As Hangouts is closed-source, it currently doesn't support such plugins and it depends on Google if it ever will (I doubt it). That said, there are still some limited possibilities, depending on what you want to do you can still read all SMS messages using the Android framework, or as apps like Tesla Unread exist, there is a way to now how many unread hangout/sms messages the user has (but I don't know how).
Everything that goes beyond that has to be done with XPosed...

I've been searching through this forum for a while, and I can't seem to find a thread (if it exists) of an alternative MMS program for the Tmobile MDA. I currently own one, and I just don't like the one that's "built-in" to the regular messaging system. Is there a better one out there perhaps? If so, where can I find it?

There is a nice (commercial) program called FLEXMAIL 2007. It does not only look like Outlook Express, it also supports HTML email as well as SMS / MMS. Wehn you install it it will ask you if you want it to be the default messaging application (including SMS).

Allthrough it might not be the best solution it offers a lot more than your standard built-in message application!

Im wondering is it possible to use a standalone app for gmail as opposed to the phones inbuilt email function? I have downloaded the app for m.gmail.com but it will only open via a JBlend program.
Is it possible to use a different program that will give the envelope icon in my favourites section?
Also are there any additional sms app's available to use?

Currently I have Energy ROM installed. It has the basic facebook application. How can I install the latest facebook application from microsoft so that it replaces what I have now. Also, I need the MS facebook application to be in the home slider tab.
I downloaded mine from the MS marketplace and it installed over what I have for the home slider app there is a cab floating around the forum just search for it.
Searching. Not able to find it. Can anybody give the link?

If you get double facebook icons you can always delete one of the icons with total commander.
After install, it didnt change the facebook application on the slider.
Did you change it yourself like it shows in the video?
Facebook from microsoft is different from the facebook shown in the manila(sense).
manila version comes with the minimal functionality and UI. if you click on something it will try to open the Facebook on your default browser.

I have Enery Titanium installed... when i download the .cab file, instead of using the app like it did on shipped rom, it opens facebook in opera. I would like to use the new facebook app that microsoft put out.
I've tried Touchdown and K-9 Mail and Touchdown sucks for its lack of integration and I couldn't get K-9 to work for the life of me.
Here's the the thing, I actually don't mind the built-in Exchange support in Android 2.2....with one exception. I want the notifications in my drop-down status-bar curtain to show who the email is from and a little about the email. Touchdown does this, and I would suspect most 3rd party messaging programs do this. The built-in SMS client does this.
I am new to Android and am only really familiar with the world of Windows, .dlls, and the registry. I know, if this were a shortcoming in Windows, someone could figure out where the function call is, and make that status-bar info populate like I am asking.
Is there a way we can modify a file somewhere, somehow to accomplish this in the world of Android?
I am sure the phone would need to be rooted.

Apps at issue: Lotus Notes,Lotus Look Up and Lotus Calender Icons do not show up.
All other non market apps show except for my Lotus Applications. The applications are there, I recieve notifications and can open the programs through the notifcations once I have recieved emails and existing calender entries but the application icon does not show up.
These applications allow me to access my corporate email,calender and employee directory ( sorry if you know what it is, most people wont be familiar with these ).
I really like Miui so far but this is a deal breaker as I need fluid access to these programs on my phone.
Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
