to purchase. The thing I like about the Motorola is I do not have to plug it into my cigarette lighter (other than for a charge, of course).
But, I had purchased a Motorola speaker phone a couple years ago and the sound quality for the person on the other end was pretty bad. With this sound quality for me as the listener would probably be OK, as it would go through the radio.
Has anyone used one of these yet that can report back?
The positive feedback from Venturi on the Verizon one sounds good.

what I want to know is ...
how does it transmit to the FM wirelessly though ???
and if there's another radio nearby happened to be scanning stations ... will it also pick up my private conversation ??
I can understand when this is routed through the cigarette lighter plug ... but wireless ??? and they don't specify the type of FM radio ... so I just assumed any regular car FM stereo ...
anyone for answers ???
Good questions.
It seems to me that it transmits to the FM device via BlueTooth; then the FM device transmits to the radio over FM frequency.
And I assume that if someone in a car nearby (I don't think it will transmit very far) happens to tune the the same FM frequency you are using, that they in fact would pickup your conversations.
I would like to be able to have the bluetooth transmit my stereo to my radio, and if I have on a BT headset, have my conversations go there. But, I'm not sure that is possible.

PDA Bluetooth working with Car Stereos?

I have been searching long and hard to find a working solution to make my PDA work with my car stereos bluetooth, my stereo is able to use both audio bluetooth and headset bluetooth with live info like signal strength, battery and more.
Dose anyone else have trouble with make PDA's work with car stereos?
I have tryed to contact Both phone maker and stereo maker, both tell me it is not campatable due to the type of bluetooth in each are different. The ones in a PDA are the same as the ones in PC, and in regular phones it is a dumb down version and the same goes with car stereos it a dumb down version and the send signals differently.
SO ANYONE FOUND A FIX?
ANYONE WANT A FIX?
Never tryed it
If u guys get it working let me know
I have a At&t Tilt wm6 cell
you could use something like the R35 clip bluetooth and plug that into an auxillary input wired to your car stereo. Then your PDA bluetooth can sync up with the R35 bluetooth thingy and would be input into your car stereo...
i assume you have a BMW tho with built in bluetooth which would not work.
and by different version of bluetooth they probably mean like v1.1 or v1.2. i dunno if that'd make it not work but it is probably a culprit.
I do not have an auxillary input on my car. And as far as the bluetooth they are different chipsets with different ver also.
Has anyone been able to connect to a car stereo. (Aftermarket Stereo)
I have a Pioneer AVIC-D3
I dont have an external solution, i actually have a Head Unit that has BT built in. It is a sony series reciever. WORKS GREAT! i use it everyday. One of the best purchases i made for my POS car.
Seconded -- I have the Sony MEX-5000BT and its BT performance is better than any headset/headphones I've ever used.
Maybe I need to buy a sony, as pioneer knows about its compatability issues and are not releaseing a firmware update to it. Any other stereos out there that work. I have had issues with sony headsets. I am a real big fan of pioneer and this new head unit I have.
I know there must be a way.
There just has to be.
I will find one you just wait and watch.
I Found It!
I have fond the solution and did not even know it.
I have been working with a friends CAB file trying to make it work in a OEM folder install.
I just happend to ask him what the cab file was.
Check it out.

I have already tried it and it works great.
Infact before when I would connect to my stereo with any phone and the phone would ring it would ring the generic tone. With this plugin, it rings the personalized ringtones have for people. This is cool and all for only $15.
Hope this helps out others.

yup, i have the same one. dont know how i lived before i had it.
Also, this unit does allow for ringtone passthrough to you car speakers along with anything else that you can get notifs through BT. The only downside for notifs is that you have to be on the stereo BT function on the radio. Calls will come through reguardless of the function you are using.

Looking for a good aftermarket car stereo to use with Titan bluetooth

I'm considering putting a new stero in the car but if I do I want to get one with bluetooth that will work with my XV6800. Does anyone out there have one that they are happy with? Handsfree dialing, access to contacts and streaming MP3s to the stereo would all be nice features to have.
Try Sony radios?
Me and my wife have the Sony BT2600 each. Reasonably priced below 200 and will bluetooth phone and stream audio as well (she has the Instinct and I have the htc 6800). You can't upload contacts to the radio but it will use the voice tags stored on your phone. The radio has a built in mic with abilty to adjust mic level from low to high. I love when I stream mp3's/listen to radio stations, the radio cuts to the phone and then resumes when u hang up. The phone's ringtone doesn't play through the speakers. Instead, a series of beeps play through the speakers alerting you to the call.
My wife's phone/audio connects to the radio automatically when her stereo is on. Mine, however, will connect the phone automatically, but I have to manually connect the bluetoothed audio. Not a problem though, all I have to do is press button 6 on the stereo and it will automatically connect the last device. For a budget stereo, I don't know what I'd do without it : )
Best Buy does have some Bluetooth stereos (that's where I got ours) but beware. Some stereos are bluetooth ready and need an adapter/accessory to bring bluetooth functionality to the stereo.
I had read a few reviews of the Sony units where people say that people they are talking to through the stereo couldn't hear them well. Some of them thought it was because of the placement of the microphone on the stereo. Do you not have any issues talking to people through yours?

