I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to unlock a unlock my us cellular galaxy s5 (sm-900r4)? I bought it off ebay thinking it would be easy to unlock but to my surprise it was not...I took it to a local shop (genuis phone repair) that said they could. When they tried they said something not right with the phone..the imei only has 14 digits and it needs to have 15? They said it is a true s5 not a clone....so I was wondering if any knows how PLEASE HELP!!!

going thru t mobile or what you just did.
If you're not on T-Mo then who are you on? Does anybody but T-Mo use their 3G frequency in the U.S.? If not you'll only be able to get edge speeds
If you're on AT&T, I'd recommend selling the T-Mo dream and picking up a Rogers one, that way you can get 3G.
That is assuming you're not going wifi exclusive.
Anways, easiest way to unlock is to just buy an unlock code from Ebay. They're like $7. Just search for T Mobile HTC Dream unlock code or something and you'll see them. Buy off somebody with a high rating. Should have the phone unlocked within the hour.

i made the same experience
This question has been answerred dozens of times in several different threads in this forum.
Just go through T-Mo they do it for free, explain the situation and they should be able to request the unlock code for you regardless of whether you are using their service or not.

I've got a Motorola Flipout locked to Orange UK. I tried everything to get it unlocked but without success. I tried several unlock code services but their codes all didn't work. Then I bought a X-SIM IV unlock sim-card which is placed between the sim-card and the phone. The phone then didn't ask for an unlock code but I could not register anymore into the network.
Is there any other solution to unlock the phone? Maybe there is a software solution like for the Samsung Galaxy S?

I searched around some for you, and all I found was sites where you'd have to pay about $10 to get a code... not sure if there is any other way right now
I've tried two companies who've both given me the same unlock codes which don't work!! not good! Will report back if I find a solution.

Glad you posted this, I'm thinking about getting the flipout from orange uk but I want to use my t mobile sim. What have orange said about an unlock code for it?
Orange wants you to be a customer for at least 3 month to get an unlock code from them (see help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/474187).

Wow. 3 months is a long wait. I might have to consider buying a sim free handset.
The unlock code companies on the internet usually get a new database on a regular basis (not sure how regular) to accommodate new handsets it could be worth emailing them to see when a working code may be available.
any luck on finding a service to unlock this phone yet
every site i find seems dodgy

i need to get this unlocked just bought one from orange they gave me £30 discount as i am a payandgo customer already £149,99 with the topup all in.
Ive tried two methods
1) requesting codes (two of) from World-unlock.net
2) taking it to a shop in Coventry (UK)
Neither have worked
Still looking around
has anyone tried direct motorola codes?
Has anyone tried this one yet http://www.foneszone.co.uk/unlock_form/Motorola/Flipout.php
please if you have already tried then i wont bother.
Yes, foneszone.co.uk was the first I tried but the code they sent didn't work.

I have send
You CAN unlock refurbished atrix phones.
Do a Live chat with AT&T customer care. They will email you the unlock code in a week or so. Many people including myself have been successful unlocking refurb phones.
Tried that, they wont if the phone has broken contract which seems to be the case.
anyway we're working on a non at&t online solution for refurbished phones.will be live soon
I have same problem...I bought a refurbished atrix and can´t unlock it by code´cause i´m outside US. Have you unlocked yours? I unlocked bootloader already, so can i install a sim unlock rom? Thanks!!

Do you have a solution to unlock refurbished Atrix 4G yet? I've gotten a code from AT&T in email, but just does not work.

There was a thread a while ago (2 weeks?) about unlock codes not working on some radios. Flashed a new radio then the code worked.
Too tired and drunk to search, bt that would be the only thing I could suggest.
you are probably talking about this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356121
have you all having problems tried the solutions proposed there already?
not.a.troll said:

I can confirm that the method posted works if its the same problem you are having. Its as if the bootloader being unlocked with a custom rom causes problems?
If it seems like you get an error immediately after entering it without it connecting to the network then I think the link will help you.
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 phone that I'm trying to unlock myself. Looked through these pages and couldn't find a thread about it. Can someone link me please?

SIM unlock. I want to use it on another carrier
Called your carrier and asked for the unlock code?
Some do it for free if you've owned the phone for a while

The device isn't mine originally. I bought it off someone in hopes I could unlock it. I tried calling T-Mobile but they requested the original owner to talk to instead. I've been trying to get the O.G owner to do it herself but she's been dragging her feet on it so I thought I'd try to do it myself instead on waiting on her
Other than paid services you can buy online, I'm not aware of any free methods, (Never gone looking for them though)
I'd call T-Mobile again, and say that you bought the phone from a 2nd hand shop, you don't know who the previous owner is etc

Welp I got screwed. Called T-Mobile and found out that it was blocked due to non-payment on the device. Great.
Bad luck man, if it was through eBay / Paypal, try get in touch with the seller and get a refund / open a case against them if they say no
I`ll keep my eyes open for anything that might help and post it here
Hi guys!
I have a galaxy note 4 that is locked by rent a center. I'm pretty new to flashing roms and such so I wanted to get the opinion of someone more skilled than me. My note 4 is on the straight talk network, I need to get the lock off and also need to know if it's possible to switch this phone to boost mobile from straight talk thanks in advance for timely responses

No not possible I bought the phone from someone else not knowing it was from Rent a center. They locked me out about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I called rent a center and they won't do anything for me.

Didn't know it was stolen when I bought it, but tough break I guess
The phone is toast as far as it being used as a cell.
The imei is blacklisted which means no matter what network you use it on (sim unlocked) it won't register. As-is right now, there's only one solution, and you are not going to find it on here as it's illegal (that's the only hint I'll give out)
off topic, why would you even go through rent-a-center, besides the obvious monthly payments?
