Last month I rooted my gt-19500 and I tried making the music player into a user app, and it got erased.
I really need it back without resseting my phone, its the best music player.
If someone could give me the apk and tell me how to install it.
I am on stock ROM&kernel
Any help appreciated
Just reflash the rom you have with Odin.
or extract the apk from the rom and push it to your device.

I would look for the newest firmware of your smartphone. Download it here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/
Than flash it through odin, select AP and check the MD5 file

Thanks. I'm running 2.2.2. Where can I find the stock ROM so I can pull it from? I tried from a customer ROM but it wouldn't install. I'm assuming it is because it has been deodexed/zipaligned.
Thanks again.
I tried but no luck, any clue how and I can try again.

So I downloaded the Blur_Version 4.1.83 from Motorola's website and noticed there are two Browser files:
Browser.apk.p
Browser.odex.p
I renamed them (removing the p) and pushed them to systems/app. When I tried to install the apk is said it is a system app and do I want to overwrite it (something like that). I clicked yes but the install failed. Now when I try to install I get the following Parse error: There is a problem parsing the package. I've tried a factory reset (both ways) and still can't get it to load.
Help!!
can you specify files and locations?
note that my atrix is 2.2.2.
you can also use different browser such as firefox or dolphine hd.
Well I was trying to follow the instructions from here to turn off the auto conversion from sms to mms whenever you enter an emoji. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472009&page=5
Long story short I ended up with a non-functioning SMS app, and I accidentally deleted my backapp while I was moving things around. SO I guess what I'm asking is if people can give me a copy of there SecMms.apk for kitkat 4.4.2 (Ive tried adding previous versions but that doesn't seem to work). It should be located at the system/priv-app (you have to be rooted to access it). Thanks guys.

I'm using the stock Samsung n9005XXUEND6. I don't know how to extract it from the rom, If you can point me to a simple guide and a little more instructions that would help a lot. Or if you have a compatible SecMms.apk that would really make my day.
Factory reset is not an option for me, as I have not made any backups, and I have too many apps and setting for me to wipe my entire phone.

you can copy the rom to your desktop, and just copy it out... you need rootexporer or esfilemanager with root access, so you can copy it back to system/jpriv-app,
if you look on my signature, I have a thread in the dev section, on Samsung galaxy note 3 and tmobile note 3....
I have the roms for various N9005 phone... and the firmwares....
okay, I had to rar the file, it has the secmms.apk and secmms.odex if your using stock rom... both the files are in there... :good:

Thank you! This worked perfectly! And also another thanks for actually telling me about ES filemanager. I've always used it, but never knew it could access root files. Thank you very much.
So I accidentally deleted the video player. Does anyone have the apk for it?
Anyone?
And you don't have any rom zip on your computer or phone from which you can extract it ?
Do not flash this in recovery, all i did was zip both the videoplayer apk's as you didn't mention what one you needed, or for what rom.
these are from N9005XXUGBOB6
May we delete a stock app, Video Player?
I think you maybe had 'Turn off' it. If then, go Settings - Application Manager - Turned Off, select this app, and Turn on it.

Thank you, I'm on omega rom n9005.
EDIT: I copied both apk's to /system/app and rebooted phone and video player is still not present. Why isn't it working? I've tried so many stock video player apk's.

Thank you, you awesome person. I am really a newbie to flashing and rooting, could you please explain what should i do with it? Do i flash the zip with twrp or extract it somewhere? I tried installing some generic livewalpaperpicker.apk found somewhere on the xda and obviously it didnt work. Also is there a way to download the zip from your google drive, because for some unknown reason my phone wants to add it as a dictionary? (If no solution i'll just download it via pc). I will be fullheartedly thankfull for instructions.

I'm not sure why it's giving you a hard time downloading the zip. Are you using the Google Drive app or Chrome from your phone?
Extract the zip and copy the folder to /system/app/ using a root file manager. I should ask though, is your system stock? What version/build number? This includes the stock .apk and .odex file.

It's a rooted, stock 6.0.1 rom, with xposed framework and a bunch of modules including N-ify, If i am correct of what a build is then my build is "24.221.5.clark_reteu.en.EU reteu".
Edit:
I tried to do everything as instructed and it didn't help. And what is curious i found out that i actually already had this folder in my system/apps. I switched it with the new one, reboot and unfortunately still when i try to set any live walpaper it says "aplication is not installed". I guess i won't be able to try pixelwalpapers anytime soon.
currently im using galaxy s4 i9500 and i try to install 3rd party music app but it fails and i didnt take any backup of my previous music app
So can someone post that apk ??
name :SamsungMusic_20.apk
Thanks !!

There are lots of touchwiz zips around the forum. Get one and extract the music player from there.
Or simply download one from the play store.

Then either wait until somebody decided to post you the apk
Or
You can extract it yourself, which may be faster.
Good luck.

Its ok Btw thnks fr help
@ankrishx18 if you have that tar.md5 rom stored on your phone or memory card temporarily delete the last part of the file extension so it's just romsname.tar instead of romsname.tar.md5
from there you'll be able to open it with zarchiver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver
and then extract/copy the apk from /system/apps/
you'll need to be rooted though in order to paste it into your own /system/apps/ folder and change it's permissions to 644 aka rw_ r__ r__ and then reboot.
if you have it on your PC you could try renaming it romsname.zip but I don't know if that will work (never tried it). don't forget to put it back to what it should be after
@3mel I just found this inside in system.img which was present in "rom.tar.md5"
when i try to open system.img with pc it gives me an error "The disc image file is corrupted"
and no system apps is visible inside this img
my bad I forgot that it's not like a zip would be inside.
there are 2 tools you need to open roms on PC and that's something I don't do so I can't remember the name of them. I'll see if I can hunt down the apk for you instead, but as I don't know what the original file size it should be this could be dodgy...
are you rooted ? and what version are you on ? I'll see about downloading a small custom touchwiz rom and extracting it from there for you if nobody else jumps in to help.
having trouble using the attachments here...
uploading this one stupid file took me 3 times longer than downloading the 1.1gb rom
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5rzfbgt3vuv9iia/SMusic.zip?dl=0 here is a zip file to the SMusic.apk file taken from a i9500 lollipop 5.1.1 rom that can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9500-develop/rom-98-5-1-1-based-ale95-v2-t3304828
you need root to put this back into /system/priv-app/
permission will probably be 644 aka rw_ r__ r__ you'll need a root capable file browser to paste it and change the permissions. if pasting doesn't work you might need to mount system first which you can do with the terminal emulator app.
Code:
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
if needed this will let you paste into the system folder. just press enter after each line then use the file browser
reboot afterwards and test. if that doesn't work the mod you tried may have changed some library files.
