I don't know where to post/report this exactly... So I'm posting it here for now.
I've discovered that all the AOSP based ROM's for our OPO are missing some files, that causes an bug:
Some media/video streams on internet are not working, and causes an black frozen screen, after 1/2 minute(s) that you did try to start the video-stream... (You have to force reboot your device with the hardware buttons when you're experiencing this bug)
The Stock CM11S ROM doesn't have this bug, only ALL the AOSP ROM's.
So I've compared all the files differences between those 2 ROM's (latest 30O Stock ROM & latest CM11 nightly), and I discovered that the CM11 nightly (and all the other OPO AOSP based ROM's) are missing some files in the /system/vendor folder that are causing this bug...
I see that those files are included with CM11 niglties for other devices, but not with the CM11 nightlies for our OnePlus
And no, those files are also not included in ANY GAPPS package!!
Thus I've tried adding those files to the latest CM11 nightly that I have installed on my OPO... and guess what it did fix this problem, and video streams are now working properly (and not getting the black screen of dead anymore!)
The missing files that I'm talking about are the following ones:
/system/vendor/lib/mediadrm/libwvdrmengine.so
/system/vendor/lib/libwvdrm_L3.so
/system/vendor/lib/libwvm.so
/system/vendor/lib/libWVStreamControlAPI_L3.so
So I've made an flashable fix for this if you're also experiencing this bug.
You can use it on any AOSP based ROM.
The source of those files are the latest 30O CM11S Stock ROM.
Download for the AOSP Streaming FIX:
(NOT needed when you're on CM11S Stock based ROM's!!)

If anyone knows where I can report this bug to Cyanogenmod then let me know pls.
You can report bugs to cm here: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa
Can you be more specific on how this problem is triggered? I've always ran CM nightlies and never had any trouble with streaming.
They have integrated the files/fix in nightly 20-8
See those links:
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-5071
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/70794/
I can confirm the widevine files are present now. DRM media should work now.

Hello,
Tried many custom roms but usually end up coming back to the offical AOKP rom for the N4. I like the options and speed of the rom, find it very stable and use the theme engine. I haven't tried their 4.3 roms as they are all nightlies and I am always led to believe these are a bit risky for using as a daily driver. I use my phone for work and important things.
I have stayed with 4.2, but the only issue I have found is that the camera flash does not work. I have tried the latest stable 4.2 release, but then under instruction by aokp him/herself flashed the last 4.2 nightly as I was told there was a camera fix for that release. This was a clean install, I wiped and flashed.
Unfortunately I still cannot get the camera flash to work. I know my phone is not faulty as the flash works fine in Beanstalk, CM and other roms.
Anyone else experienced this?
The nightly releases for AOKP 4.3.1 are stable. Just make s nandroid backup and install them.

ThemeManager crash with Franco/Hells kernel
Hi,
Did anyone had issue with ThemeManager. It's crashing always while restarting phone. I tried Franco/Hells kernel and it happens on both. It's working correctly on standard kernel. I tried to set up stock theme/clean data in application. Nothing helps.
OK, so I have installed AOSP Lollipop from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-aosp-build-t2929544
I was wondering if anyone is currently working on a custom build without so much Google inside. I would normally use CyanogenMod but they still don't have even a nightly build of Lollipop that I can find so I am limited to AOSP at the moment. I did try SimpleAOSP but that was from one extreme to another - I wasn't able to install any apps at all due to issues with libs.
It would be nice to have a ROM like SimpleAOSP but with F-Droid installed so we can install other apps without having to flash the GApps zip.
So far, I have tried flashing stock camera, as well as AK kernels as suggested from oneplus forums. The cameras themselves work on certain rom(Exodus, Blisspop) but they do not work when you are making video call, and your phone just crashes or Skype app crashes.
Here is the link for the flashable stock camera for cm based ROM (you can flash hydrogen camera onto OxygenOs from this link):
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/oxygen-hydrogen-os-camera-for-cm-based-roms-2-1-0-1-1-0.378160/
Thanks.
Sorry for My bad english before.
Hey guys, I have a Question for 2014811 users.
Are you get Blueflickerin screen when using CyanogenMod Roms?
I found this bug since I using CM 12, and CM13 now still exist. I dont know why. I try premaca kernel that stock rom kernel based, then I cant play video and music, using other cm kernel based there same has blueflickerin bug.
I also face this issue with the Official Miui 8 Lollipop on the prime edition.
Any fix people?
I had blue flickering on Resurrection Remix when I toggled the flashlight to on in the QS drawer. I have since performed a clean flash and have not observed the flickering again.
Perhaps try a clean install (format internal storage and then flash) and see if the problem persists.
I will try it :good:
guys, go to developer settings, find the option named 'Disable HW overlay', Disable it. Thats it
I suppose this is a reasonable place to ask this sort of thing and hopefully avoid 'how-long-is-a-piece-of-string?' replies.
I have two of them - a 16 and a 32 GB - and they seem to be OK for the most part. They are used for usual non-commercial stuff including video watching and some mild games. I just want the Nexii to be as stable, efficient and hassle-free as possible.
My options seem to be to run:
stock 5.1.1
A marshmallow ROM (which one?)
A nougat ROM (ditto)
Any of above with Franco kernel for efficiency and maybe Xposed, if available, for tweaks and 'upgrades' e.g. 'N-ify'.
I currently have PureNexus 7.1.1 on one (no camera) and Cyanogen 13.0-20161031 nightly on the other (some freezing and crashing).
Any suggestions re what I could use that is as stable, efficient and hassle-free as possible?
BUMP. (does one need to do this on XDA?)
I might be at the wrong forum sub-group. Any suggestions where I might find folk who know about mods and Nexus 10?
Ultimately, _no_ 7.x ROMs have working cameras, and I don't think any of them have working DRM binaries either (although I could be wrong).
CM is no longer being maintained, so any issues you do have there are not going to be fixed.
There is the LineageOS 6.x (https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/development/rom-t3556116) but whether it works well I don't know. It appears to be the closest to a 'maintained' 6.x ROM though.
I was just given a 10 last weekend and went with the latest lineage build https://download.lineageos.org/manta
Assuming you have a custom recovery just wipe, flash lineage, then a small gapps package, and finally SuperSU and you are rocking and rolling. Just give it a few minutes to settle after the first boot. My only complaint so far is the lockscreen is only in landscape mode.
Many thanks for your reassuring replies,vo4LG and someguyatx.
Once I get over my current f#up - I upgraded TWRP to 3.1.0 not to recovery, leaving me only able to boot to TWRP in recovery - I'll be going to Lineage MM. Somewhere else Resurrection was suggested. Maybe I'll put that on Nexus no.2 afterwards.
