Hi all,
I've had my phone locked on Tele2 (CRO) network which I needed to unlock to be able to use T-mobile SIM. I've used Odin 3.04 and followed the instructions to update modem to I9505XXUFNB9. I've managed to unlock the network this way and use my new SIM but the connection (both phone and mobile data) kept switching on and off constantly.
After that I've tried another firmware, namely I9505XXUFNDG for T-mobile but the problem now is that mobile is almost always off with no possiblity to connect and WiFi is blocked completely (security notification "Your device's security has blocked an action").
Basebands registered properly after every flash.
Phone is not rooted and me not being a power user would just love it to work as it was intended to

Might be onto something. After reading through this post seems I need to apply WiFi fix but I cannot tell which one to use for my phone (I9505XXUFNDG) as it's not posted. Kernel version 3.4.0-481100.
I've tried I9505_WiFi_FIX_MDM.tar and I9505_WiFi_FIX_MDF.tar but they just messed up the phone completely.

Hi ,
you should flash the fix for the modem you have installed , try following:
Flash another modem from the list there
Now flash the modem wifi fix for that modem
If still in trouble re flash stock and start all over again.....

a problem started to show recently; when i select LTE/WCDMA/GSM for auto connect network mode when the mode switches due to signal availability it doesn't get reconnected. i.e. while under LTE it works fine but if i move and get out of reach it should automatically switch to slower network which it doesn't. this works fine if i select WCDMA/GSM then the switches are fine but LTE is not available under this.
one more thing i noticed since i'+ve flashed the phone is that the upper part of the phone gets very very hot (a lot more than before). since the flash i've also had to replace a microSD card which died within weeks (not necessarily connected but worth noting).
any suggestions welcome.

I've noticed something strange this past month. I was getting data disconnections and I could'nt figure out why. Each time I look at my phone, turning the screen on, mobile network (voice + data) is missing for a few seconds, and comes back.
Now I know that if I keep the screen on for a while (I tried more thant 1 hour), I don't loose the network, but if let the screen go to sleep I immediately loose the network (I don't receive whatsapp messages in background), and when I turn the screen on, it comes back.
Weirdly, when my phone could reach 4G, I had (almost) no disconnection. It only happens in a 3G, edge, or nodata zone.
I changed my carrier (I just moved from europe to New Zealand), and it doen't change the problem.
I'm using CM11-Nightly (sept) on a I9505. I tried installing an old nightly(from july), and it was really full of error messages, so I switched back to a recent nightly, but in the meantime I had no disconnection.

I don't know exactly where this option is, but it's for battery saving. You can choose that somewhere in your settings I think
I think that's true for Wi-Fi, but I never found it for network.
And now it seems that network won't come back if I don't go to airplane mode and back to normal mode.
I'm having the same problem, seems to mostly affect lollipop installs.

No I didn't. It seems that somewhere in july 2014, CM11 included a new version of the modem. So every CM11 build after that and every CM12 build is affected (I don't know about other roms).
I read that it was the way the modem handled finding the best network method. With the previous modem (v5 ?) it tried to get LTE, 3G, etc... but now it fails when it fails to get the prefered network.
4 solutions:
- flash the modem (didn't try it, don't know how)
- You're supposed to be able to choose you're prefered network in the options and choose 2G/edge. Didn't work for me but I'm interested in your feedback.
- get an old version of CM11
- live with it (my current option :'( )
There is maybe another solution, I'm not an expert, just a desperate user.
Hey again, I did fix it for myself.
The modem is the problem (I flashed my modem, and my bootloader just to be re-up-to-date).
If you want to get lollipop for yourself you should do it, its not too hard

I don't mind trying to give some pointers if you need help understanding how to do it, but I did this at 5am while sick so my memory of what I did is not 100%, never the less I would like to help if you need it.

How did you choose which modem version to pick up ? the latest ? Do you have to do it after every CM upgrade ?

And what does flashing the bootloader do ?
"What it does"... I am not 100%, I assume it initialize some part of the system, HW or kernel level, but I might be way off.
In any case I did use the dual modem pack to flash both "PHONE" and "PDA", another thread I asked in just replied to another user with the neccessity to flash the new bootloader aswell (dont know if the version numbers applies for you):
u must be using a 4.4.2 baseband and bootloader .. just a 4.4.2 baseband will not work .. once updated ur set

Tip: I had to save the PIT to a file (did it twice to be sure) with heimdall before using odin to flash (couldn't get heimdall to work for that part), all because odin would not play nice inbetween loading the PIT from device and flashing, this might not be a problem for you at all so it's just an FYI.
I managed to flash the modem & the bootloader. So far, no disconnection, so I'm quite happy.

One day, suddenly, I lost the possibility to call o to receive call, send message.... but I have connection and I can use It!
I try to do root, to change room, but It doesn't work.. I change SIM and I try with other operator, but I have the same problem!!
Sometimes if I reboot the phone and I connect it with USB to PC I can call, but when I disconnect the phone from PC, after 15 minutes I lose the registration to the network(to call) buti I have internet (3g 4g).
Actually I have root, cyanogenmod 12.1.

There could be something wrong with your modem. Please consider that, when you flash a custom rom, you don't flash a new modem as well, so going from a custom rom to another won't very likely solve the problem.
I would look for the zip with the right modem.bin, but I suppose you'd better make a backup of your efs partition (to save the imei) and then clean everything and flash a stock rom via odin.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4 with this custom rom.
Unfortunately, the wifi connection drops or doesn't even work at all. I downloaded another custom rom, Cyanogenmod 11. For me, this rom also has the same wifi issues. So I followed this tutorial here on XDA to update my modem and bootloader to XXUHOF2. (I also flashed the wifi fix for that bootloader in pda/ap).
The modem and bootloader update worked, according to these screenshots: (See attachments)
But the wifi connection still drops or doesn't even work at all.
Also, the mobile connection and wifi indicator have sometimes got an exclamation mark next to them. (See attachments)
When I go back to stock, the wifi works perfectly. (But I don't want stock because I hate touchwiz).
By the way the mobile data, texting and calling also works fine.
What do I need to do to get the wifi working?

Hello, since a few days my Note 4 has the problem that it looses connection. WiFi works perfect but mobile data and normal signal are gone at least once a day and the only thing that helps is to reboot the phone.
Is this an OS failure or a modem failure? If its a modem failure where can I get a new one for austria?

Tried some modems from here for the 910F and now its totaly broken. I have no signal at all, Baseband Unknown and when I turn on Mobile data it says that i have to insert a Sim Card and its restarting a few minutes after its turned on.

Flashed an update from my operator and its working again, but on the downside I have the operator**** back on my phone again.
Okay it didn't help. Its loosing signsl again and can't reconnect it also has mocrofreezes now.
Is there really no one that can help?