Car Bluetooth Overhaul

So I love my incredible...best phone ever...haha. Which is why I'm making all these changes to accommodate it!
I was playing with it yesterday, and I ran pandora and navigation at the same time- during which, I called myself, and the phone call went thru. No freezes, no glitches, nothing. So Instead of just having cords galore when plugging into my car. Can I just buy a bluetooth cardeck and sync it with my phone and go from there?
Has/Is anyone doing this now? Advice is always appreciated- Thanks in advance!
I have a PIONEER FH-P800BT and its great. Bluetooth works great for calls and A2DP streaming. When streaming audio alerts come through also, so you may want to pick some that arent too obnoxious. Ipod controls work pretty well too if your into that sort of thing.
I use a bt stereo too. It works awesome. People can here me well and I stream music all the time. As soon as proclip comes out with the Incredible device holder, I'll be all set. I use a JVC KD-BT1 head unit.
I am using a Kenwood BT200 and I also seem to have no issues with music and phone calls
I don't have my Incredible just yet but I've been using a Motorola T505 Bluetooth in my car since before I got my G1 and haven't had any issues with it. Had it about two years now. It has a built-in FM Transmitter so I'll listen to Pandora or my own music through my car stereo even when people call me I'll hear it through the speakers. No one ever reported not being able to hear me clearly when using it.
I was thinking about this some more and the more I think about it, the more I don't think Pandora will play via bluetooth. You will definitely be able to play from your library

Yep, pandaora and slacker work via a2dp
Yes. I have DUAL head unit and works fine with A2DP BlueTooth with my Incredible and yes Pandora plays thru A2DP with no problem. So, go ahead and do what ever U R thinking of doing.
awesomee..thanks everyone..so i really just need to find a unit that has A2DP..cool. I was wondering what the difference between call placing and audio streaming in terms of bluetoothin' !!
I just ordered a Motorola T605 for my car (2001 RX300 without nav) and a Parrot MKi9000 for my wife's car (2006 saturn ion). I would have prefered to get the moto for both (since it's $100 cheaper), but her radio doesn't have a mute switch and probably would have been harder to install. I'm going to do the install in the coming weeks myself.
Kenwood DNX6140 BT setup works great
I have the kenwood unit in my Trailblazer EXT and got the car bracket at VZW store. The suction cup places the phone way out of convient reach any way you try so I use the holster part with a vent clip that I had from another mount from an XM unit I tossed in favor of Pandora. Nav, Pandora, anything else runs fast and flawlessly, phone calls great.

Does Wear stay connected when car bluetooth connects?

Will the gear stay connected when I get into my car and the bluetooth connects to my phone? I use bluetooth music in my car and I'm wondering if both bluetooth devices(gear and car) will stay connected. Anybody know the answer to this?
I have the Nexus 5 (PA 4.45 installed) with the LG Watch (Stock)
- at the same time connected to a bluetooth-headset (Sony mw-600) and both work fine at the same time.
So I can hear Music via Bluetooth and when I get a call I accept the call on the watch and speak via the bt headest when I am doing sports.
Also Skip forward a song for example works fine on the watch and the headset, both display the song or when someone calls the name/number.
- Watch and Car are connected at the same time, so I say "ok google call xxx" and the connection is done and I can speak via the original integrated bt-connection of my car. Also if someone calls, I can accept via the watch or the car-integrated solution. Car is a Seat Ibiza (6J)
so I would assume it works with all "VW cars" like VW SEAT SKODA AUDI etc. BT-Music is not working at all (even without watch) in my car.
So connecting at the same time is possible without any hacks etc. (at least for me

I have an '07 Audi with an aftermarket A2DP mod, so I can stream music from my phone (it's all I use for music nowadays). One of the nice things about Wear is that as soon as I say "OK Google" or the watch starts listening, it actually pauses the music playing in my car so I can talk. As soon as it stops listening, it resumes my music. Quite fancy. When I answer a call with the watch, it also picks it up flawlessly in the car, switching to carphone mode.
Awesome thanks guys!! Picking up the gear live tomorrow and I have a car with stock Bluetooth. So good to know this works.
